Good morning, WA2K. Good one, rock. Barry's songs also. Chuck Berry's song is one of his best.

Good morning to you; good morning to you; we're all in our places, with bright shiny faces. (don't ask, 'cause I don't know where that song came from.)

Hey, Rockymoose. Loved that one. Two Gunslingers with Tom Petty cover was great. Thanks, Kansas.

My word, Brit, I Love Rock 'n Roll music. I played it twice to see if I recognized The Beach Boys and Frankie Avalon. I didn't even recognize Etta James.

Also enjoyed Thomas Cray's Smoking Gun, London. (that title reminds me of my Irish friend from Northern Ireland)

Thanks, also, for Norah Jones and Keith Richards' Love Hurts.

Hmmm, trying to decide which Greewich Village you made reference to. NYC? If so, been there, buddy. I'm certain that it must be the one in England, however.

Hey, edgar. Thanks again for commenting, Texas.

Well, today is Sir Elton John's birthday. Love that man! Here are two songs by him, y'all.

Made in England.

Not everyone's cup of tea, but Johnny Cash always sang America's music. Here's a cover of Tom Petty's Southern Accent

Well, Rockymoose and Panz, you sent me to the archives again. Accents vary in the South. Virginia accents are quite different from the deep South.

A mite bewildered about The Andrew Sisters, however.

Today is Bela Bartok's birthday so how about a little classical, y'all.

Béla Viktor János Bartok (March 25, 1881 " September 26, 1945) was a Hungarian composer and pianist. He is considered to be one of the greatest composers of the 20th century and is regarded, along with Liszt, as his country's greatest composer (Gillies 2001). Through his collection and analytical study of folk music, he was one of the founders of ethnomusicology

@alex240101,
Welcome back, alex. Love Don Ho's tiny bubbles. Speaking of walking outside with a bar of soap, when I was a wee thing we used an empty thread spool to blow bubbles with. Just rub soap on it, add a little water, then blow. Yep, innovation is the key of creativity.

This must be my Mamma's song. Another I don't know why I know it.

@Rockhead,
Once again, Rock, I was doing more research. Thanks again for the Tom Petty song.

High: 73
Low: 63

Wanted to find out more about Do Ho, and came up with this, folks.

Ho, of Chinese, Hawaiian, Portuguese, Dutch, and German descent, was born in the small Honolulu neighborhood of Kaka ako, but he grew up in Kāne ohe on the windward side of the island of Oahu. He was a graduate of the Kamehameha Schools in 1949 and he attended Springfield College in 1950, but returned home to earn a bachelor's degree in sociology at University of Hawai'i in 1953. In 1954 Ho entered the United States Air Force and spent time flying fighter jets in both Texas and Hawaii. He said that when he was stationed at Keesler AFB, he went to the local town of Concord, CA and bought an electronic keyboard from a music store, and recalls, "That's when it all started."

The man died of heart failure after getting a new pace maker.

Well, today is another "blues man's" birthday, so let's hear one by him.

The Elton John songs and the Johnny Cash number are great recordings. That Andrews Sisters song is my favorite by them.

@edgarblythe,
Wow! I love that song, edgar. "..I was so much older then, I'm younger than that now..." fabulous way of thinking about one's life.

I didn't know Paul Miles either, Texas. Just wanted to observe his birthday. Thanks for the comments on the music that we play here.

Have an SOS to my older sister about "I'm forever Blowing Bubbles", incidentally. Didn't know Spike Jones did it, however.

Here's someone I'll bet we all know, y'all. It's Aretha Franklin's birthday.

@Rockhead,

As an arranger for our band I hold the Heartbreakers in high esteem. Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell are amazing at leaving space between the notes.

I played in a trio up in Gainesville Fla some years ago. The singer was don Felder's sister(Eagles). When I showed up at her house she took me downstairs and on the wall, written in pen was Tom Petty's old phone number. I just stood there slack jawed.
