Spouse(s) Danny Keough (1988-1994)

Lisa Marie Presley (born February 1, 1968) is an American singer-songwriter. She is the only child of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Beaulieu Presley.

Presley heritage

As Elvis' only child, Lisa Marie eventually inherited his estate at the age of 30. In August 2006, she sold 85 percent of the estate's business holdings to CKX, Inc., excluding Graceland itself and the property within it.

Personal life

Presley has been involved in a number of high profile relationships, including marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage.

Marriages and divorces

Marriage: Danny Keough, October 3, 1988
Notes: They had two children together, Danielle Riley, born May 29, 1989 and Benjamin Storm, born October 21, 1992
Divorce: Lisa Marie divorced Keough on grounds of irreconciliable differences in 1994, but they still remain close friends.
Marriage: Michael Jackson, May 26, 1994, in the Dominican Republic.
Divorce: The two divorced after 21 months on January 18, 1996 on grounds of irreconcilable differences.
Notes: In the Divorce papers, Presley stated she had not seen Jackson the last six months of their marriage.
Marriage: Nicolas Cage, August 10, 2002, in Los Angeles
Divorce: Cage filed for divorce after just three months in November 2002 on grounds of irreconcilable differences.
Marriage: Michael Lockwood, January 22, 2006, in Kyoto, Japan
Notes: Lockwood is her guitarist and music producer. Keough served as best man at the couple's wedding.
Engagement: In 2000 she was engaged to rocker John Oszajca.

Music career

Lisa Marie is a close friend of her father's ex-girlfriend Linda Thompson. In 2003, after advice from Thompson's record producer and then-husband David Foster, she launched a career as a singer. Her debut album, To Whom It May Concern, reached # 5 on the Billboard 200 albums chart and was certified gold. To promote it she presented a concert in the UK, something that her father never did. Presley released her second album, Now What, in 2005 and it reached # 9 on the Billboard 200. It was certified gold in November 2005. Unlike her first album, Now What included a Parental Advisory sticker. Both albums as of 2007 have been certified Platinum. In August 2007, the single In the Ghetto was released. Elvis Presley originally released the single in 1969. In the new version, Lisa Marie duets with her father. The video that was simultaneously released with the single reached number one on the iTunes video sales in the week of its release.

Cultural references - facts

Her father, who called her Injun, Yisa, and Buttonhead, named one of his private aircraft, a converted CONVAIR 880 jet (original passenger capacity, 100), after her. The airplane "Lisa Marie" is currently on exhibit at the Graceland mansion museum of Elvis Presley in Memphis, Tennessee. The rock band Queen also used this for a flight, and Lisa gave Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury a scarf which belonged to her father.
She recently stated, on The Oprah Winfrey Show, that she is 5 ft 2 in (1.57 m) tall.[1]
She has a half brother, Navarone Garibaldi (b. 1 March 1987), from her mother's 22-year (ended in April 2006) relationship with Marco Garibaldi.
She attended the 10th grade at an alternative boarding school in Ojai, California, called Happy Valley School.
On her tenth birthday (1978), her mother Priscilla Presley took her to see actor John Travolta (then 24 years old); Lisa had a huge crush on him. Today, they remain friends and fellow scientologists.

Charities

Lisa Marie Presley supports several charities, including:

Presley Place, which combats homelessness in Memphis.
CCHR, a Scientology-connected group that opposes psychiatry and psychiatrists.
LEAP (Literacy, Education and Abilities Program), a Scientology-connected group affiliated with Applied Scholastics that promotes L. Ron Hubbard's studying techniques.

A taxi passenger tapped the driver on the shoulder to ask him a question. The driver screamed, lost control of the car, nearly hit a bus, went up on the footpath, and stopped centimetres from a shop window.

For a second everything went quiet in the cab, then the driver said, "Look mate, don't ever do that again. You scared the daylights out of me!" The passenger apologized and said, "I didn't realize that a little tap would scare you so much. "The driver replied, "Sorry, it's not really your fault. Today is my first day as a cab driver. I've been driving a funeral van for the last 25 years."

Good morning, hawkman. Yes, Boston, I can see where a simple tap on the shoulder could be a real problem for the brand new taxi driver. Thanks for the great bio's today, Bob.

It seems that on WA2K radio, folks, we are observing ornithology and synchronicity. This one by Lisa proves it.

And as the raven flies she feels unwelcome
She's fallen out of her tree and caught on a limb of silver lining
Her wings uncertain oh but she's still flying
Yeah little Raven I see you there

Hold your head up now
I won't try and pull your feathers out I promise
Go on dry your eyes
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Why don't you fly with me
We'll have a chat and a cup of tea
And a long lost need to see who's really there

And you'll finally be okay with me
And I'll hear your stories
That fill your sad eyes
When you had raven hair

Hold your high up high
I know that I've been ruthless
I've been ruthless

Go on dry your eyes
You know that I've forgiven you and I'm sorry
And everything till now
It wasn't that bad really
Beautiful lady

Go on dry your eyes
Hey you finally see me - hi
And I see you

Eerie

While we await our PA pup, I discovered that a montage of nine is called a nonet. Also, be certain that you check the requirements for the new site as far as logging in, etc. Always read the announcements.

Today is supposed to be the Hawaii gathering day, and will include Mr. and Mrs. C.I.; Mr. and Mrs. yitwail; seaglass et. al.

A song for them, all.

The sweetness of your kiss
And the rhythm of your hula sway
Enchants me when you wear
Your yellow Hawaiian ginger lei.

The golden love beams
Of a yellow moon on Honolulu bay
Begs me stay and linger
With your yellow Hawaiian ginger lei.

Golden is the moon tonight
As we look up at the starry lights
As yellow as your ginger lei,
A Hawaiian gift of soft delights.

The tropic trade winds caress
Your hair gently as they say
Whispers of the fragrance of
Your yellow Hawaiian ginger lei.
Your yellow Hawaiian ginger lei.

Hey, Raggedy. Thanks for the lovely montage. Incidentally, for all our listeners, a link to the new stuff:

http://www.able2know.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=111147

I had no idea that Victor Herbert did The Red Mill/Moulin Rouge, but I do recall Homer and Jethro making a bit of fun at Hank.

"We can't sing and we ain't funny,
Buy this record won't you honey
Poor ole Victor needs the money
Settin' the woods on fire.

Here is a quick excerpt from Cyrano which Victor is also a part of.

I AM A COURT COQUETTE THEY SAY, ROXANNE
EH BIEN! IT IS ADMITTED,
YOU'VE TRIED TO WIN ME EV'RY WAY,
AND ALL HAVE BEEN OUTWITTED.
YOU'VE BROUGHT BOUQUETS AND SERENADES,
AND POEMS FOR PERUSAL,
I'VE SENT YOU OFF TO OTHER MAIDS,
WITH A POLITE REFUSAL.
AND IF YOU CALL ME A COQUETTE,
IT IS BECAUSE I'VE NEVER MET
THE KINDRED SOUL THAT I COULD CLAIM;
AND SO I TREAT YOU ALL THE SAME.
AH! ME, HEIGH HO! AH! ME HEIGH HO!
WITH A GLANCE TO RIGHT, AND A GLANCE TO LEFT, ROXANNE
WITH A CURTSEY DEEP AND LOW,
WITH A MURMUR HERE, AND A WHISPER THERE,
AND A FLUTTER OF FAN, JUST SO.
WITH A DOWNCAST EYE, AND AN ARTFUL SIGH,
WITH A SMILE I PAY EACH DEBT.
FROM CUPID'S FETTERS FREE,
I'M HAPPY AS MAY BE;
WHO WOULDN'T BE A COURT COQUETTE.

Did I hear Roxanne say, "Ho"? UhOh Razz

Hey, hbg. Loved that song on the media player, and Reyn tried to send me some snow. Well, I guess you, Raggedy, and I can live vicariously. That Spike Jones YouTube was hilarious and the music was quite familiar.

Pagan Love song, Aloha, Sweet Lilani(sp). Love them, Canada, and thanks.

Here's another that I like, all.

hbg, Loved the overcoat song. The banjo and the tuba were delightful. What a unique combination of instruments. Thanks, oh shivering one.

Ah, Urs. Welcome back, and I understand that you would like The Boss no matter what he sang, but I liked that music, gal. So glad that you are feeling good; now let's just hope that squinney is feeling all right and that she has quick relief from those calcium mutants.

Here's another "breezy" tune, y'all, by a couple of great guys.

Ah, that is a lot of summer, Letty! Thanks! The weather here is awful today so I need some of this.

BTW, I saw my doctor today. Everything is healing fine and I am on sick leave for two more weeks.

And here is a - well - special look at the beach. Die Fantastischen Vier 'Tag am Meer' - A day at the ocean side. Die Fantastischen Vier are veterans of German hiphop.

Glad to here you are recuperating and have that good old sick leave, Urs.

Wow! That was German rap, am I right? Well, it's the coolest rap that I have ever heard, and I could understand it. Razz

I was thinking about Clark Gable, and recall that the last movie that he made was The Misfits. That is now considered by Hollywood to be a jinxed movie.

I think all of our listeners know Judy Garland, so I drug this one up from the archives, but Judy paid an awful price for being "too plump".

Goodnight, dear Urs. I am certain that Brahms would approve of that jazz version.

A few tears tonight, because I just recalled this song that Bud taught me, and these guys are great. My friends in Virginia Beach sent me a cd that was a concert of the group. "Four guys that sound like a million."

edgar, that's a long way from "....frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."

I had no idea that Clark could dance. (er, don't think he could Razz )

Just the lyrics right now, but you can imagine the melody.

- written by Herb Magidson and Allie Wrubel

Gone with the wind
Just like a leaf that has blown away
Gone with the wind
My romance has flown away

Yesterday's kisses are still on my lips
I had a lifetime of heaven at my fingertips

But now all is gone
Gone in the rapture that thrilled my heart
Gone with the wind
The gladness that filled my heart
Just like a flame
Love burned brightly, then became an empty smoke dream that has gone
Gone with the wind
