I've not been able to accurately date the hit song "White Bird" by the rock group It's a Beautiful Day. The title of the YouTube video dates this song back to 1968, the wikipedia article on the group says the debut album featuring this song (among other tracks) was released in 1969, and this song was not played on rock stations in my neck of the woods (the Houston/Galveston area) until the spring or summer of 1972. At least that's what I recall. Anyway, here's the song ...
Since I won't have time to post a YouTube music video when I get up this morning, I thought I'd post one now. So, in anticipation of daybreak, I say ...
Good morning, everyone!
Lovin' Spoonful -- "Six O'Clock" (1967)
(The year given in the title of the video is wrong. It should be "1967," as I've indicated.)

Good morning, everyone.
Now I understand about wm's posting. It's when one parades horses just before a race. Thanks for the songs, buddy.
edgar, The Beer Barrel Polka must be in honor of Octoberfest. Thanks, Texas, and once again we appreciates your comments.
wm could also be inspired by this song that hbg played.
She' Be Coming Round was always one of my favorites, letty. I know Joe Williams - first time hearing him on that song.
wm - Lovin Spoonful's a good bunch.
Thanks again for your comments, edgar. I love It Takes a Worried Man by that trio, and it reminded of the days when my older sister and I sang two different songs whose melody went perfectly together. I was thinking contrapuntal, but I don't believe that is what these two do.
First, Odetta, and although she sings several, it's "The Love Oh Love Oh Careless love that I was referring to.
The Kingston Trio & Friends Reunion Concert - 1982
They don't make them like this anymore. As a family we didn't often agree of much, but we all loved this music...2 older sisters and 2 older brothers (61 yrs to 76 yrs now).

Ragman, We'll await our edgar's return to comment on your song by Mary
wm, Love The Fifth Dimension, but don't know Carpet Man by them. Thanks for the introduction, Texas.
I have always claimed that it isn't the language, but the sound of it that is compelling, folks.
My connection keeps going out. I can't participate in playing music right now. I got to hear most of Mary Travers and the Kingston Trio. That's music I know well and is more dear to my heart than most other kinds.
