Switching over to the Science News Desk....
Oops,USA cancels a reliable ride just when Russia has a problem with theirs....

The International Space Station may have to start operating without a crew in November if Russian engineers don't figure out soon what caused a recent rocket failure, NASA officials announced today (Aug. 29).

The unmanned Russian cargo ship Progress 44 crashed just after its Aug. 24 launch to deliver 2.9 tons of supplies to the orbiting lab. The failure was caused by a problem with the Progress' Soyuz rocket, which is similar to the one Russia uses to launch its crew-carrying vehicle — also called Soyuz — to the station....

Hey, Dublin. Loved The Big Country. Hmmm. Where and oh where has our highland laddie gone?

Brit, you always keep us informed about space. Don't you find it ironic that we are space cadets with the Russians now? Love Soldiers Coming Home. Thanks for the news and the song.

Well, today is the last day of August and perhaps our Celtic lady is right about the rose.

Good afternoon. That's entirely too much music to comment individually on. I know most of the music that's been played. I will be back to play and comment shortly.

@edgarblythe,
Thanks for the comment on The Celtic lady, edgar.

My word, what a shock. Lena doing Frankie and Johnnie in a minor key.

Here's Elvis' version, Texas.

I once tried to watch the Elvis Frankie and Johnny movie but couldn't do it. I like Elvis doing the song, however.

@edgarblythe,
Didn't know there was a Frankie and Johnny movie in which "the king" starred, edgar.

Lazy Summer Night by The Four Preps was great, but you sent me searching again.

The Four Preps are an American popular music male quartet. In the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s, the group amassed eight gold singles and three gold albums. Its million-selling signature tunes included "26 Miles," "Big Man," "Lazy Summer Night," and "Down by the Station."

The Four Preps' numerous television and motion picture appearances included four years on Ozzie and Harriet backing heartthrob Ricky Nelson and with Sandra Dee in the Gidget movie. Their most recent television appearance was with the award-winning PBS special, Magic Moments.

The current incarnation of The Four Preps features the original lead singer, Bruce Belland, Bob Duncan (formerly with the Diamonds and The Crew Cuts), Joe Dickey (of The Crew Cuts), and Skip Taylor. Their shows are currently an amalgamation of singing - everything from doo-wop to Tin Pan Alley standards - and comedy.

One to match your four.

Been trying to contact my kin in Richmond. Heard from my friends in Virginia Beach. One said there was a minor rumbling of an earthquake, but nothing big time. Also said that their cottage in Nags Head was fine.

Katia is giving me a bit of concern.

Oops, missed George. Back later to acknowledge

Love George Strait's Who's Gonna Fill their Shoes, edgar. Thanks for your comment on The Four Aces, buddy.

Scarlet ribbons by The Brothers Four is beautiful.

euroGeorge has played a good anniversary song, and you just brought Rockhead back with us and another fine song.

jcboy, Tracey's Theme highlighting the songs and movies of the 60's was great.

For you and the love of your life, edgar.

rock, euro and jcboy. Many thanks. I didn't know those anniversary songs, but I loved them and sent the links to my wife's email. Tracy's music I did know, but not the title.
