Wow, panz. That "Baby Come Back" was great.

edgar, loved your comment about Dizzy World. Funny, Texas.

Bud once told me that Grandpa Jones played great piano, but I couldn't find any of his piano music, I'm afraid. I know "Here Rattler".

Thanks for the photo's, panz.

Here's one of my favorite One Hit Wonders. My daughter gave me the CD.

@panzade,
Sure does, panz.

Well, y'all, I'm going to say goodnight a bit early as it's been a trying day for me.

It was a choice between Memories by The Lettermen or this one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0Sogh1NzEU&feature=related

and the lyrics.

Waking skies at sunrise,
every sunset, too,
seems to be bringing me
memories of you.

Here and there, everywhere,
scenes that we once knew.
And they all just recall
memories of you.

How I wish I could forget
those happy yesteryears
that have left
a rosary of tears.

Your face beams in my dreams
spite of all I do.
Everything seems to bring
memories of you.
Those memories of you.

Goodnight, all.

From Letty with love

Good morning, WA2K radio folks.

edgar, Love Star Dust, Texas, especially the verse. Hoagy wrote beautiful songs. Thanks.

Rock, Love that umbrella song. I know it! Thanks for another Dizzy memory.

Izzie, Jack Johnson is a great vocalist, and Bubble Toes was a great song. Visuals were funny. Thanks, hun. Also enjoyed Banana Pancakes. (I had plain ole pancakes for breakfast)

Hey, Brit. Love that song, Listen to the Radio. Great visuals as well. I listened and watched twice. Love the rear view projection as well. Funnneeee, London. I'm going to see if I can see in giant gulls here.

Today is Catherine Deveune's birthday, and speaking of umbrellas (we used to call them bumbershoots)

This one is from the movie, Umbrellas of Cherbourg; lyrics to the song were written by Michel LeGrand. (love him)

Here are the English lyrics.

If it takes forever, I will wait for you
For a thousand summers, I will wait for you
Till you're back beside me, till I'm holding you
Till I hear you sigh, here in my arms

Anywhere you wander, anywhere you go
Everyday remember, how I love you so
In your heart believe, what in my heart I know
That forevermore, I'll wait for you

The clock will tick away the hours one by one
Then the time will come when all the waiting's done
The time when you return and find me here and run
Straight to my waiting arms

If it takes forever, I will wait for you
For a thousand summers, I will wait for you
Till you're here beside me, till I'm touching you
And forevermore, sharing our love

Till your here beside me, till I'm touching you
And forevermore, I will wait for you

@Izzie,
Izzie, that Morecambre and Wise video was hilarious. Especially enjoyed the imitation of Gene Kelly's Singing in the Rain. Thanks, hun, and a virtual hug for you as well. We'll have to dedicate that portion of the breakfast funny to our Reyn.

Well, today is Liszt's birthday, y'all, so here is our classical piece for today.

This gal is fantastic.

I have this sung by Peggy Lee.
Jung Lin is very talented.

Well, here is Frank Mills.

@edgarblythe,
Didn't know that Peggy Lee sang that one, edgar.

Do not know that one from Hair either. Did some research, and I'm not quite certain about the 1979 version. Was that a movie or a stage production.

Well, folks, another surprise for your PD/producer. If I knew it at one time, it slipped my mind. Surprised, anyone?

Michel Legrand wrote "Windmills of Your Mind."

Here is his version in French, followed by the English lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnJWtUfHH-o&feature=related

Round
Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever-spinning reel
Like a snowball down a mountain
Or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel thats turning
Running rings around the moon
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Like a tunnel that you follow
To a tunnel of its own
Down a hollow to a cavern
Where the sun has never shone
Like a door that keeps revolving
In a half-forgotten dream
Or the ripples from a pebble
Someone tosses in a stream
Like a clock whose hands are sweeping
Past the minutes of its face
And the world is like an apple
Whirling silently in space
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

Keys that jingle in your pocket
Words that jangle in your head
Why did summer go so quickly?
Was it something that you said?
Lovers walk along a shore
And leave their footprints in the sand
Is the sound of distant drumming
Just the fingers of your hand?
Pictures hanging in a hallway
And the fragment of a song
Half-remembered names and faces
But to whom do they belong?
When you knew that it was over
You were suddenly aware
That the autumn leaves were turning
To the colour of her hair

Like a circle in a spiral
Like a wheel within a wheel
Never ending or beginning
On an ever-spinning reel
As the images unwind
Like the circles that you find
In the windmills of your mind

The Hair tunes I have ben playing lately are from the original stage cast. Much of that music did not get included in the movie.

I used to hear Windmills of Your Mind on the radio now and then, but can't recall the artist. It was an English version.

@edgarblythe,
Sting did Windmills in the movie The Thomas Crown Affair, edgar, but a lot of others did it as well.

More synchronicity, y'all. Today is Sarah Bernhardt's birthday, so here is a tribute to her.

Bix Beiderbecke was a monster cornetist in the 20's, but one of his most amazing and modern tunes was composed on the piano. It's called In A Mist.

Here's the original version and then Michel Legrande's jazzed up version accompanied by some fine dancing

@panzade,
Wow, panz. I just researched Bix and found out that he died at a young age. I vaguely recall reading a book about him, but don't recall the details. That In a Mist jazz version by Gene and Cyd was a total surprise as well. Legrand was fabulous!

Well, buddy, I want you to know that you led me to a song that I have been trying to find for ages. Tony Martin was married to Cyd, and he is STILL alive. Sheeeeze, folks. When my American eskimo dog Domino was still alive, my older sister sang the first few lines and the song has haunted me ever since.

Domino by Tony.

I now declare you and edgar to be our resident musicologists.
