LIVER & CHEESE
Three handsome male dogs are walking down the street when they see a beautiful, enticing, female Poodle.
The three male dogs fall all over themselves in an effort to be the one to reach her first, but end up arriving in front of her at the same time.
The males are speechless before her beauty, slobbering on themselves and hoping for just a glance from her in return.
Aware of her charms and her obvious effect on the three suitors, she decides to be kind and tells them, "The first one who can use the words 'liver' and 'cheese' together in an imaginative, intelligent sentence can go out with me."
The sturdy, muscular black Lab speaks up quickly and says, "I love liver and cheese."
"Oh, how childish," said the Poodle. "That shows no imagination or
intelligence whatsoever."
She turns to the tall, shiny Golden Retriever and says "How well can you do?"
"Um. I HATE liver and cheese," blurts the Golden Retriever.
"My, my," said the Poodle. "I guess it's hopeless. That's just as dumb as
the Lab's sentence."
She then turns to the last of the three dogs and says, "How about you,
little guy?"
The last of the three, tiny in stature but big in fame and finesse, is the
Taco Bell Chihuahua.
He gives her a smile, a sly wink, turns to the Golden Retriever and the Lab and says
(ok this is good)
Liver alone. Cheese mine!

Smothers Brothers perform with Joan Baez.
Glad you are back, Bob. We find out some interesting things from your celeb background, and, of course, you give us a smile with your jokes. Loved the "Liver alone; cheese mine."
edgar, your LeRoy VanDyke song reminded me of both John Rolf and Sir Walter Raleigh. Know why, Texas?
Also, we enjoyed your Joan Baez with the Smothers Brothers. Thanks again. Incidentally, I found the other song, "Supper Time". It was done by Ella Fitzgerald and written by Irving Berlin.
Until our OTHER puppy arrives, I would like to dedicate this to Noddy whose husband is really ill and who inspired me to search this out.

It would have to be the tobacco tie-in. I believe they do or did auction tobacco.
Exactly, edgar.
Well, didn't find the Supper Time by Miss Ella, but I did find this one, folks.

There's our puppy, but she is NOT a poodle.
Thanks, PA, for the sextet. James may have lost his hair, but he's still sexy. Glad the crooner sang you to sleep.
Perfect timing, puppy.

edgar, Bob Dylan is like Bobby Darin. They both sound a little different in every song they sing. That one made me feel a bit pensive, Texas.
How about a little jazz by Liza, y'all.

I like Liza. Here is a song from The Sterile Cuckoo, which starred her.

Wow!, edgar. I know that song, buddy, but had no idea it was done by a group called The Sandpipers.
Know this song from The Sandpiper, however. Pretty jazzy, too.

Hey, hbg. You most certainly may introduce that jazz band. Great! I didn't know that you canucks liked jazz.
Speaking of jazz, folks, I don't usually like drum solos, but Cozy Cole is wonderful.

letty :
in case you thought my "mature listeners only" clip might not be suitable for tender eyes and ears ; they are canada's "barenaked ladies"
and here are some of canada's up and coming jazz musicians ...

(we are waiting for the queen's university jazz band - both big band and small combos to perform later this month)
Lord have mercy, hbg. Those folks weren't bare, nor naked, nor ladies, but I loved the bluegrass.
The promising young folks doing their thing was good, but the acoustics were poor. Don't know if it had to do with the sound set up or what. Glad they are getting into the music market, however.
Now, folks, I had to get approval from the FCC to do the next one, so be prepared. (we did this at a little theater in Virginia)

Time to say goodnight, and I love this one by Billy Joel, as it brings back memories of someone's mother rocking her babies to sleep.
To all those on our forum who have sweet little ones.

Until tomorrow...
From Letty with love
Good evening from Virginia. I am just passing through, as is my want. I am a bit surprised that yall seemed to have missed the 80th birthday Wednesday of the playwright Edward Albee.
His most well-known play is "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolfe." I saw it twice performed by professional actresses, and I left the theatre totally drained.
NPR had an interview with him today (www.npr.org) and there are some actors reading some of his stuff.
Including this line: you are "...up to your ass in dry rot and saw dust." (From Three Tall Women).
Good morning, WA2K radio audience.
Well, John of Virginia, I saw the Wolf movie, and it was rather odd, but I wasn't aware that Edward was 80 years old. Thanks for the reminder. The last live production that I saw was the LSO.
edgar, Conway Twitty reflects the "make believe" in all of us, right? I like his "Hello Darlin".
Today is Neil Sedaka's birthday and although I never cared for him, this one brings back memories.
