letty, I learned Jolly Old St Nicholas in grade school. Never heard it in public for several years after that. But, I see there are several good versions available.
Claire De Lune is a perennial favorite, of course.

@Letty,
I'll Take You Home again is one of those fine old songs that at least sounds Irish. Smile
Meanwhile, somewhere in America

@edgarblythe,
Welcome back, Texas, and thanks for the comments. I love The West Virginia Hills. We both know that Hank Williams died there. That man was a poet, y'all.

I like most of Hank's records, letty. Can't say the same about his son, who has some goodies, but also has some I don't like at all.

edgar, as you know I love Jimmie Rodgers. Don't know Make Me a Miracle, however. Thanks for the introduction.

Hey, Irish. Don't know any of the Texas bunch except George Strait. Kiss me in the Dark was great. Thanks, buddy.

Today is the sarong gal's birthday, so here is a tribute to her, y'all.

Claire De Lune is pretty but, as an orchestral percussionist in an earlier life, I hated sitting on the sidelines.

Nightingale song - For may years I heard that as Barckly Square. It was not until we began posting lyrics on a2k I saw my mistake.
Celtic Woman's Galway Bay is a very fine rendition.
I know the artists, but this was the first time I heard Heart of Texas.

Good morning from Florida, WA2K folks.

John of Virginia, you were a percussionist? Fantastic, buddy.

Hey, Brit, Miami Sound Machine's Bad Boy was great. Don't know that lady, but thanks, London.

edgar, once again, Thank you for the recognition that you give our contributors here on our cyber radio.

I know what you mean about the spelling of "Barkely" square. Lot of differences in the way our British friends spell certain things.

I'm Beginning to See the Light is a great song, buddy. Sang that in the Fifth grade, and again when I was a vocalist with the jazz boys. Santa tomas e Lucas played drums at the time, and told me that was the best he had heard me sing.

Just found out that Judy Collins performed at Peabody Auditorium in Daytona Beach. Wow! wish that I had known that. I love her Both Sides Now, and the lyrics tell it like it is about love.

Here's one to match London's Bad Boy.

@jespah,
Don't know The Jam, Jes, but A Town Called Malice was great. You sent me to the archives, gal.

The Jam were an English punk rock/mod revival band active during the late 1970s and early 1980s. While they shared the "angry young men" outlook and fast tempos of their punk rock contemporaries, The Jam wore neatly tailored suits rather than ripped clothes, and they incorporated a number of mainstream 1960s rock influences rather than rejecting them, placing The Jam at the forefront of the mod revival movement.

Hmmm, this must be Brit day. Razz

Paul Hardcastle, y'all
