An ode to old age

There's quite an art to falling apart as the years go by,
And life doesn't begin at 40. That's a big fat lie.
My hair's getting thinner, my body is not;
The few teeth I have are beginning to rot.

I smell of Vick's-Vapo-Rub, not Chanel # 5;
My new pacemaker's all that keeps me alive.
When asked of my past, every detail I'll know,
But what was I doing 10 minutes ago?

Well, you get the idea, what more can I say?
I'm off to read the obituary, like I do every day;
If my names not there, I'll once again start -
Perfecting the art of falling apart

Thanks for the great bio's ,Mr. Bob. As to your ode, I do believe that I like that one better than Ode to Joy.

What a surprise to find that Gounod wrote this one, folks. Do you recognize it?

Good afternoon. Very Happy

Letty, wasn't that Gounod piece the theme of a TV show. Why am I thinking of the Addams Family?

Welcome back, Francis and Happy father's day. Hmmm, so you have seen What Women Want?

Thank you Miss Letty.

Yes, I've seen it, it was nice.

But I'm an earlier fan of her.

I loved most of her movies, especially Twister.

Francis, I hope that you noticed I finally found "I'll Build a Stairway to Paradise." It was from "An American in Paris". Fantastic.

I saw Twister, but couldn't recall the cast; however, here is a neat video from that movie.

Respect the Wind montage.

I'd have never thought of the Alfred Hitchcock theme, Letty. Laughing

Well, Raggedy, I knew the theme, but did not know from what it was taken.

Saw many of his movies, y'all, and some were poor adaptations of the writings from when he took them. He really changed the code of what was presentable with Psycho.

Well, he deserves a tribute, however.

Well, folks. It's been a brother and sister act tonight.

Thanks, tai and dj. Almost every country was represented.

Those done by the Irish we'll dedicate to Mike whose daughter recently graduated summa cum laude.

And speaking of brother and sister, I am so happy to know that my two are well and not fighting. Razz

Time for me to say goodnight, and my song will be one of Texas. My neighbor, Jerry, across the street is seriously ill, and I hope you will think of him tonight.

Also, we'll dedicate this one to edgar as well. (glad it's not a real tornado)

Goodnight, all.

From Letty with love
