edgar, Thanks for your comment and the history behind the frontier man.

Hey, Brit. I know that one by Tony and Ga Ga best by "old blue eyes". Wow! Steppenwolf's Snow Blind was spooky. Heroin, right? Happens to so many creative people.

What a nice surprise. I got a message from yitwail. He is a great guy living in Hawaii and married to a lovely lady.

So, here's one of his favorite performers and another tribute that he sent me by Jeff Beck.First, Jeff.

Now, Bunny, the turtle man's favorite performer.

Oops, Barry, missed your motown monkey. Sorry.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks, edgar. Wow! "the little tramp" and Abe Lyman. Love the oldies. Don't know that Bombay one, however.

Going to say goodnight with two songs. First, the Bunny one that yitwail enjoys.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyAoTLJAHOk

Now, a nice jazz song with lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7AXmgDNlOw&feature=related

Whenever skies look gray to me
And trouble begins to brew
Whenever the winter winds become too strong
I concentrate on you

When fortune cries nay, nay to me
And people declare "You're through"
Whenever the blues becomes my only song
I concentrate on you

On your smile, so sweet, so tender
When at first my kiss you decline
On that look in your eyes
When you surrender
And once again our arms intertwine

And so when wise men say to me
That loves young dream never comes true
To prove that even wise men can be wrong
I concentrate on you.

Good to have our Brit with us today

From Letty with love and hope

Hot off the press,here's the latest song from Playing For Change.The video is titled "United," and was created in partnership between Playing For Change and the United Nations Population Fund. They spent two months on the road recording and filming musicians across the globe and this video serves as an example that no matter how many things in this life divide us, MUSIC will always be there to bring us together....

hbg, Flip was a favorite of mine as well. I'll have to amend my last evening's message and say, Nice to see Ontario and London with us today. Donovan as well, of course.

edgar, Thanks again for your comment, and your goodnight song by Leonard was great. Hurry back, Texas.

Welcome back, London. Loved that one by The Playthings. Don't know it, but thanks for the introduction..

Wow! Playing for Change was fabulous. Countries from all over, Brit. Love it.

A birthday boy for the morning.

First some info.

John Barry Prendergast, OBE (3 November 1933 – 30 January 2011) was an English film score composer. He is best known for composing award-winning film scores, plus 11 James Bond soundtracks which were hugely influential on the musical style of the 007 series, along with the general feeling of the films.

Now, a compilation of his most popular themes.

James Bond themes are generally good. I don't ever watch the films, but I appreciate the music. I thought at first the music was to be all James Bond. Well, the other music is good also.

@eurocelticyankee,
Welcome back, euroGeorge. Hope you get your own pc soon and that will eliminate the necessity to barter with your kids.

You sent me searching, Dublin.

Terry Alan Kath (January 31, 1946 – January 23, 1978), born in Chicago, Illinois, was the original guitarist and founding member of the rock band Chicago. He died in early 1978, eight days before his 32nd birthday, from an unintentional self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Damn, that is a tragedy. That song was beautiful and the visuals simply awesome.

Tell me was a lovely song, and your comment concerning "...till then..." reminded me of this one.

Where did our edgar go? Is he across the alley from the Alamo? Razz

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Deep Elem Blues was one that I didn't know. Great instrumentation, buddy. It seems that "..deep elem..." may have to do with the red light district. Not certain, however.

The Cadillacs speedo, is one I don't know either. Great!
Thanks for you comments, and more synchronicity. These great guys did "Til Then" as well.

It hasn't been a very good day for me, but I am continually amazed at how music becomes that "...still small voice of calm..."

The Mills Brothers version of Til Then is on one of my vinyl records, along with Across the Alley. I think I mentioned before that I bought multiple albums by various artists, just to get copies of that Alamo song.
Now, to honor BVT's thread, here are the Drifters

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for the comments, edgar. Ah do I miss dancing.

Ben E. King of The Drifters did a great job with his dance song.

Two song for my goodnight, yawl.

First, Andrea, and we'll dedicate this one to all of our A2K friends who are in pain or suffering from the loss of a friend or loved one and who are ill themselves.

Now Leonard and his dance song.

So nice to have Dublin with us today. Hope our Brit from London reappears as he was a dj.
