@edgarblythe,
Thanks again for your comment on Prince, edgar.

Don't know Not to Touch the Earth by The Doors.

Remember the Lost Boys?

Here's one by Jim. (another sad situation)

Strange is a good song. I bought the Doors album with the song, Not to Touch the Earth and thought I would be a Doors fan. I still like parts of that album and a song or two by them, but it turns out something about Morrison repels me.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, I love The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Judy Collins. Thanks for your comment.

Going to say goodnight with two songs. First, another ghost song, then one for our Brit who went to see Johnny Mathis at O2 tonight.

Now, the very first song that I ever heard by Johnny

Johnny Mathis was born in Texas, but moved to California. At San Francisco State, Mathis had gained fame as a high jumper and in early 1956, he had been asked to attend the trials for the 1956 Olympic teams that would travel to Melbourne, Australia that summer.[6] Mathis now had to decide whether to go to the Olympic tryouts, or to keep an appointment in New York to make his first recordings, which were subsequently released in 1956. With his father's advice, Mathis opted for a recording career.

In 1958, Johnny’s Greatest Hits was released and was the first ever Greatest Hits album in the music industry. It began the Greatest Hits tradition copied by every record company. The 1981 release of his 25th Anniversary Album, a double LP, spent an unprecedented 491 consecutive weeks until 1990 (nine and a half years) on the Billboard top 100 album charts, earning him a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

In a 1982 Us Magazine article, Mathis was quoted as having said, "Homosexuality is a way of life that I've grown accustomed to."[9] Us Magazine later retracted the statement.[10] After more than 20 years of silence on the subject, Mathis revealed in an interview, in 2006, that his silence was due to death threats he received as a result of that 1982 article

In 1982 he published a cookbook, Cooking for You Alone.

Mathis has undergone rehab for both alcohol and prescription drug addictions.

edgar, liked your goodnight song by Skeeter Davis. Remember was a good one.

Hey, Brit, 99 Miles from La great. Will respond to your Change song in a few minutes.

hbg, Moon Night on the Alster all great. Loved that photo.

wm, Don't know Limahl, but thanks for the introduction. Art's Second Ave. was also a good one.

Hurry back, edgar.

Brit, it seems that one must sign in to participate, so I found one that is also Playing for a Change.

Today is Cornel Wilde's birthday so here is a tribute to the man. First some info.

Wilde died of leukemia three days after his 77th birthday. He was survived by a daughter and a son (one from each marriage); two stepsons, Pascal Franchot Tone and Thomas Jefferson Tone; and three grandchildren. Wilde is interred in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Westwood, California.

For his contribution to the motion picture industry, Cornel Wilde has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 1635 Vine Street.

Now the tribute followed by one of my favorite movies by the man.

@eurocelticyankee,
Welcome back, euroGeorge and thanks for your comments.

Wow! I didn't see The Stardust movie, but it was enchanting; a fairy tale of beauty. Thanks for the introduction, Irish.

Your Tristan reminded me of this opera by Wagner.

and the lyrics in English.

Oh, you can kiss me on a Monday a Monday a Monday
is very very good
Or you can kiss me on a Tuesday a Tuesday a Tuesday
in fact I wish you would
Or you can kiss me on a Wednesday a Thursday a
Friday and Saturday is best
But never ever on a Sunday a Sunday a Sunday
cause that's my day of rest

Most anyday you can be my guest
Anyday you say but my day of rest
Just name the day that you like the best
Only stay away on my day of rest

Oh, you can kiss me on a cool day a hot day a wet day
which ever one you choose
Or try to kiss me on a grey day a May day a pay day
and see if I refuse

And if you make it on a bleake day a freak day or a week day
Well you can be my guest
But never ever on a Sunday a Sunday the one day
I need a little rest
Oh, you can kiss me on a week day a week day a week day
the day to be my guess
