Good Morning, WA2K radio audience.

edgar, That song by Three Dog Night was new to me. Obviously The Road to Shambala was East Indian and all of those folks look soooo similar to my honest to goodness friends here. What happened to Prince Gautam?

Urs, Welcome back. Love that song by Journey. Wow! the lead singer is Filipino. As I discussed with Soccer George, often it is hard for me to distinguish certain Orientals. Hope you and the dice man are doing well.

I woke up to this song from Without a Trace. Didn't quite understand the plot, and after researching, still don't. Maybe Wandel's daughter can explain.

David Bowie, y'all

background on the song

Such a sad song... if you don't know what it's about then here:
This tells the story of Major Tom, an astronaut who cuts off communication with Earth and floats into space,whose remains will travel the galaxy alone forever. It was released at the same time as the first moon landing.

Liked both Spanish Strolls, Brit, but it wasn't Sir Elton, it was David Bowie.

Think that we've all been out in the sun too long, either that or Barry the Brit stayed up too late at Hyde Park. Did Izzie and FQ make it all right?

Here's a Saturday song by The Eels. (I did have pancakes for breakfast at about six o'clock, too)

And edgar's Marty song as well, y'all.

Like the Eel song. Unforgettable is of course one of the great recordings. There are several wonderful versions, but none beats this one.

@edgarblythe,
Heh, heh. I do believe that Jerry Lee made that one politically correct, edgar, but I love that song, buddy, and thanks.

Here's Brook Benton singing about the boll weevil, y'all.

Hey, Brit, I love Sarah Smile by Hall and Oats. My kids used to say, "..nobody doesn't like, *****Lee. Razz So glad your daughter will be at the gathering, hun.

Rock, I am happy that you remembered the Captain. I enjoyed him as much as my kids did. Thanks for the ping pong parade, Indiana, and, of course, the moose.

Here's a more solemn tribute to the man of many talents.

@Barry The Mod,
I didn't realize that Dan fogelberg had done that one, Brit. Love it! Well, buddy, I could have done the balcony scene from Romeo and Juliet. (your bard, ya know) but how about a response to your rhythm with a little dixieland jazz?

Today is the birthday of Doc Pomus. He wrote This Magic Moment, Little Sister (Elvis), Save the Last Dance For Me, Teenager in Love, and quite a few other well known rock songs. He had a writing partner most of the time, name of Mort Shuman.

@edgarblythe,
Hey, Texas. thanks for the info on Doc Pomus. I recall quite well This Magic Moment. Also, edgar, thanks for the acknowledgements to our mix of music.

Here's another "magic" song and notice the aphorisms at the bottom of the video, folks.

Our aphorism for today is:

Life without music would be a mistake.
