UlUl? love it, edgar. Don't know Oh Me Oh My by LuLu. Remember her best for To Sir With Love. Thanks again for your comment.

Here's Fats with another LuLu.

@edgarblythe,
Hmmm, edgar, have you played Jack Johnson before?

Jack Hody Johnson (born May 18, 1975 is an American folk rock singer-songwriter, surfer and musician known for his work in the soft rock and acoustic genres. In 2001, he achieved commercial success after the release of his debut album, Brushfire Fairytales. He has since released four more albums, a number of EPs and surfing movies/soundtracks. He is also known for organizing an annual event, the Kōkua Festival. He currently has sold 15 million albums worldwide. His highest–selling album is Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George, with 4 million albums shipped worldwide, due to the success of the 2006 Curious George film. Notable songs from Johnson's repertoire include "Upside Down"; "Flake"; "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing"; "If I Had Eyes"; "You and Your Heart" and the widely-popular fan favorite, "Better Together".

Adrift is fabulous, Texas. Hope I got the right one but here's another Jack.

@edgarblythe,
Ever argumentative, I preferred Seven Samurai -

this is not the most engrossing video you'll ever see, but the score worked with the movie

I may have played Jack Johnson here before. I know I have listened to him on youtube.
Osso, the Samurai music is wonderful.
Jack Jones has a great voice. I like everything I have heard from him. Joanie is often pretty good also.

osso, I like The Last Samurai. Didn't care for Tom Cruise but ever other actor was Japanese.

edgar, thanks again for your comments. I was really surprised to see that Neil Sedaka attended Julliard school of music. My favorite by him is The Immigrant.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with two songs.

First, since it is Michael Flatley's birthday a great one by him. We'll dedicate this to all the Irish and especially euroGeorge wherever he is.

and another Lagoon song by the Platters. Not certain which platter sings this one but it's beautiful.

That Platter would be Tony Williams....
Tony Williams (5 April 1928 – August 14, 1992) was the lead singer of the Platters from 1953 to 1960. Williams was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and died in New York of emphysema.

His sister, R&B singer Linda Hayes, was instrumental in Williams becoming a member of the Platters. On the Mercury record label 45rpm release of the Platters' song, "My Prayer", Williams was listed as 'Tony Wilson'. He was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Platters in 1990 and the Hit Parade Hall of Fame in 2009.

Tom Cruise has been in some films that I dearly love, such as Born on the Fourth of July and Rainman. He has been in others I simply could not watch - Vanilla Sky comes to mind.
The Platters have rarely made a record I could not love. Oddly, their Christmas album is the exception. I am referring here to their original recordings. The later stuff put out in their name is not so great. Sleepy Lagoon is a fine song.

@Letty,
Tune up yer imagination everyone.....okay, Letty: Got my time tunnel up and running now here in the garage. Now step in with me
and enjoy some latin orchestral music from, let's say, in a swanky nightclub in 1930s Havana.
We'll have a table up close to the orchestra.

Good morning from Florida to all of our WA2K radio contributors.

edgar, Don Gibson's A Legend in my Time was great. Thanks, Texas and you hurry back. Yes, you are right about Tom Cruise in Rain Man, however, Dustin Hoffman stole the show in my opinion.

Hey, Brit. Thanks for the history of musicology. Amazing that Tony Williams did I Dream of Jeannie.

Uncle Moishy's Pizza song was funny. Loved it.

neco nomad. I know that Peanut Vendor song. Surprised that it was Cuban in origin. I thought only Italians sold and vended peanuts.

Deano's version.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yle_FkBajzI&feature=related

I like the Hispanic version better, however.

Today is Phoebe Snow's birthday. Here's one by the lady.

The reason I throw in that Ulul occasionally, is because I keep hoping somebody will note that it is derived from a Spike Jones record.

Dear edgar, thanks for keeping us on the air. I cannot believe the beauty of Jerry Vales's voice. Once again, you sent me searching.

Jerry Vale, A Singer's Life by Richard Grudens

Jerry Vale is one of those guilty pleasures in life. Not known for being cool, hip or cutting-edge, Jerry's simply a darn good singer. He sings songs you know, in a style where you can actually hear the lyric. And these are songs with lyrics you want to hear. Classics and sentimental favorites.

Al-De-La was fantastic as was My Prayer. What a brilliant discovery. My Prayer was perfect as was The Four Preps' Santa Catelina.

Saying goodnight a wee bit early as the kids from Orlando and I went out to eat. What a wonderful evening looking at the ocean and feeling the breeze from the NE. Breeze? No, a strong wind, yes.

I had no idea that your backwards words were an allusion to Spike, Texas.

Hmmm. Is that the same as gnip gnop? Razz

My goodnight song.
