The French entry and favourite for tonights Eurovision song contest.

"Sognu (Dream)"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PwhMsJQl2ps

I love some of the comments I've read.
IE. someone with musical talent in the Eurovision Song contest,thats a first.
IE. Dammit.... doesn't France know they are breaking the rules by sending
someone that can actually sing?? Laughing Laughing

Vive La France, he has a great voice and should probably win but! it's all
politics with this competition these days. Like Greece will give Cyprus
12 points and Cyprus will return the favour, Serbia will give Russia 12 pts
and Russia will throw them a few pts in return and so on, so on. Nauseating.

Come on Jedward... Embarrassed

edgar, Loved your goodnight song. Alan Jackson and the longest "line dancing" was great. Thanks again for your comment. Hurry back, Texas.

Waves to our Brit as he leaves for all the festivities.

Ah, Sikh New Year.

Michael Jackson doing moon walking and Billie Jean was excellent. Such a shame.

Hey, Irish. Love all of your entries. Rainbow Zephyr (love that title) was great as were the other two.

The Frenchman was excellent as well. Yep, you are right about competition, however. Someone is always behind the scenes pulling the strings. That's why I never cared for those type things. Pity, no?

Today is Bobby Darin's birthday and I think that I shall begin the day with a tribute to the man, followed by another Frenchman. Razz

Now Charles' version.

Thanks again for your comments, edgar, and as you know I love Bobby's Le Mer.

@Letty,
Bobby Darin had a knack for picking great tunes. He personally picked a song from a 1930's German operetta and made a huge hit out of it.

@wandeljw,
Thanks, jw. I was a Darin fan long before he transitioned to adult performer. Then, his folk-rock period blew me away.

I would like a nickle for every version of Mack the Knife that's out there. Lotte has one of the better versions.

@edgarblythe,
I know, edgar, I was just responding to wandel's remark about the original German version.

Wow! Babs on roller skates singing I'd Rather Be Blue. Great one.

Here's one by Bette to match Babs.

Everyone has done this one, too. Can't believe that Ricky Nelson did it as well, Texas.
