McTag, hilarious. Just shows that most Americans don't know their Roman Numerals.

What's half of XXX? Only half a kiss?

Wow! Angel, That was some madness. (gulps and remembers the love bites)

Yit, don't sit, just keep on with the jazz, but it must have the word "half" in it. Half a league onward, buddy.

Half of XXX is XV. One thing you can say about Francis is that he's not two faced. For that he'd have to multiplied by IV.

eh, how's Half Nelson by Miles Davis, with Charlie Parker making a rare appearance on tenor sax? no lyrics on this one, unless there's a John Hendricks or Eddie Jefferson in the audience willing to provide some. Question

um, explanation of my name-dropping might be in order for the less initiated. Eddie Jefferson was the original practictioner of vocalise, or putting lyrics to jazz solos, with Moody's Mood for Love, based on a sax solo by James Moody, being the most celebrated example, while Jon Hendricks, leader of the trio Hendricks, Lambert, and Ross, was perhaps Jefferson's greatest follower.

There I go, there I go, there I go
There I go..
Pretty baby, you are the soul who snaps my control
Such a funny thing but every time you're near me
I never can behave
You give me a smile and then I'm wrapped up in your magic
There's music all around me, crazy music
Music that keeps calling me so very close to you
Turns me your slave
Come and do with me any little thing you want to
Anything baby, just let me get next to you
Am I insane or do I really see heaven in your eyes?
Bright as stars that shine up above you in the clear blue skies
How I worry about you
Just can't live my life without you
Baby come here, don't have no fear
Oh, is there a wonder why
I'm really feeling in the mood for love?
So tell me why stop to think
About this weather, my dear?
This little dream might fade away
There I go talking out of my head again, oh baby
Won't you come and put our two hearts together?
That would make me strong and brave
Oh when we are one, I'm not afraid, I'm not afraid
If there's a cloud up above us
Go on and let it rain
I'm sure our love together will endure a hurricane
Oh my baby
Won't you please let me love you
And give a relief from this awful misery?

(in falsetto) What is all this talk about loving me, my sweet?
I am not afraid, not anymore, not like before
Can't you understand me?
Now baby, please pull yourself together, do it soon
My soul's on fire, come on and take me
I'll be what you make me, my darling, my sweet

(back to normal voice) Oh baby, you make me feel so good
Let me take you by the hand
Come let us visit out there
In that new promised land
Maybe there we can find
A good place to use a loving state of mind
I'm so tired of being without
And never knowing what love's about...
James Moody, you can come on in man
And you can blow now if you want to
We're through.

KK, no more ringing or clicking k. In my search I came up with many interesting writings and poets. And, I realized that I have more on the subject than I realized. I have the complete poetical works of H.P. Lovecraft. One of the stories is called "At the Mountain of Madness" it's too long to type from my book. So, here is my favorite website on the weird. I would have cut and pasted but was not sure how many words the posting area takes. You will find his stories not his poems. You will also find other interesting information, and it even has a radio that plays music.

Got to get to work, I took too long a lunch break, later.

Right, Bob. Francis is no Janus. <smile>

Hey, yit. That was one that I didn't know. Lambert, Hendricks, and Ross come in jazz threes and the Hi-Low's in fours along with the Freshmen and the Lettermen. <smile>

Ok, folks, we're on a roll, (not jelly Roll, unfortunately)

Hey, angel, Lovecraft just gave me half a shiver. My friend, Jim, from Virginia Beach introduced me to him.

Not exactly jazz, folks, but see if you can name this artist:

Half As Much

If you love me half as much as I love you
You wouldn't worry me half as much as you do
You're nice to me when there's no one else around
You only build me up to let me down

If you miss me half as much as I miss you
You wouldn't stay away half as much as you do
I know that I would never be this blue
If you only loved me half as much as I love you

You're nice to me when there's no one else around
You only build me up to let me down

If you miss me half as much as I miss you
You wouldn't stay away half as much as you do
I know that I would never be this blue
If you only loved me half as much as I love you.

Ah, Angel, miles and miles of Miles. I have a bunch of Diana Krall stuff.

You know, listeners, I seldom listen to cd's any longer. I don't know, something about too many unfortunate memories.

angie, you need to replace that pile with an 6G ipod mini, mine has over 1300 tracks, with room for another 100 perhaps.

btw, HPL's a big fave of mine. one reason i recently visited Pohnpei, Micronesia, is that the Nan Madol ruins resemble the sunken city of R'lyeh described in HPL's "call of cthulhu". i believe HPL is more esteemed in France than the US, oddly enough.

Mentioning the Beatles and remembering the Kansas stomp from yesterday, here's one of my favourite, from the Hamburg Star Club times:

Kansas City

Ah Kansas City
Going to get my baby back home
I'm going to Kansas City
Going to get my baby back home
Well its a long long time too
My baby's been gone

Ah, Kansas City
Going get my baby one time
I'm going to Kansas City
Going get my baby one time
Its a just a 1-2-3-4,
5-6-7-8-9

Hey hey hey hey
(hey hey hey hey)
Hey, baby
(hey, baby)
Ooh now girl
(yeah, yeah)
I said yeah now, huh
(girl, girl)
Now now now now tell me baby
What's been wrong with you

Hey hey hey hey
(hey hey hey hey)
Hey now baby
(hey baby)
Ooh now girl
(yeah, yeah)
I said yeah now, huh
(girl, girl)
Now now now now tell me baby
What's been wrong with you

I said bye
(bye bye bye bye)
Bye bye baby bye bye
(bye bye bye bye)
So long
(so long so long)
Bye bye baby I'm gone
(bye bye bye bye)
I said bye bye baby
Bye, bye, bye, bye

Bye now bye
(bye bye bye bye)
Bye now baby bye
(bye bye bye bye)
....

LOST AND FOUND BY TRIAL AND ERROR

So, once again I hurt someone
Because I found out that she's not the one
I'm looking for
So, once again I blame someone
Because I know that she can't use the love
I have in store
And now she's gone
And I'm glad her story ends
Still I wish I had been kinder
We could have parted just like friends
So, one more time I've played, lost the game
Another face in the past, without a name
Back in the night to find a light
And hoping this time I'll be right

I know you don't know me
But I need your company
Don't wanna be alone tonight
You can trust me girl
You'll be alright
Looked at me with big brown eyes
She said "yes" to my surprise
And now I call her in the morning
And I see her every night
I see her in the evening
And when I'm with her, I'm alright

While it's quiet in our studio, I think I'll play some blues news:

BLUES LYRICS

Won't you come and go with me
Down that mississippi
We'll take a boat to the land of dreams
Come along with me on, down to new orleans

Now the band's there to greet us
Old friends will meet us
Where all them folks goin to the st. louis cemetary meet
Heaven on earth.... they call it basin street

I'm tellin' ya, basin street...... is the street
Where all them characters from the first street they meet
New orleans..... land of dreams
You'll never miss them rice and beans
Way down south in new orleans

They'll be huggin'.... and a kissin'
That's what I been missin'
And all that music....lord, if you just listen'
New orleans....i got them basin street blues

(instrumental break)

Now ain't you glad you went with me
On down that mississippi
We took a boat to the land of dreams
Heaven on earth...they call it basin street.

Station break:
