My older sister was with Lou DeWitt of the Statlers, when he died. That's how I learned about them, edgar.

How about this one, Texas. Ever listen to them?

Always loved the Monkeys recordings, but could not watch their TV show.

They had a TV show? My word, edgar.

Here's one we all know, I think, from The Singing Ranger.

I won't Gus, I promise. Razz Seriously, buddy. I learned most of the country music from my Richmond kin, and others from my two older sisters, but I do NOT know where I heard the Monkees, just recall that song.

Hey, I know that you like music. What would you like to hear? Surely not Moon River, right? Oops, sorry. I said that Shirley word.

Play something mournful; something bluesy.

Tai, that song is haunting and has a long history. They banned it during the depression, I think. Didn't know that Lady Day did it.

Ok, Gus. You will love this one, honey.

This one some of us affectionately call, "She ain't got no yoyo (He ain't got none also)" due to a comedian's routine, based on the song.

Good evening. I haven't checked out WA2K for quite a while. I love the sound. While listening to Billie Holliday's Gloomy Sunday I noticed, off to the right on the screen, a reference to "Hungarian Suicide Song - Gloomy Sunday." I had heard of this before.

I come here tonight with a much more cheery Public Service Announcement. A2kers will be gathering in Albuquerque between May 14th and 19th. Everyone is invited. There is no "main event" scheduled that I am aware of. Instead, folks can join us for however much time as they can spare. Please consider joining the dozen or so of us already signed up. There is a thread available with details.

Love Stormy Weather, Gus. Lots of jazz artists have done that one. Thank you.

Hey, John of Virginia. You are right about about Hungary. nimh clued me in on that a long time back. Wish I could make the gathering in Albuquerque, but not much chance of it. Thanks for dropping by our cyber studio. We've missed you here.

Well, guess I had better say goodnight, and since I want to be content, think that I'll do this one.

And those weird China blues
Never go away
Sad, mad blues
For all the while they seem to say

Oh, Limehouse kid
Oh, oh, Limehouse kid
Goin' the way
That the rest of them did
Poor broken blossom
And nobody's child
Haunting and taunting
You're just kind of wild

Oh, Limehouse blues
I've the real Limehouse blues
Can't seem to shake off
Those real China blues
Rings on your fingers
And tears for your crown
That is the story
Of old Chinatown

Rings on your fingers
And tears for your crown
That is the story
Of old Chinatown

Goodnight, all.

Good morning on a sunny day in Balingen.

To add a little international flavour, here is some of my favourite German music of the moment: 'Stark' by Ich + Ich: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bn4mpwSNVLI

Good morning, WA2K radio audience.

Urs, that was a wonderful song, gal, and one did NOT have to know German in order to appreciate it. Thank you, dear, for the listening pleasure. We are so glad that you are doing well.

Well, folks, I think this song is appropriate in memory of Heath Ledger, and since it is Neil Diamond's birthday, let's listen.

Great song and video, Letty! I love Neil Diamond. Happy birthday!

But these two songs were quite sad and I need something to lift my spirits now.

This here is a band from my hometown Balingen. They are the most successful band at the moment and this is from the release gig of their first CD. BigDice and I are somewhere in the audience - rocking away Laughing. This is Human Zoo:

Urs, you just got me up on the dance floor rockin' out myself. Loved that one, and thanks for the work out this early morning.

Maybe this one by Neil will be something that will get all of us up and cracklin' Razz

Hope it plays, all. Having a bit of trouble with our equipment this morning.

Your video came to an abrupt halt before it got really started, Letty, but it got me cracklin' anyway. Very Happy
