Good morning, radio folk. My thoughts are with you and your boy, letty.

Looks like the drought will end this week. The tropical weather is expected to generate lots of rain here this week. See ya all this PM.

Waiting is unbearable, edgar. Have heard nothing.

Calming music and a tribute to Robert De Niro whose birthday is today. One of my favorite movies starring the man was The Untouchables.

First, the calm before the storm, y'all.

Now, the trailer of the Untouchables.

Watching De Niro/Al Capone cry as he listened to Caruso was fabulous.

@dyslexia,
Good morning, dys. My sister told me the name of Betty happened when I started school.

Love the song and the visual, but especially liked the white wolf, the Indian maiden, and the dream catcher.

Strange, my mom had these two pictures hanging in her home in Virginia.

If John Lennon had done just that one song (Imagine), he would be immortal in the song world.

@edgarblythe,
Loved Never Say Goodbye by the "jester", edgar, and the visual was really awesome. The Spanish sub titles were a great addition.

Kinda strange, y'all. Yesterday was Fess Parker's birthday, and today is Davy Crockett's birthday. "...born on a mountain top in Tennessee.." and I just heard from my daughter saying what a wonderful Tennessee hospital my boy was in. Wrote her back with the lyrics to The Stockade Blues, and found this one by Marty Robbins.

This is Dave "Baby" Cortez
The Happy Organ
They played this on the radio quite a bit in the late 50s or early 60s.

@edgarblythe,
My word, edgar, that Happy Organ is an upscale version of Shortnin Bread. I love a cathedral type pipe organ, so who better to give the song some dignity than Paul Robeson. Odd, folks, we have done Enrico Caruso today via the Untouchables, and he and Paul where cited as the best singers of all times.

Ian Tyson, one time folk singer, now sings about cowboys.

Robeson and Caruso can't be matched, for sure, letty.

@edgarblythe,
Don't know Ian Tyson, edgar, but that Big Horn Sky was great. Since he was born in British Colombia, we'll dedicate that one to our Reyn.

More serendipity, folks. Here is a blues singer that sings about Chicago from Houston.

A friend of mine was a great Buddy Guy fan. He gave me CDs made off his computer - all Buddy.
Well, Johnny Mathis is a stranger; take his hand.

@edgarblythe,
edgar, that was a very clever way to introduce Johnny's Stranger in Paradise, and since Matt Monroe did that one as well, I think I shall say goodnight with this one.

Been a long day and I am tired, but I doubt that I shall sleep.

Where is that place, Matt?

Hey, Brit. I responded. Hope things are well across the big pond. Thinking about Endy today. He lives somewhere there, too.

Mornin' edgar. Wow! Jerry Lee looks great, and the influences in his life are quite interesting. Just noticed that Al Jolson was one of them. Ah, his mom's upright piano. Such memories, and I love that song "Together Again".

Speaking of memories, today is Robert Redford's birthday, so here's one for him.
