Barry, I think Beckett is simply saying that the magic number is two.

The end of the play summarizes the theme of the play.

Vladimir: Well, shall we go?
Estragon: Yes, let's go.
They do not move.

Shall we GO? they say. Yes, let's GO. But they never DO IT. They are waiting to "GO-DO-IT," to find meaning for themselves, to make meaning for themselves, to experience Emanuel within themselves. Still waiting. Well, I guess they're just not as "lucky" as someone willing to be led around on a leash by a Pozzo. Beckett goes from one extreme to another. Breath, then Godot

The magic number is "two".

Love Peggy Lee's He's a Tramp, however.

Thanks you for the radio theater.

edgar, Lena Horne's The Eagle and Me was one that I didn't know.

Ah, dear talented Tai. Hi back, Ms. Baby Face. Remember this?

When Little Richard retired from the rock scene, to preach and sing gospel, he made a farewell album. It was mostly made up of hit singles, but he included some songs in the hope of influencing adults to give his music a listen. The songs were Baby Face and By the Light of the Silvery Moon.

edgar, thanks again for you comments and By The Light of the Silvery Moon was one that I didn't know by the Little man.

Welcome back George of the soccer kind. You sent me searching.

Malcolm John "Mac" Rebennack, Jr. (born November 21, 1940), better known by the stage name Dr. John (also Dr. John Creaux), is an American singer-songwriter, pianist and guitarist, whose music combines blues, pop, jazz as well as zydeco, boogie woogie and rock and roll.

Revolution was great, and thanks for the introduction.

Sleep well, dear Brit. I didn't know that Annie Laurie; just the one from Scotland. It's been a long time was a good one.

Time for me to say goodnight as well, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, The End of a Perfect Day.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThgVRe24foI

My mom used to sing that one.

Now, another sailing song.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGcc5-BQymw&feature=related

What started out as a terrible day ended up to be perfect for me.

So nice to see Ontario and London with us, perhaps euroGeorge will join us once again.

From Letty with love to the world

Good EARLY morning here, yawl.

edgar, Thanks again for your comments and I had no idea that Johnny Cash did The Very First Time, Ever I Saw Your Face. Don McLean deserved that tribute.

hbg, Today will be a better day, and I knew every one of your songs except the second sailor one. When I was a kid, I thought it was Anchors Away. Razz

I awakened thinking of this song. Fantastic version.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment, edgar, and I've been following the Bee Gees. Pop star Robin Gibb is in a coma in a London hospital, amid fears he has only days to live, according to reports. Good tribute, Texas.

Britain's The Sun newspaper says his family is keeping a bedside vigil for the 62-year-old star, who has been battling colon and liver cancer and now has pneumonia.

It is reported that family and fans of the Bee Gees were last night praying for the star's survival.

Two songs for that fantastic group.

First, a medley.

Now, since it's Saturday, the fever song.

Welcome back, hbg. Loved the Spring Song by that fabulous diva. Don't you know that dancing is better exercise than bowling? Razz

How about flowers waltzing.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comments, edgar. As you know I love Yeats and Donovan did a great job with that one.

Going to say goodnight a bit early.

First, a poem, and the birds to go with it.

http://images.colourbox.com/thumb_COLOURBOX1877375.jpg

All Day I Hear the Noise of Waters

All day I hear the noise of waters
Making moan,
Sad as the sea-bird is when, going
Forth alone,
He hears the winds cry to the water's
Monotone.

The grey winds, the cold winds are blowing
Where I go.
I hear the noise of many waters
Far below.
All day, all night, I hear them flowing
To and fro.

James Joyce

and the Irish Tenors.

Don't know what happened to euroGeorge, but it was nice to have Ontario with us today.

From Letty with love remembering the seabirds smashing into my window after a strange ocean squall.
