Thankee.

Now, to liven up the mood, how about Dave Loggins' "Please Come to Boston"?

-the young man would stop. he looked at the christmas card friends new and old had been signing. a comment by Osso had made the man stop and think. memories flooded back of a friend, of a time burried. how he had heard a certain song as he found out about his friends death. and how everytime heard that song he was sent into memories of times spent with him. a tear drift down the mans face as the holiday spirit was there, yet was over powered with the loss of a loved one. As he walked on he started to hum, then slowly his lips would part as the lyrics of the song would come, slowly voiced.-

Blink - 182
Adams Song
(side note, this song is about a runaway, though it sounds very much like suicide, i was listing to it when i read an email about my friends suicide 2 weeks before christmas)

I never thought I'd die alone
I laughed the loudest, who'd have known?
I traced the cord back to the wall
No wonder it was never plugged in at all

I took my time, I hurried up
The choice was mine, I didn't think enough
I'm too depressed to go on
You'll be sorry when I'm gone

I never conquered, rarely came
16 just held such better days
Days when I still felt alive
We couldn't wait to get outside

The world was wide, too late to try
The tour was over, we'd survived
I couldn't wait 'til I got home
To pass the time in my room alone

I never thought I'd die alone
Another six months, I'll be unknown
Give all my things to all my friends
You'll never step foot in my room again

You'll close it off, board it up
Remember the time that I spilled the cup
Of apple juice in the hall
Please tell mom this is not her fault

I never conquered, rarely came
16 just held such better days
Days when I still felt alive
We couldn't wait to get outside

The world was wide, too late to try
The tour was over, we'd survived
I couldn't wait 'til I got home
To pass the time in my room alone

I never conquered, rarely came
Tomorrow holds such better days
Days when I can still feel alive
When I can't wait to get outside

The world is wide, the time goes by
The tour is over, I've survived
I can't wait 'til I get home
To pass the time in my room alone

Good morning, all. Tico, why don't you post the lyrics to "Please Come to Boston". I think we all need a little "up-and-at-'em" this morning.

Remember, listeners. Only five more shopping days until Christmas Eve.

Diane, I have no idea where that video is, honey. Crying or Very sad

Seed and Osso, as dys once remarked, the Christmas season is a blue time for many folks.

and now a word from our sponsor:

From A2K dairy a very a very Merry Christmas.
To everyone listening a bright and a glistening, Merry Christmas
To you.
And when you want to serve holiday guests,
Cav and big dice put a cow to the test,
From A2K dairy a very a very Merry Christmas
To you.

Remember, listeners. We never outgrow our need for milk.

and then there is the song, "Please Come to Chicago"

I do believe, Raggedy, that Betty Grable had her legs insured with Lloyds of London.

I declare, I am always gettin' Brad Pitt and Matt Damon confused. As I once observed, listeners. All them hunks look alike.

I really wish eoe were here with the latest in fashion.

Hey, thanks for your dedication to WA2K radio, Raggedy.

Please Come To Boston - Dave Loggins

please come to boston
for the springtime
i'm stayin' here with some friends
and they've got lots of room
you can sell your paintings on the sidewalk
by a cafe where i hope to be workin' soon
please come to boston
she said no, boy would you come home to me

and she said now, ramblin' boy
why don't you settle down
boston can't your kind of town
there ain't no gold
and there ain't nobody like me
i'm the number one fan
of the man from tennessee

please come to denver
with the snowfall
we'll move up into the mountains
so far we can't be found
and throw i love you echoes
round the canyons
and lie awake at night
until they come back around
please come to denver
she just said no, boy won't you come home to me

and she said now, ramblin' boy
why don't you settle down
denver can't your kind of town
there ain't no gold
and there ain't nobody like me
cuz i'm the number one fan
of the man from tennessee

please come to l.a.
to live forever
a california life alone
is just too hard to build
i live in a house that
looks out over the ocean
and there's some stars
that fell from the sky
that are livin' up on the hill
please come to l.a.
she said i know
boy, won't you come home to me

and she said now, ramblin' boy
why don't you settle down
L.A. can't your kind of town
there ain't no gold
and there ain't nobody like me
cuz i'm the number one fan
of the man from tennessee

please come to boston
for the springtime
please come to boston
for the springtime

This just in from edgarblythe's Spontaneous Poetry thread:

Stumbling around the Christmas tree
At the office party hop
Everyone dancing drunkenly
In the same old plastered way
You will hear voices singing How dry I am
Rye whiskey rye whiskey rye whiskey I cry

Where was I?

Vomiting behind the Christmas tree in the new old fashioned way

CI: I love the Jackie Lawson Christmas Card. This Christmas stuff is too good an act to follow with celebrity birthdays. And, wishing EdgarBlythe a speedy recovery.

Good morning, all from the staff and management here at WA2K radio.

ticoarnie, thanks for that song. We would like to send that out to all the Loggins fans within our listening area.

C.I., my personal equipment wasn't able to pick up pandora, but that Lawson card was really delightful. What was that classical song played behind it? One of our call in listeners wants to know.

Edgar, that was a fantastic and typical office party poem. Love it!

Raggedy, I hope you get a chance to watch Collateral with Tom Cruise. I don't think I've ever seen him act that well. Good movie, folks.

Osso, I was really taken with the Mayan information. That culture has always been fascinating to me. Gives us new insight into many of the pyramids.
