@dyslexia,
I Love Debussy, dys. I used to think that "faun" was a fawn.

Poem for today on WA2K

e.e. cummings "in just-spring"

in Just-
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman
whistles far and wee
and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it's
spring
when the world is puddle-wonderful
the queer
old balloonman whistles
far and wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing
from hop-scotch and jump-rope and
it's
spring
and
the
goat-footed
balloonMan whistles
far
and
wee

That goat-footed balloon man is a satyr, incidentally.

More Debussy, folks.

Thanks, Brit. Good to have me back again.

@Barry The Mod,
Ah, Brit. Love the Maid With the Flaxen Hair in the style of Tomita. Merci!

Well, folks it looks as though Debussy is the homme du jour.

Here's Le Mer replete with paintings.

been away a long time, might not be back for awhile, but here's a cool late 60's number by the Youngbloods. the album recording is much superior, but this live performance is still fun. Cool

Dido - Here With Me

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTvccE7HPpI

I didn't hear you leave
I wonder how am I still here
And I don't want to move a thing
It might change my memory

Oh I am what I am
I do what I want
But I can't hide

And I won't go
I won't sleep
I can't breathe
Until you're resting here with me

And I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting here with me

I don't want to call my friends
For they might wake me from this dream
And I can't leave this bed
Risk forgetting all that's been

Oh I am what I am
I do what I want
But I can't hide

And I won't go
I won't sleep
I can't breathe
Until you're resting here with me

I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting here

I won't go
And I won't sleep
And I can't breathe
Until you're resting here with me

And I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting here with me

Oh I am what I am
I do what I want
But I can't hide

And I won't go
I won't sleep
And I can't breathe
Until you're resting here with me

I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting here

And I won't go
And I won't sleep
And I can't breathe
Until you're resting here with me

I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting here with me

Wishing all at WA2K a wonderful weekend Very Happy

@Letty,
are you sure you're not Hawaiian, Ms. PD? that beautiful song was composed by Queen Lili`uokalani, the last Hawaiian monarch.

Izzie, I am delighted for you, and your lovely song by dido was delightful; Stay happy lovely lady.

edgar, Let us know that you have arrived safely in Dallas.

honu, I feel Hawaiian for many reasons. I read James Michner's book two or three times and pictured every thing in my mind.

Time for me to say goodnight (not goodbye) and although there is no moon showing here, I can't think of a better way to end the evening than with this lovely classical piece by Debussy.

Ah, everyone is either gone for the weekend or followed edgar to Dallas.

Went to sleep with a classical piece so how about a couple of awakening songs for today.

First, Classical Gas, y'all.

And now a Russian classic.

@Izzie,
Wonderful song by Ben, Izzie. I just discovered that he died of pancreatic cancer. He was great and that makes it doubly sad. Thanks, gal.

Today is Timothy Dalton's birthday, and he played James Bond in "The Living Daylights." If I saw that version, I don't remember it, y'all, but here is the theme from that movie.

Good morning all.

Eerie! I just finished recording for a friend a CD of 20 Hawaiian songs and another of my favorite classical music - among those songs, Clair de Lune and Pictures at an Exhibition which for some reason I haven't listened to for a long time. And it's Mussorgsky's birthday today.

Sorry I wasn't able to make it here yesterday.

Here are some of today's birthdays:

1685 - Johann Sebastian Bach, German composer (d. 1750) ; 1839 - Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky, Russian composer (d. 1881); 1869 - Florenz Ziegfeld, theater producer (d. 1932) ; 1930 - James Coco, actor (d. 1987); 1934 - Al Freeman, Jr., American actor ; 1946 - Timothy Dalton, British actor ; 1949 - Eddie Money, American musician ; 1958 - Gary Oldman, English actor ; 1962 - Matthew Broderick, American actor ; and 1962 - Rosie O'Donnell, American comedian, actress, talk show host, and publisher

James Coco, Timothy Dalton, Gary Oldman, Matthew Broderick

@Raggedyaggie,
Welcome back, puppy. Can you read my mind or can I read yours.

Delightful quartet of famous faces, PA, and I am always fascinated with the added info.

Oh, my, I think Of Matthew and War Games. (the best way to win is not to play) He was also in Ladyhawke, I think.

Never heard this fellow, but I'll bet his "Two Tickets to Paradise" means that he is going to Hawaii; right y'all?
