Good morning, WA2K listening audience.

My, my. Our hawkman is up early this morning. Thanks, Bob, for the bio's. Your observations about the English language are humorous, but so true.

I thought today might be a good time to observe all the great actors and actresses of the past with a special tribute, folks.

Incidentally, the baby moorhens are in tact and running after mamma. No sign of Mr. alligator.

I'm here, Raggedy, and thanks for the great quartet. I am not getting alerts for our cyber radio station, PA, but I figured you might see Johnny and Maureen and react.

I noticed that Calamity Jane had never seen this movie, but admires Rudger Hauer, as do I. So here is the great theme from Ladyhawke.

I think I will be a rascal and dedicate this song to Montana. Those who have been following her threads will know what I mean.

I have not seen the Ladyhawke movie. The opening music sounds good.

Ladyhawke is delightful, edgar. Never cared for Bladerunner, however.

I'll have to alert Montana to your dedication, Texas. She'll appreciate it.

In the meantime, folks, let's hear one by Hank, Jr. which addresses the present subject.

Cool song, Edgar. loved Buddy holly...but adored Linda R. and her version. I

I'm following along with Montana/TTH situation. I sure hope her temporary departure is short lived.

Duet
Speaking of Linda Ronstadt, here's one of my all-time favorites - a duet of Bonnie Raitt and her singing "Blowing Away":

I know Edgar...I didn't take it that way.

Here's one more great HUGE song of Linda's...it's pretty apt for what's going on now. Montana..and for all those who feel a little blue ... this one's for you :

This has been Montana day, folks, and that's as it should be. All of us here have been "somebody's fool" at one time or another. Damn, y'all, when I was a teenager, I thought the world was over if this boy or that boy didn't love me back. I look back with a smile now and realize how silly it all was.

When one becomes an adult, it is soooo different. We may bleed easily, but we clot quickly.

I love Linda's jazz collection, and here is one that is familiar to most of us here on our cyber radio.

with all the talk about lapel flags and patriotism, i thought of this tune

Your Flag Decal Won't Get You Into Heaven Anymore
John Prine

While digesting Reader's Digest
In the back of a dirty book store,
A plastic flag, with gum on the back,
Fell out on the floor.
Well, I picked it up and I ran outside
Slapped it on my window shield,
And if I could see old Betsy Ross
I'd tell her how good I feel.

But your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
They're already overcrowded
From your dirty little war.
Now Jesus don't like killin'
No matter what the reason's for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.

Well, I went to the bank this morning
And the cashier he said to me,
"If you join the Christmas club
We'll give you ten of them flags for free."
Well, I didn't mess around a bit
I took him up on what he said.
And I stuck them stickers all over my car
And one on my wife's forehead.

But your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.
They're already overcrowded
From your dirty little war.
Now Jesus don't like killin'
No matter what the reason's for,
And your flag decal won't get you
Into Heaven any more.

Well, I got my window shield so filled
With flags I couldn't see.
So, I ran the car upside a curb
And right into a tree.
By the time they got a doctor down
I was already dead.
And I'll never understand why the man
Standing in the Pearly Gates said...

No, the decal, in and of itself, will no longer get you there.
