@edgarblythe,
edgar, thanks for your comments. You sent me searching again.

Nicholas Jerry "Nick" Jonas (born September 16, 1992) is an American singer-songwriter, musician and actor best known as one of the Jonas Brothers, a pop-rock band he formed with his brothers Joe and Kevin. The Jonas Brothers originally started as an attempted solo singing career for Nick, but the record producer liked the sound when his brothers sang backup for him. He previously starred in the Disney Channel original series JONAS L.A. as Nick Lucas, alongside his brothers. He also starred in the Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam. He formed the band Nick Jonas & The Administration, which released its first album in 2010.

Great song by that kid, Texas. I think that one by Richard was an album title.

How about a little day dreaming by Davy Jones. (no, not the one with the locker)

@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for recognizing what we play here, edgar.

Ah, That Kiss and Say Goodbye reminded me of my telling song, Texas. Great one.

Another Manhattan, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Well, edgar, you know we appreciate your comments, and I know that melody, so you sent me searching about Manhattan Spiritual.

Reg Owen was born George Owen Smith in Hackney, London, and began playing the saxophone at the age of 15. He played in local groups such as Teddy Joyce's Juveniles and the Royal Kiltie Juniors, before founding his own ensemble whilst still in his teens. He studied with Benny Glassman and then attended the Royal College of Music. During World War II he played in the Bomber Command Band of the RAF, then arranged for Ted Heath and Cyril Stapleton after 1945. In 1954, he had his name legally changed to Reginald Owen. He published a book, the Reg Owen Arranging Method, in 1956, and began writing film scores in 1957; among his credits are Very Important Person (1961). In 1959, he even scored a Top 40 hit in the U.S. with "Manhattan Spiritual", which peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100. The same track reached #20 in the UK Singles Chart in March 1959. A further track, "Obsession", peaked at #43 in the UK in October 1960.

In 1961 Owen moved to Brussels, working as a composer, conductor, and arranger throughout continental Europe. He moved to Spain in the 1970s, and died at the Clinica Limonar in Malaga, on 23 May 1978 at the age of 57.

Speaking of Ted Heath, Bud introduced him to me, and I love this song which was also done by Eubie Blake.

@Barry The Mod,
Thanks for keeping us on the air, Brit. I recall Wilfrid Brambell. His Steptoe and Son later became Sanford and Son in America.

Two songs in response to our Brit's bit.

First, Secondhand Rose.

Now, Quincy Jones does the Sanford and Son theme.

@edgarblythe,
Welcome back, edgar. I was a bit concerned about you. Thanks again for the comments.

You sent me searching again, Texas.

Detroit pop/rockers the Sunday Funnies were comprised of vocalist Richard Fidge, guitarist Ronald Aitken, keyboardist Richard Kosinski, and drummer Richard Mitchell. After debuting in 1970 with "Heavy Music," issued on the local Hideout label, the quartet released its self-titled debut LP a year later on Rare Earth; 1972's Benediction, produced by Andrew Loog Oldham, was the Sunday Funnies' swan song

Didn't know the group, but Richard sang well.

Of course I know The BeeGees, but didn't know Too Much Heaven. Lovely song.

How about some Bob Seger this afternoon here in Florida.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Thanks again for your comment and I really like Bye Bye Love by Ricky and The Four Preps.

Never heard Wringle Wrangle by Fess Parker but it's great as is Davy Crockett.

Thinking of James Taylor again today, and here is good advice from him.

@edgarblythe,
James did a lot of songs that touched the heart as did Vaughn. Didn't know Mexicali Trail by him, but it was great.

And from "gentleman Jim" a rose.
