@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, thanks for restoring our signal. Don't know that Stonewall Jackson, but Life to Go was great. I do know Robert E. Lee and his Stonewall, however.Thanks for your comment, but you forgot Hugh Laurie, buddy.

Another birthday man takes us on an underwater tour.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for your comment, edgar.

I guess you know who I thought that was going to be. When I found out otherwise, I went searching again.

Johnny "Country" Mathis (September 28, 1933 – September 27, 2011) was an American country singer and songwriter. He is credited with penning more than 500 tunes over the course of his long career.

One Life was a good one. Thanks for the introduction.

Today is Gene Wilder's birthday. What a talent he was and funny, funny.

Hurry back, edgar, and thanks again for your comments.

Wow! George of the soccer kind and Rockhead did some great First Aid Kit songs. Love Eric Clapton, George, but you should watch your tongue after saying those naughty words or you might need first aid. Razz

Welcome back, Brit. We were a bit concerned about you. Glad all is well in London. Don't know that song, You're Gonna Love My Baby, but it was a good one.

You're gonna love this one, it's this guy's birthday and he's still with us.

@edgarblythe,
As you know, edgar, I love Joan Baez. Her montage of baptism songs was great. Thanks again for your comment.

"...send not to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.."

Inspired by you, here are two songs about tolling bells.

First, The Bee Gees.

Ah, Maurice and his falsetto.

Now, From O Brother Where Art Thou.

edgar, Love that one by The Kingston Trio. I had forgotten that they also did Tom Dooley.

Thanks, Brit, for your comment and that guitarist is fabulous. I know the Alhambra, however.

Anyone remember this guy? Here's a memory jog.

Hoyt Wayne Axton (March 25, 1938 – October 26, 1999)was an American country music singer-songwriter, and a film and television actor. He became prominent in the early 1960s, establishing himself on the West Coast as a folk singer with an earthy style and powerful voice. As he matured, some of his songwriting efforts became well known throughout the world. Among them were "Joy to the World", "The Pusher" and "Greenback Dollar".

Let's give him a listen.
