Missed edgar's A Dylan Christmas. Thanks, Texas. Listened to Here Comes Santa Claus. Funny, buddy. I do believe that Bob is a man for all seasons.

JPB, loved the Latin Rock songs. I think I do understand a couple of those in Spanish. "The River of Mistique?" Castillian Spanish, of course.

You have a good day, too, Chicago.

Glad that our Rocky moose is all right.

Today is Tanya Roberts' birthday, sooooo more James Bond with Roger Moore.

Tribute with Duran Duran, and other contributions by other radio folk appreciated. Too much to individually acknowledge.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, Love that song by Tim Hardin. Just found out that he died at around thirty nine years of age.

Today is Richard Carpenter's birthday, and as most of us know he lost his sister Karen to Anorexia nervosa. Odd how these things turn out.

er, just found out that I'm not the world's worse speller.

My goodness, y'all, Always Eleven is leaving A2K. Sorry to hear that.

Carpenters had a great career. Lots of good music.

CNN) -- Garth Brooks, one of the biggest country stars of all time, said Thursday he was coming out of retirement after nine years away from the music business.

Brooks made the announcement at a press conference at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

A larger press conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET Thursday from a different, undisclosed location, to which Brooks was transporting a number of members of the news media.

However, the singer will not be announcing a tour, according to spokeswoman Nancy Seltzer.

"If he tours again, it still won't be until his youngest goes to college," Seltzer told CNN via text message.

Brooks, 47, was one of country's biggest stars in the 1990s. His albums, including "Ropin' the Wind," "The Chase" and "In Pieces," sold in excess of 100 million copies, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.

Brooks also was renowned for his concerts, which were marathon affairs in which he drove himself and his band with incredible energy.

Brooks has had his missteps, most notably a 1999 concept

@edgarblythe,
Glad Garth is out of retirement, edgar. Love that "Friends in Low Places." Just realized that he did "Ain't Goin Down til the Sun Comes Up."

I was trying to find another song by the title of "All Night Long" that I heard on my car radio, and although this is NOT the one folks, it is rather good. Perhaps later I'll find the one that I heard earlier.

@panzade,
Great version of that song, panz, but the one that I had in mind was one with minor key changes and a different rhythm.

Wonder if Montie is kin to Bobbie, y'all. We remember her best for Ode to Billy Joe, but this one with Glen is good.

I listened to your and panzade's songs earlier, but got caught up in the runaway balloon story after that. I'm not sure where I remember Elusive Dreams from, but it's nice by Glenn and Bobbie.

@edgarblythe,
well, edgar, I've been watching and reading the story from both you and the koolaid man. Hmmm, it may have been a stunt.

Maybe there were toys in the attic. Remember that one, Texas?

Well, folks, here's a lady who knows something.

The six year old's stunt went over like a lead balloon.

A little background on this duo
Quote:
Montgomery Gentry is an American country music duo composed of vocalists Eddie Montgomery (brother of country singer John Michael Montgomery) and Troy Gentry.

Both brothers and Gentry were originally members of a country band which had local success in clubs throughout the state of Kentucky. After John Michael left for a solo career, Eddie and Troy Gentry began performing as a duo.

Well, the red balloons was pretty good. Stairway to Heaven is about the only Zeppelin song I know. It's a good one. My wife and I listen to Lionel Richie regularly. We like him very much.
