@Letty,
Alan Ladd made several films I enjoyed. Liked the irish song, letty. It is another world, reading comments posted on youtube on many of the songs.

@Rockhead,
Cold front, Rock? Will wonders never cease. Love Amos Moses by the Reed guy. Did you know that Rudy Vallee and his megaphone had a popularity surge some time back? Incidentally, I haven't done tie dyed since the resurgence of India wear. Thanks for keeping us on the air, Mooseman.

Funny song about some cathedral now, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Mule Train and Ghost Riders in the Sky. That's not one of Nelson's better one, edgar. I like Indian Love Call by him and so did my Mama, but here's another version by Jim Ed Brown. Smile

I know Winchester Cathedral from when it was on the radio a lot.
If you want a cat with its tail in a coffee grinder sound, listen to Slim Whitman do Indian Love Call.

Fun day? Will try with what's left of it Mooseman.

Enjoyed 29 Palms by Robert Plant, and Billy's Good at Drinking Beer was good.

Been searching again, and I was right. Slim's Indian Love Call killed the martians.

Richie Norris, a teenage boy from Kansas, is always ostracized by his family except for his loving grandmother. When Martians proceed to attack his grandmother's old folks' home, he inadvertently discovers the Martians' deadly weakness -— the noise of Slim Whitman's song, "Indian Love Call", which causes the Martians' brains to burst. After rescuing his grandma from a retirement home, both Richie and his grandma broadcast the song via radio, defeating the Martians all over the world. They are awarded the Medal of Honor for their heroic efforts by Taffy Dale on the steps of destroyed Capitol building.

Noticed that there will be a Jazz Festival in Chicago on Labor Day and among those who will be there is Ahmad Jamal. He's 80 years old.

Here is one of my favorite jazz songs by him, folks.

The lyrics.

Pennies in a stream
Falling leaves, a sycamore
Moonlight in Vermont

Icy finger-waves
Ski trails on a mountainside
Snowlight in Vermont

Telegraph cables, they sing down the highway
And travel each bend in the road
People who meet in this romantic setting
Are so hypnotized by the lovely...

Ev'ning summer breeze
Warbling of a meadowlark
Moonlight in Vermont

You and I and Moonlight in Vermont

@Letty,
Don't forget the Martians are also after Tom Jones in that film, letty.
Moonlight in Vermont is a beautiful song with some perfect lyrics.
This song is for the folks in the path of the storm on the east coast

@edgarblythe,
I remember Tom Jones being attacked, too. I think that was on the trailer that I sent, edgar. Thanks again for your comment on the Vermont song.

Love Cape Cod by Patti Page. Here's the first one that I heard by her, and she harmonized with herself. That was a brand new approach in those days.

Bud helped me do it as well when we were both in radio.

I like most of Patti's songs, letty. Tennessee Waltz is the first one I recall hearing by her.
Here's a nice one by Peggy Lee

@edgarblythe,
Isn't Peggy Lee Marvelous? Didn't know that she did I Know a Little Bit about a lot of Things, edgar.

Been trying to find this one by her forever, but no luck. Here's another version of it. Sounds like Johnny Mathis, but I'm not certain.

It's Johnny all right. I like most of his stuff, including that one.
Here's Charlie Rich, who started on Sun Records, with Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Elvis, etc.

@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Charlie Rich, edgar. The visuals were awesome as well. I guess a lot of us are like Charlie. Your rolling with the flow reminded me of this one. Jo was great as well, buddy.

Robert Burns was special, too.

I never heard Jo sing Scottish songs like that. She is very good. I prefer her this way to the comic performances she's made. I listened to her quite a lot in childhood. Shrimp Boats was one they played incessantly back then.
Well, one Stafford calls for another one - Jim, that is.
