Good afternoon to the station with the "mostest" music and entertainment.

Did you notice that Patsy Cline's missing from Bob's bios, Letty?

Today's B.D. quartet:

Hey, Raggedy. I am always afraid that it's my gaffe. Great quintet, PA (minus one?)

Don't forget, folks, that it is our Urs' Birthday.

If I had a dollar for every time I've watched My Fair Lady, I could be driving the latest model of car or pick up.

This is the day Patsy Cline met her fate, Letty.

I posted two pictures of Dean Stockwell because he was such a lovable child actor. Very Happy

This is the lowdown on the singers in the film of My fair Lady, from Wickipedia

Dubbing
Hepburn's singing was judged inadequate, however, and she was dubbed by Marni Nixon. Some of Hepburn's original vocal performances for the film was released in the 1990s, affording fans of the actress an opportunity to judge whether the dubbing was necessary. Less well known is the dubbing of Jeremy Brett's songs (as Freddy) by Bill Shirley[1].

No dubbing was done for Rex Harrison, even though his singing voice was closer to speaking on pitch and rhythm than to true singing. In addition, the actor declined to pre-record his musical numbers for the film, explaining that he had never sung the songs the same way twice and thus couldn't convincingly lip-sync to a playback during filming (as musical stars had been doing in Hollywood since the dawn of talking pictures). In order to permit Harrison to sing his songs live during filming, the Warner Bros. Studio Sound Department, under the direction of George Groves, implanted a wireless microphone in Harrison's neckties, marking the first time in film history that one was used to record sound during filming. André Previn then conducted the final version of the music to the voice recording. The sound department earned an Academy Award for its efforts.

Anyone here surprised that I'm confused?

I could have sworn that I played Patsy, but it was probably on the wrong day. Sorry, puppy. Well, let's listen again.

Just prior to his death, Buddy Holly released a record that was labeled, Buddy Holly, and not The Crickets, or Buddy Holly and the Crickets. It was explained that the record company made a mistake. But, there is no evidence the Crickets played any part in the recordings for either song. It has always been my opinion he was striking out as a solo act. But, since he died just then, they put the best face on the situation. In the end, who really knows?

You're right, edgar. Some mysteries are never solved, but thanks for Buddy's "Rain in my Heart."

I was searching today for the provocative mystery of Mayerling. That has always fascinated me. We will never know exactly what happened. Royalty does strange things to protect the crown, folks.

Raggedy, I didn't know Dean sang, honey, but I'll check it out.

This song has no rhyme nor reason to be played, but Walter's thread on Kosovo sent me searching.

Incidentally, all. Our sister station, Yahoo, is treating A2K as spam and that is why I am having a bit of a problem with keeping us on track.

Good morning, WA2K listeners and contributors.

edgar, I had almost forgotten PeeWee Herman and his big shoe dance. Thanks, Texas, and exactly which devil are we talking about? Razz

The epithets of Old Scratch are legendary, y'all. Speaking of which, let's listen to John Legend and a great morning song.
