@Letty,
Hi, Miss Letty.
First time I've heard Khalil, nice.
The devil & Daniel Webster, a great film.
You're misunderstanding of the words reminds me of the Dave Allen sketch.
"In the name of the Father , the Son & in to the hole he goes." Laughing

@eurocelticyankee,
You sent me to the archives, Irish.

David Tynan O'Mahoney (6 July 1936 – 10 March 2005), better known as Dave Allen, was an Irish comedian, very popular in Great Britain, Australia, and Canada in the 1960s and 1970s. He also became known in the United States through repeats of his shows on public television. His career had a major resurgence during the late 1980s and early 1990s. At the height of his career he was Britain's most controversial comedian, regularly provoking conservative indignation at his frequent highlighting of political hypocrisy and his apparent disregard for religious authority.

That guy was funny. If one cannot make fun of religion, then that's the crux of a big problem.

I recall that the Baptist Church scared me as a kid. I thought that every
thing that I enjoyed was a sin. That's the problem, methinks, especially with children.

Here's Jerry Reed.

You knows your stuff Miss Letty.
Great to have you back on the air.
Jerry was great, I'll always associate Jerry with
Smokey and the Bandit.

@eurocelticyankee,
I had forgotten about Smokey and the Bandit, euroGeorge. I still like Burt Reynolds. Great song, buddy.

Here's one by James Taylor that might have a little double entendre. Razz

@Letty,
I tried that game for a few years, in my early twenties,
lonely job, always on the go, straight from one job to the
next job. It was pre-European free borders time, so you
were constantly having to bribe cops to get through from
one place to another, Especially in the Balkans.
So hats off to the Truckers.

Good afternoon, peeples. Mr Bean is a really funny character. Khalil was a great poet. I have a copy of The Prophet here on the shelf by me. Never drove a truck, but I hitched a ride in one.

Liked Convoy, Irish. MysteryMan is a truck driver.

Welcome back, edgar. Both you and euroGeorge comment on everything that's played here.

Never heard that one by Creedence, but I just listened to Willie and Sinead do the "Don't Give Up".

This man captured the world's imagination with a balsa wood raft. Already told Texas about my having built a raft when I was a kid after reading Kon Tiki. I was always fascinating with strange animals when I was a kid, and when I got to the part where the crew claimed they saw "sea monsters", that did it!

Good message from Willie and Sinead.

Carlos Gardel (11 December 1887 or 1890 – 24 June 1935) was a singer, songwriter and actor, and is perhaps the most prominent figure in the history of tango. His birthplace is disputed between Uruguay and France. He lived in Argentina from the age of two and acquired Argentine citizenship in 1923. He grew up in the Abasto neighborhood of Buenos Aires

Yes, I'd love to visit the Kon-Tiki museum. Someday, maybe.
Ed my dog was going loco at the didgeridoo.

Two from down under from both ends of the spectrum.
INXS

Rolf Harris.

Rolf's song is often passed off as a bit of fun
but I've always found it an inspiring song.

edgar, that didgeridoo was funny. Loved it, Texas.

Hey Irish, Don't know INXS but I Need you Tonight was great. Thanks for the introduction.

Hey, hbg. Didn't know your performer, but I sure know that song. Big Jim was great as well.

I get ideas, buddy.

When we are dancing
And your dangerously near me
I get ideas, I get ideas
I want to hold you
So much closer than I dare to
I want to scold you
'Cause I care more than I care to

And when you touch me
And there's fire in every finger
I get ideas, I get ideas
And after we have kissed goodnight
And still you linger
I kinda think you get ideas too

Your eyes are always saying
The things you're never saying
I only hope they're saying
That you could love me too
For that's the whole idea, it's true
The lovely idea that
I'm falling in love with you

Love, the tango.

Here's one I bet we all know.

@Letty,
Liam Clancy, legend.
I'd say Miss Letty you'd have heard of INXS by now if their lead singer Michael Hutchinson had not committed suicide in 1997. A lot of people didn't believe that it was suicide. He had dated loads of women including Kylie Minogue, but at the time of his death he was with Paula Yates, she was Bob Geldofs wife and had left him for Hutchinson. Hutchinson & Yates had a one year old daughter when he died. Paula went downhill after his death & died of a heroin overdose in 2000. Their daughter was brought up by Bob Geldof with the daughters he already had with Paula. Sad. You couldn't make it up.

one of my favourite Hank III songs, no good videos online so here's the lyrics

I might get drunk and rob a bank,
shoot my car if it don't crank
Try to raise a little Cain,
mess the walls up with some paint

Might even join a rodeo,
ride my horse to Buffalo,
change my name to Bill -
I don't think I ever will

But I can't promise you I won't
Some people do, some people don't
Some people win, some people lose
Some people never get to choose

All you can do is the best you can
and hope things work out like you plan
I plan to stay but I might go
I can't say cause I don't know.

(Instrumental break)

I might become the president
and tell the world I'm heaven sent
Take up drinking cold iced tea,
quit watching women and tv

Might even smoke those cigarettes,
play my guitar like Dickey Betts
Get in miss Shania's pants -
I don't think I've got a chance

But I ain't sayin' I won't try
to do it all before I die
I just might win, but if I lose,
well I'll just blame it on the booze

Cause I'm just doin the best I can,
and I hope ya understand
I plan to stay, but I might go
and if I do, I told you so

@eurocelticyankee,
Thanks, Irish. Too bad about that talented guy. It happens to a lot of creative people. I think there are those who still believe that David Carradine was murdered.
