Are you aware that Green Fields was sung in the John Wayne epic, The Alamo?

I once searched for a couple of years to find a Johnny Mathis album that had his version of Hello Young Lovers. I finally found it. It's one of my favorite recordings. It is not on youtube. But, here is the movies version.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K radio and edgar.

Nope, I had no idea that Green Fields was played in that movie. As I observed, the only actor that I recall was Lawrence Harvey. Just found out that the man died at the age of 45 from cancer.

I most certainly recall Hello Young Lovers, however. Loved that movie, Texas.

Elyse, was a new one to me as well. Deed I do was great, however.

Need to do some research on Phil Ochs, buddy. Never heard "..There but for Fortune..." Thanks for the introduction.

Today is Bach's birthday, so I think we shall begin the day with a fantastic classical piece by him.

It was refreshing to get out of my wee studio last evening.

@edgarblythe,
Knew every one of those songs by Dino and The Andrew Sisters. Patty is still alive at 92. Thanks, Texas.

My money is on Eddie. Today is his birthday and although I don't him, he's pretty good.

Two tickets, y'all

Learned something new today. I couldn't hear edgar's original, but I opened it in a new window and it was perfect.

@edgarblythe,
Sorry, edgar. Been having a wee bit of trouble with the equipment.

Thanks for playing that one by The Teen Queens. Don't know them, but Eddie My Love was good.

Today is Matthew Broderick's birthday, and I really liked him in War Games, but I have not seen this movie, and it is powerful.

A bit of info first.

Matthew Broderick (born March 21, 1962) is an American film and stage actor who played the title character in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Nick Tatopoulos in Godzilla and David Lightman in WarGames. He voiced the characters of the adult Simba in The Lion King and The Lion King II: Simba's Pride. He voiced Tack the Cobbler in The Thief and the Cobbler, Adam Flaymen in Bee Movie, alongside Jerry Seinfeld, and Despereaux in The Tale of Despereaux. He played Leo Bloom in the film and Broadway productions of The Producers, and Colonel Robert Gould Shaw in the Civil War drama Glory.

I took my family to see Mary Poppins when it hit the theaters. I and my son loved it. His Mom was bored.

@edgarblythe,
Hee, hee. I promise our listeners we will NOT play Alvin and the Chip"monks', edgar. Love that version of Teresa's Hoola Hoop, buddy.

Hmmm, more Sunday games, folks.

@edgarblythe,
Now there's a game that isn't fun, edgar. Like the message that Skip a Rope broadcasts.

Same with this one, Texas.

There's a book called Games People Play. Need to check that out.

@edgarblythe,
I did some research on your instrumental, and it seems as though it was a case of injustice, edgar. The melody was lovely and sad at the same time. Thanks, buddy.

We've done rather well considering there was just two of us today.

Time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I shall do so with a culmination of Sunday. I love this hymn.

Hope our Izzie arrives safely home tomorrow and that all of her crew do as well.

From Letty with love to all
