@edgarblythe,
You sent me on a search again, edgar. It was Robert Wilson who died. Love that Gap Band song Early in the Morning. Makes me want to move around and tap my feet. Smile

Well, folks, today is Fess Parker's birthday, and I'll bet even the younguns know him.

Happy Birthday, Fess.

Time for me to say goodnight, and in my mind I can see this lovely photo.

http://plynchconsulting.com/sail/images/lions1.jpg

That full moon hangs over The Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine, Fl. The lovely landmark has fallen into disrepair, unfortunately.

My goodnight song is by a birthday boy and a fabulous jazz artist.

Goodnight, all.

I just watched Disney's Davy Crockett the other day, letty. It's corny now, but when I was a kid it seemed like magic.
Here is Fess singing Farewell to the Mountains

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K radio and edgar.

Guess our Texas man didn't like Bill Evans. Smile

Thanks for the other version of those oldies by Fess Parker, buddy, and The Good Morning song by The Fab Four will wake us up in a hurry.

Couple of songs for the morning, y'all.

First, a birthday boy.

Breaking news. Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys set to release new cd of Gershwin.

Newest release, folks.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRymasHGzUk

Other stuff in the news.

In the trendy bar he owns in Kosovo's capital of Pristina, Petrit Selimi wants the world to know that Kosovars are a far cry from the stereotype of a peasant farmer with an AK-47 in his wooden shed. The young entrepreneur and former youth activist dressed in brightly checkered shorts stresses that his Kosovo is young, modern and liberal. "We had [rap star] Snoop Dogg playing here the other day; women's rights and gay rights are on the political agenda. And did you know the people in Pristina drink 20 million cups of caffe macchiato each month?"

I typed a comment on Bill Evans. Guess I lost it. Robert de Niro is one of those actors to me who doesn't live up to his potential much of the time. Or maybe I am overly critical.

Sorry if I seem a bit surly. I am really not that way. Just preoccupied with my word processor lately. Anyway, I have never enjoyed Brian Wilson

@edgarblythe,
You're not being surly, edgar. I alway appreciate your honest observations here on our cyber radio. Thanks again for the comments.

Just found out that Jerry Butler was a member of The Impressions. Fantastic version of Moon River by the man.

Here's one of my favorites by Pearl Bailey who died on this day. I think you might have played this one before.

@edgarblythe,
Ah, edgar, I love Dear Heart. Andy does a good job on that one. Thanks, buddy.

Did you see the Deer Hunter? Here's the theme from it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bbs64txWLDE&feature=related

and the movie.

At the end, when De Niro did shoot the deer, I burst into tears.

@edgarblythe,
Great one by Tanya, edgar. Texas must be a wonderful place to live.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I'll let Nat do it for me.

Don't recall hearing Nat sing that one before. Smooth as silk, it is.
Good morning, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Love that one by Hank, edgar. "A Little More Like Heaven Where You Are" is not one that I am familiar with, but it's great country.

Another one of those sleepless nights, but I was stunned to find no moon shinning through my window.

Another Nat, and a new discovery, folks.

Good mornin', Letty! Just popped in to say "hi." School just started, so I've been scarce around here lately. You remember how it is.

I'm off to listen to a few of your latest selections before I have another class.
