The big hit of Mutual Admiration Society was by Theresa Brewer. I just recalled that I had intended to comment on Jamie Fox being in a film about Muhammed Ali. In fact, the film had its theatrical run and is showing rather frequently on antenna TV these days. Jamie is in the film, but Will Smith stars as the boxer.
Grooving is a great song.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks once again for your comments, edgar.

Wow! Don't know Hello It's Me by Todd. Great one, Texas.

Going to say goodnight with two songs.

First, The End of a Perfect Day by a new face on the horizon.

Here is some info on the lady.

Sissel Kyrkjebø, also simply known as Sissel, is a Norwegian soprano. Sissel is considered one of the world's top crossover sopranos. Sissel's musical style runs the gamut from pop recordings and folk songs, to classical vocals and operatic arias.

Now, a lovely one about India.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SN7VM2nwgO4&feature=related

We know that McTag has been there as well as Barry and we also know that Prince Gautam was born there and Verbie is East Indian.

So if the world won't come to us, we'll go to the world.

From Letty with love and for Carrie, from Mom with love

Funny, edgar.

Red moon at night, sailor's delight.
Red moon in the morning, sailors take warning.

I awakened to a red moon over the canal.

Today is Ken Curtis' birthday. Love this one by him.

I have always liked Ken Curtis. I used to hear him with the Sons of the Pioneers, but had no idea he was one of them. He was, as they say, somebody groovy.

Barry, I love that music that Verbie played. I did the opera Song of India on the yabber thread. As I noted, you've been to India, McTag has been to India, Prince Gautam was born there. Also like your jazz offering by that Indian group.

edgar, borrow the Fredster and take a cat nap, but if Barry doesn't feed him, you might get cat scratch fever. Razz Don't know The Blackboard of My Heart, but it was a goodie.

Thinking of Kung Fu Fighting and The Last Samurai now.

@Barry The Mod,
That's a great one by Paul, Barry, and I understand that there are once again many homeless people in America. Thanks for the info on Ursula. There is good and bad in all ethnicity. Of course that was then let's hope that now we are learning better lessons. There is no greater teacher than experience.

Here's another ethnic song by Three Dog Night. First a bit of info.

Whatever its historical basis, Shambhala gradually came to be seen as a Buddhist Pure Land, a fabulous kingdom whose reality is visionary or spiritual as much as physical or geographic. It was in this form that the Shambhala myth reached the West, where it influenced non-Buddhist as well as Buddhist spiritual seekers — and, to some extent, popular culture in general.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your honest comments, edgar. I'm not a Kung Fuer either, but it is an art form.

Great one by Marty. I remember when I was quite young standing and watching a beautiful Victorian home burn to the ground. I couldn't stop crying. It had attached boxes (as the Brits call them) and a slate roof. So beautiful.

Odd, Florida was drenched and now it's dry again.

Somehow, I thought of this Wildfire, Texas.

@edgarblythe,
Please Come to Boston was great, edgar, and thanks once again for your comment.

Here's an interesting bit of news on a cold case, yawl.

As protests erupted on campus on May 4th 1970, Kent State student Terry Strubbe hung a microphone out his dorm window to capture the mayhem below. A cassette copy of that recording became evidence in the 1971 civil trial of eight Ohio National Guardsman.

In 2007, that cassette was discovered in the archives at Yale University. The audio was mangled, but some people thought they heard an order to guardsmen to open fire.
This spring, the Cleveland Plain Dealer sent a digital copy to New Jersey-based forensic audio analyst Stuart Allen to confirm that. Allen says he does hear the order. But it’s what else he hears that creates a new stir -four gunshots BEFORE the guard opened fire.
It’s evidence he thinks could reopen the 40 year-old cold case.

The song that rose from the tragedy.

Unless it can be established that the shots were fired by other than the guardsmen, I don't see how they can do much with it.
