Raggedy, thank you for the Walt Disney memories, and I love Donkey Serenade, PA.

dj, welcome back, buddy. Artificial Flowers was rather sad, Canada, and I think You Just Can't Smile it away is very true. Thanks you, too.

Well, time for me to say goodnight, and I think that I will let Nat do it for me.

Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

Rock, that was a fabulous jazz version of Paper Moon. Thanks, buddy, and let's hope this weekend will be great for everyone. I have a house full of guests today including a dog. Razz

edgar, that little novelty song was delightful. Ah, those baby sounds bring back some memories, right?

It seems that today is the birthday of a Byrd, so let's hear a very familiar one by him.

Aha. Now I recall about Nina and I still do not agree with her that jazz is only connected with the black community. As I once observed, there are a lot of fine white jazz artists. I suppose it was the times that made her so sensitive.

this she say that? twouldn't surprise me if she did, but to me that's not much different from saying only white folk can play baroque. regardless, Love me or leave me was nice.

er, red, white, and blue? he certainly has the knack of making 2:23 seem a *lot* longer. Razz it's amusing, but wouldn't want to hear it more than 1x or 2x a year. based on all those comments on youtube, i guess it's the music to main street electrical parade, but it's been a long time since i visited the house the mouse built. Hey, big island man. Your sense of humor is shinning through. You're right, however. The moog synthesizer was terrible.

This is probably Vickie Carr's biggest record.

Today is also the birthday of the artist, Edgar Degas. When I think of Degas, I am immediately reminded of his sculptures and paintings of ballet dancers. So, this clip, with two of the very best, is for him.

Lately I was thinking about this song, written by Pete Seeger and just wanted to hear it again.

And, after listening to that one, I wanted to hear this one, particularly with this guest singer.

I haved always loved that man, edgar. That's a lovely song.

I first became aware of Ladysmith Black Mambazo when I saw them in live performance with Belafonte. I particularly like this version of this song with the Mint Juleps.

When my house guests depart, I shall be back to recognize each contributor. I love the variety that we hear on our cyber radio.

I like that one by Vikki, edgar, but this is my favorite.

firefly, that Vivaldi combination was not too bad. Thanks, dear. JPB loves Vivaldi. (don't know if she would like that one, however)

Your Degas reminded me of Monet's impressions of Notre Dame. Alas, I cannot find the one that I sought.

Incidentally, for a wild moment I thought that edgar was going to play Little Jimmy Dickens' Just a plain old Country Boy. Razz

Did you notice there is a video that mistakenly credits Belafonte with The Lion Sleeps Tonight, which Niel Sedaka and the Tokens did?
