@Letty,
The march from "Captain From Castile" is USC Trojan's fight song and appropriately entitled "Conquest" for, obviously, the Spaniards conquering the Aztec nation and not too honorably (an understatement).

thanks, dj, for all the dance songs from Magnetic Fields. Also liked the Dream song, Canada.the Beatles were great to demonstrate "two" as well.

Ah, goodnight, Brit, and thanks for adding to the change songs. Perhaps it will.

Mr. Wizard, I didn't realize that, but didn't the Aztec people make human sacrifices?

Time for me to say goodnight to the end of a great day of discussion and tributes.

Anyone recall the Mike Hammer series?

Love this one that was the theme for the star, Stacy Keach.Harlem Nocturne.

I like that tribute to Tyrone Power, and the song by Dinah Washington was great. Mike Hammer - I liked Stacy, but generally quit watching when the beautiful women inexplicably threw themselves at him like that.
Thanks Barry and also the wiz for doing so much.

@edgarblythe,
Good morning, WA2K folks.

edgar, Dom Deluise's tribute was sad but funny in a way. Thanks, Texas. He was in Mel Brooks' "Blazing Saddles" but I couldn't find the proper clip.

Love that soul song by Jerry Butler. "....I honestly love you...." Makes one feel that his song is from the heart. Incidentally, thanks for the acknowledgment.

Guess whose birthday is today, y'all.

I did Harlem Nocturne because it was a night song and because I have still not discovered why Blatty called his book/movie, The Ninth Configuration. Stacy Keach did "Killer Kane" in that movie.

My word, Valentino did Blood and Sand as well.

letty, that Jerry Butler song was originally popularized by Olivia Newton John.
The Valentino tribute covered a great career. Nice music.

@Barry The Mod,
Wow! Brit. I didn't know about Clement Freud. Fantastic video and the bit at the end about the man in the throws of a seizure, "...he didn't do it well enough.." proved Freud's ability to recognize a fake when he saw it. Thanks, ModMan..

Well, folks, today is experimental and psych day on WA2K. Harlow and Harlow decided that they were going to prove or disprove Freud's idea when he observed that babies bonded with the mother because she provided the food for life. What they discovered, was something more valuable and is referred to as serendipity.

Incidentally, what they called "insecurity" is really fear

@Lightwizard,
Remember, Play Misty for Me, Mr. Wizard? I love both of those versions of the song, Thanks. I think most of us agree that music has a certain psychological effect.

Still thinking of Freud. In the movie Forbidden Planet, the monster was really Morpheus' id. When he slept it was released.

Ah, the id, the ego, and the super ego. The balance between them is the key.

@edgarblythe,
I read quite a bit by and about Freud, mainly when in my twenties. I sort of leaned to the thinking of C G Jung, who worked with Sigmund and then went his own way. I didn't understand much of Jung's work, but Phillip Wylie explained it well enough in a popularized version, which Jung endorsed.

Here is something German - of course...

Udo Lindenberg has been around forever, it seems. He is part of my childhood and teenage years.
