LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Rocker-turned-reality star Bret Michaels has suffered a brain hemorrhage and is in critical condition in hospital, his representatives confirmed on Friday.

A spokeswoman for Michaels confirmed a report by People magazine that the 47-year-old musician was rushed to hospital overnight with an excruciating headache.

Doctors diagnosed a massive subarachnoid hemorrhage, or bleeding at the base of his brain stem. The location of the hospital was not disclosed.

"(It) will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation," the source told People.

The rock singer's spokeswoman said there would be no more information given until he has additional tests.

I cannot tell you how wonderful today has been on WA2K radio.

It is so good to see our Brits back with us.

edgar, I don't recall that John Wayne movie, but I noticed it introduced John Agar and Shirley was married to him at one time

Izzie, your Pet Shop Boys song, Always on my Mind, was perfect for Barry the Brit.

Wow! Just found out that the Fat Freddy Group was from Iceland. I'm like edgar. I don't know them, but listened twice. Wicked was great. Love that adaptation. If I Were a Carpenter is one of my favorites. Dansette's a capella was marvelous, too.

edgar, I don't know Bret Michaels, but I sure do like the way he sings. I am really sorry to hear about his illness, as he had the same problem that my dad suffered from. The couldn't do surgery on him then, but I hope things have improved in that area.

Time for me to say goodnight, and when Izzie blew Barry a kiss, it reminded me that often it's the prelude to a kiss that is the most powerful.

My goodnight song express that quite well, so here is Johnny to sing it for me.

Goodnight England and Texas; goodnight world.

@Barry The Mod,
Good morning, WA2K folks.

Fabulous goodnight song by Ted Hawkins, Brit. The visuals to "Long as I Can See the Light" were great as well. Thanks.

Here's one to match.

Never heard that version, y'all, but it's great. Even the scat is good.

Today is Doug Clifford's birthday and he's a member of Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Here's one by that great group.

Incidentally Bad Moon Rising is NOT about werewolves.

In Rolling Stone issue 649, John Fogerty explained that the lyrics were inspired by a movie called The Devil And Daniel Webster, in which a hurricane wipes out most of a town. This is where he got the idea for the words "I feel the hurricane blowin', I hope you're quite prepared to die." Overall, he said the song is about the "apocalypse that was going to be visited upon us."

@edgarblythe,
Loved that silent film with music, edgar. Forgiveness was powerful. One had to be an excellent actor to convey the meaning in the old films, buddy.

I think most of us recognized Amazing Grace. Loved the flute version. Here is Swing Low Sweet Chariot.

Another powerful performer in the silent film era.

I don't think it takes too much imagination to get the meaning here.

Bad, bad, Rudolph.

I like the way they updated that hymn, letty. And I can see that silent movies could be taken seriously.

@edgarblythe,
Didn't know Harold Lloyd, edgar, but I love the slapstick comedy, buddy. "You're Hired"; "You're fired; "Meet my husband"

Thanks for the introduction, Texas, 'cause I located this one.

I watched Lon Chaney do the Man of a Thousand Faces one evening with sub titles. Didn't like his Phantom too well, but for that day and time, it was superb considering the man did his own make up

What I like best about Jackie Chan, he appears to enjoy life. He attacks each project with the greatest gusto imaginable. I love such films as the ones he honors.

@edgarblythe,
Great one by Merle, edgar. Well, folks, the weather is pretty here, but I had another fight/flight syndrome experience which kept my little world from being too pretty.

Today is Shirley McLaine's birthday, so here is a tribute to that lady. My favorite move in which she starred was Tender Mercies.

I haven't seen Shirley's later movies. I liked her very much back in the 1960s.
Tanya Tucker has not done a lot of songs I like, but I do like this one.

Wow! Never heard Delta Dawn by Tanya, edgar,just Helen Reddy, I think.

Speaking of "delta", here's one that is not bad by a group called TILT. Their intonation is a bit poor in some spots, but generally, they are good.

Hey there Miss Letty and Edgar.

I thought I would push a plug on your radio for Crystal Bowersox. If you watch American Idol, then you already know who she is. She grew up in Ohio in a town north of me. I am hoping she makes the final 2 so I can be a speck in the crowd of well wishers that support her when they bring her back home.

Besides her awesome talent, I am drawn to her because of her past. Some of you may or may not know of my own abusive relationship, but what makes her past even more heartbreaking is that her abuser was her own father. Dear God, I cannot imagine. Here is a song she wrote concerning that part of her life, and wow does she ever do an awesome job on this song! It's amazing! Look for it to climb the ladder when she becomes famous!

So here's to you, Crystal!!! May God be with you every step of your journey...wherever it takes you, girl.

Smile Be sweet - smile - and have a great day!

@JustBrooke,
JustBrooke, welcome back. I have never watched American Idol, but I got a mite misty eyed (as edgar would say)learning about Crystal's abusive relationship. I did not know about yours, honey. Farmer's Daughter tells it like it is. Both of you are lovely and talented. Often bad things happen to creative people.

Not to make light of yours and Crystal's problems, but I just happened to have this one ready to play by B.J.

I had a really bad experience today, so I need lightening up a bit myself.

@JustBrooke,
From my perspective, that kind of damage will last a lifetime. We can only hope we can learn to live with it.
