I looked for Francis song but also could not find it. I am chagrined. I offer instead Edith Piaf singing one of her best.

non,je ne regrette rien

Edith Piaf

Ah, me. One whiskey sour didn't give me the ability to suddenly translate, Bob.

Of course George can read minds, listeners. That soccer ball is just a cover for a crystal ball.

I can read your palm, if you like.

I was born in the wagon of a travellin' show
My mama used to dance for the money they'd throw
Papa would do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel, sell a couple bottles of doctor good

Chorus
Gypsys, tramps, and thieves
We'd hear it from the people of the town
They'd call us gypsys, tramps, and thieves
But every night all the men would come around
And lay their money down

Picked up a boy just south of mobile
Gave him a ride, filled him with a hot meal
I was sixteen, he was twenty-one
Rode with us to memphis
And papa woulda shot him if he knew what he'd done

Chorus

I never had schoolin' but he taught me well
With his smooth southern style
Three months later I'm a gal in trouble
And I haven't seen him for a while, uh-huh
I haven't seen him for a while, uh-huh

She was born in the wagon of a travellin' show
Her mama had to dance for the money they'd throw
Grandpa'd do whatever he could
Preach a little gospel, sell a couple bottles of doctor good

Chorus chorus fades

Rudolph Pleads Guilty in Olympic Bombing
(AP) - A defiant Eric Rudolph pleaded guilty Wednesday to carrying out the deadly bombing at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics and three other attacks, saying he picked the Summer Games to embarrass the U.S. government in front of the world "for its abominable sanctioning of abortion on demand." "Because I believe that abortion is murder, I also believe that force is justified ... in an attempt to stop it," he said in a statement handed out by his lawyers after he entered his pleas in back-to-back court appearances, first in Birmingham, Ala., in the morning, then in Atlanta in the afternoon. More...
Why Did Rudolph Do It? (CNN) | Timeline

As a matter of fact, listeners, he pled guilty to a bunch of bombings.

Don't know if our European listeners know about this man, but he was finally caught rumaging through garbage cans and surrended to police without a fight.

In other words, he believes that to stop "murder", murder is justified.

Right, edgar. Wonder when the lights will go on again all over the world?

Invited Booman here. He's been away awhile and I'm certain that he will want to tell us about his adventures.

Later, my dear friends. Feel a wee bit down tonight.

From Letty with love.

Good morning Vietnam. Bob that's the wrong intro. Oops! Sorry but you already know pre coffee Bob's are no good. Post coffee's not much different. Ah shuddup. Ladies and gentlemen (ain't none of those here) with apologies to my friend Francis I offer this talented composition for the French thread.

Allan Sherman

You Went The Wrong Way Old King Louie

You Went The Wrong Way, Old King Louie
Louis the Sixteenth was the King of France in 1789.
He was worse than Louis the Fifteenth.
He was worse than Louis the Fourteenth.
He was worse than Louis the Thirteenth.
He was the worst since Louis the First.
King Louis was living like a king, but the people were living rotten.
So the people, they started an uprising which they called the
French Revolution, and of course you remember their battle cry,
which will never be forgotten:
You went the wrong way, Old King Louie.
You made the population cry.
'Cause all you did was sit and pet
With Marie Antoinette
In your place at Versailles.
And now the country's gone kablooie.
So we are giving you the air.
That oughta teach you not to
Spend all your time fooling 'round
At the Folies Bergere.
If you had been a nicer king,
We wouldn't do a thing,
But you were bad, you must admit.
We're gonna take you and the Queen
Down to the guillotine,
And shorten you a little bit.
You came the wrong way, Old King Louie.
And now you ain't got far to go.
Too bad you won't be here to see
That great big Eiffel Tower,
Or Brigitte Bardot.
To you King Louie we say fooey.
You disappointed all of France.
But then what else could we expect
From a king in silk stockings
And pink satin pants.
You filled your stomach with chop suey.
And also crepe suzettes and steak.
And when they told your wife Marie
That nobody had bread, she said
"Let 'em eat cake."
We're gonna take you and the Queen
Down to the guillotine,
It's somewhere in the heart of town.
And when that fella's through
With what he's gonna do,
You'll have no place to hang your crown.
You came the wrong way Old King Louie.
Now we must put you on the shelf.
That's why the people are revolting, 'cause Louie,
You're pretty revolting yourself!

Good Morning to Vietnam; WA2K; Bob and Allan.

Bob's lyrics to old King Louie reminded me of a 60's song by The Kingston Trio, but when I searched it out, I found the most unbelievable history of that song, and the FCC would yank our license right away if I aired it; however, I find that these are the ones that I recall:

Louie Louie, oh baby, me gotta go.
Louie Louie, oh baby, me gotta go.
A fine little girl, she waits for me.
Me catch the ship across the sea.
I sailed the ship all alone.
I never think I'll make it home.

Louie Louie, me gotta go.
Three nights and days we sailed the sea.
Me think of girl constantly.
On the ship, I dream she there.
I smell the rose in her hair.

Louie Louie, me gotta go.
Me see Jamaican moon above.
It won't be long me see me love.
Me take her in my arms and then
I tell her I never leave again.

Louie Louie, oh baby, I said we gotta go.

Well, listeners, regardless, we shan't lose our head over such trivial things.

My, my, listeners. Isn't our Bob of Boston punny this morning. It must be the coffee. Speaking of Brazilian stuff, it seems the cardinals may be considering the main man from Brazil for the next pope.

Osso, I also checked out Kaas, but unfortunately have never heard of her either. Well, we learn a lot here on WA2K radio, do we not?

Lovin' Up A Storm

When our kisses fly like oak leaves

Caught in a gust of wind

My heart beats fast, a clickty-clack

Like a train goin' round a bend

I call that Lovin' Up a Storm!

I said that's Lovin Up a Storm!

Well its good for you honey

It won't do you no harm

Ah when a we get with it darlin'

All I can hear is a sigh

Something touches you deep in your heart

Like it's lightin' from the sky

I call that Lovin' Up a Storm!

Whoaa Lovin Up a Storm!

Well its good for you baby

It won't do you no harm

Ohhhhh!

solo

When we're embracing darlin'

I get wild as a hurricane

Ah when we kiss Great Balls of Fire!

Ice-water's running through my veins

I call that Lovin' Up a Storm!

Ohhh Lovin Up a Storm!

Well its good for you baby

It won't do you no harm

Well its good for you baby

It won't do you no harm

Oh... It's good for you baby

It won't do you no harm

and good morning to edgar. Please, please! You said the H word via Jerry Lee. Great balls of fire!

It's wonderful to see the sun creeping through my blinds, listeners. Perhaps today will be a good one for all of us around the world.

I've been around the world - hey, hey
I've been around the world - hey, hey

In the kitchen where I'm cooking what is good for me
Spices from the globe
Little by little it's the finest meal
It's appetite for hope - come and see

You mix it all together in your dreams
Ingredients from the seven seas and
I'm realizing things ain't what they seem
That's the riddle of it
That's the spirit of it
That's the power of life

I've been around the world (round the world)
And I've seen it all (seen it all)
I've been around the world (round the world)
The sun will always rise and fall
I've been around the world (round the world)
And I want you to see (seen it all)
I've been the only girl (round the world)
All surrounded by mystery

In the living room I'm cleaning up from top to floor
The place I love the most
The wall is covered up with all my souvenirs
I've got from coast to coast - come and see

You mix it all together in your dreams
Ingredients from the seven seas and
I'm realizing things ain't what they seem
That's the riddle of it
That's the spirit of it
That's the power of life

I've been around the world (round the world)
And I've seen it all (seen it all)
I've been around the world (round the world)
The sun will always rise and fall
I've been around the world (round the world)
And I want you to see (seen it all)
I've been the only girl (round the world)
All surrounded by mystery

I'm still coming around
I keep chasing dreams
Girl, I keep coming around - hey, hey
I keep coming around
And I can never stop
Girl, I keep coming around
Cause if I do I'll walk
Around around - around the world

I've been around the world (round the world)
Hey hey (seen it all)
I've been around the world (round the world)
All surrounded by mystery
I've been around the world (round the world)
And I've seen it all (seen it all)
I've been around the world (round the world)
The sun will always rise and fall
Round the world

Good morning, noon, to Francis.

Great picture! Thanks, and I'll go back to the site that I found last night and see if I can find one of her songs. I'm not certain why, listeners, it is becoming more difficult to locate things in the archives.

My word, I had forgotten that George had already shown us that song.

Well, it's easy to remember and so hard to forget. Hey, that's a great tune, listeners. Back later with the lyrics.

As requested:

Your sweet expression, the smile you gave me, the way you looked when we met,
It's easy to remember, but so hard to forget.
I hear you whisper, I'll always love you, I know it's over and yet,
It's easy to remember, but so hard to forget.
So I must dream to have your hands caress me, fingers press me tight,
I'd rather dream than have that lonely feeling stealing through the night.
Each little moment is clear before me, and though it brings me regret,
It's easy to remember but so hard to forget.

I was surprised to find out that Ray Charles did that melody as well, listeners.

When you were sweet sixteen
When first I saw the love light in your eye
I dreamt the world held naught but joy for me
And even though we drifled far apart
I never dream, but what I dream of thee

I love you as I never loved before
Since first I met you on the village green
Come to me or my dream of love is o'er
I love you as I loved you,
When you were sweet
When you were sweet sixteen
Last night I dreamt I held your hand in mine
And once again you were my happy bride
I kissed you as I did in Auld Lang Syne
As to the church we wandered side by side

I love you as I never loved before
Since first I met you on the village green
Come to me or my dream of love is o'er
I love you as I loved you,
When you were sweet
When you were sweet sixteen
