edgar, you know how I love Echoes of My Mind. Thanks for commenting, especially to TryingToLearn.

hbg, Chris' Wimoweh reminded me of The Lion Sleeps tonight, and Flip Wilson's Geraldine was indeed funny.

Two songs for the early morning here.

First, Earl "fatha" Hines doing an instrumental of Hoagy's Two Sleep People replete with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.ug/watch?v=V80p50NQrvw&feature=related

Here we are
Out of cigarettes
Holding hands and yawning
Look how late it gets
Two sleepy people by dawn's early light
And too much in love to say goodnight

Here we are
In the cozy chair
Picking on a wishbone
From the Frigidaire
Two sleepy people with nothing to say
And too much in love to break away

Do you remember
The nights we used to linger in the hall?
Father didn't like you at all
Do you remember
The reason why we married in the fall?
To rent this little nest
And get a bit of rest

Well, here we are
Just about the same
Foggy little fella
Drowsy little dame
Two sleepy people by dawn's early light
And too much in love to say goodnight.

Now, one that edgar reminded me of that I did not know.

The Eye of the Tiger.

Rocky Balboa (also known as Rocky VI) is the sixth and as of yet final film in the Rocky franchise, directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone. The film, which was also written by Stallone who plays underdog boxer Rocky Balboa, is the sixth film in the Rocky series that began with the Academy Award-winning Rocky thirty years earlier in 1976. The film portrays Balboa in retirement, a widower living in Philadelphia, and the owner and operator of a local Italian restaurant called "Adrian's", named after his late wife.

I think most of us know the legacy of Hines so I won't elaborate. Let's just say he was one hell of a jazz man.

I have seen all of the Rocky movies and I recall Eye of the Tiger.
Interesting to me, in Rocky VI, he is befriended by a woman who confesses to being the kid, in Rocky I, that Told Rocky, after he gave her a lecture, "Screw you, Rocky." She grew up to be level headed.

@eurocelticyankee,
ah, our fey Irishman restored out signal. Thanks for your comment and that beautiful song by The Cure. It tells a story, all right.

I was thinking today about Ennio Morricone. What fantastic themes he wrote for movies. Here is a simple one by that talented composer called Nostalgia. It's brief but beautiful. Yo Yo Ma adds wonder to it as well.

euroGeorge. That selection about The Phantom of the Opera was stunning. There really was an Eric who was deformed at birth. Thanks again for your comment.

Welcome back, Brit. Sometimes I Feel Like a Motherless Child is full of memories for me. That child kneeling at the grave marker brought a few tears to my eyes.

Here's a great one from a fabulous group.

I saw that about Dick Clark, Barry. Never watched American Bandstand, but I'm sorry about the "worlds oldest teenagers" demise.

Hmmm, our edgar has been a busy...

Thanks for the Woodie Guthrie song to Mrs. Roosevelt. Odd, cause I notice there are Roosevelt dimes being minted again.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, jazz man Bill Evans.

Time for me to close my eyes, so another great one.
