Great one by Tracy Chapman, edgar. JP's are fine for informal things. I prefer that type myself.
Bud and I were going to get married in the minister's study at the Presbyterian Church but suddenly the church filled up with his and my jazz buddies and we had an impromptu "down the aisle" wedding. We played a gig that evening. I still think of that with fondness.
Today is International Peace Day, and I found this great song that includes all nations.
BBB has a thread about the end of summer, this song captures what looks like a perfect summer evening, good friends, good music, girls dancing, waht more can you ask for
A mile and a half on a bus takes a long time
The odour of old prison food takes a long time to pass you by
Day upon day of this wandering gets you down
Nobody gives you a chance or a dollar in this old town
Hovering silence from you is a giveaway
Squalor and smoke's not your style
"I don't like this place"
We better go
Then I compare notes with your older sister
I am a lazy gett, she is as pure as the cold driven snow
What did you learn from your time in the solitary
Cell of your mind?
There was noises, distractions from anything good
And the old prison food
Colour my life with the chaos of trouble
Cause anything's better than posh isolation
I missed the bus
You were laid on your back
With the boy with the arab strap
With the boy from the arab strap
It's something to speak of the way you are feeling
To crowds there assembled
Do you ever feel you have gone too far?
Everyone suffers in silence a burden
The man who drives minicabs down in Old Compton
The Asian man
With his love hate affair
With his racist clientele
A central location for you is a must
As you stagger about making free with your lewd and lascivious boasts
We all know you are soft cause we've all seen you dancing
We all know you are hard cause we all saw you drinking from noon
Until noon again
You're the boy with the filthy laugh
You're the boy with the arab strap
Strapped to the table with suits from the shelter shop
Comic celebrity takes a back seat as the cigarette catches
And sets off the smoke alarm
What do you make of the cool set in London?
You're constantly updating your hit parade of your ten biggest wanks
She's a waitress and she's got style
Sunday bathtime could take a while
the lyrics in the last verse are slightly different than posted, he improvises some lines, talking about event, and mentioning a band he can hear playing on another stage

edgar, Don't know that one by Tammy and George, but My Elusive Dream was great. You're right about peace. We seem to be able to handle war, but not peace.
Hey, dj. Welcome back. Great one by Belle and Sebastian. Didn't know they were Scottish. Hmmm. I had to smile at the double entendre, buddy.
I always liked Ahab by Ray, letty.
Ridin Down the Canyon is a good song, letty.

It was fantastic having Australia, Canada, and England with us today, right, edgar? Loved George Strait's Seashores of Old Mexico.
Time for me to say goodnight and I think that I shall do so with Mr. Monro.
Well, There's our flying squirrel swept in by the winds of Chicago to find out the time. Welcome back JPB. As you know, I love that group.
How about some Italian opera then. Today is Andrea Bocelli's birthday. Became blind at the age of twelve because of a soccer accident. Didn't stop him from being fabulous.
I have heard Joni James do a song or to more suited to her voice. Been too long to recall which.
I like the Italian opera.
