and now, a Goodnight song, everyone, dedicated to my friend, Crutch via his sweet wife and widow, Mary.

Deep night, stars in the sky above
Moonlight, lighting our place of love
Night winds seem to have gone to rest
Two eyes, brightly with love are gleaming
Come to my arms, my darling, my sweetheart, my own
Vow that you?ll love me always, be mine alone

Deep night, whispering trees above
Kind night, bringing you nearer, dearer and dearer
Deep night, deep in the arms of love

<lengthy instrumental>

Come to my arms, my darling, my sweetheart, my own
Vow that you?ll love me always, and be mine alone

Deep night, whispering trees above
Kind night, bringing you nearer, dearer and dearer
Deep night, deep in the arms of love

Letty, signing off until tomorrow

You guys reminded me of my fave Lightfoot song...sigh.

The lamp is burning low upon my table top
the snow is softly falling
The air is still within the silence of my room
I hear your voice softly calling
If I could only have you near
to breathe a sigh or two
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
on this winter night with you

The smoke is rising in the shadows overhead
my glass is almost empty
I read again between the lines upon the page
the words of love you sent me
If I could know within my heart
that you were lonely too
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
upon this winter night with you

The fire is dying now, my lamp is growing dim
the shades of night are lifting
The morning light steals across my windowpane
where webs of snow are drifting
If I could only have you near
to breathe a sigh or two
I would be happy just to hold the hands I love
and to be once again with you
To be once again with with you

Night! Har, the mice shall play.

Been a-lookin' for a good girl,
But it's taking time.
A-been a-lookin' for a good girl,
A-one to please my mind as well as my time.
I've been singing in the evening,
Flying through the night.
But I hurt my good gal,
I hope she makes out right,
Flying through the night.
I've been picking up the sunshine,
I've been drinking down the rain, girl,
I've been picking up the sunshine,
it makes me think on when I'll see you again.
You know time could bring a change, girl,
It ain't for me to say.
You'll soon be out of range, girl,
A-this could only be the way it's meant to be.
Fairy castle stark and black in the moonlight,
The jingle jangle jester rides his stallion
Seagull flies across my eyes forever.
Sadly goes the wind on its way to Haiti.
Would I, should I, could I be a stranger,
I shall walk right by and sigh goodbye.
Lucifer calls his legions from the hillside.
Sadly goes the wind on its way to Haiti.
I've been lookin', oh yeah,
I say I've been lookin' far a good girl,
You better believe it, baby, yeah!
Yes, I've been lookin' for a good gal, oh yeah!
Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm,
Ain't kiddin' you, ain't kiddin' you, ain't kiddin' you
Yeah, I've been a-lookin'!

I want to live,
I want to give
I've been a miner
for a heart of gold.
It's these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
Keeps me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.

I've been to Hollywood
I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean
for a heart of gold
I've been in my mind,
it's such a fine line
That keeps me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
Keeps me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.

Keep me searching
for a heart of gold
You keep me searching
for a heart of gold
And I'm getting old.
I've been a miner
for a heart of gold.

Brook Benton
Walk On The Wild Side
Words and Music: by Mack David and Elmer Bernstein

Sinner, hear what I'm sayin'
Sinner, you've been swingin', not prayin'
One day of prayin' and six nights of fun
The odds against goin' to heaven, six-to-one

You walk on the wild side, the Devil is waitin'
He's waitin' to take your hand
You walk on the wild side, you're walkin' with Satan
Away from the Promised Land
One day of prayin' and six nights of fun
The odds against going to heaven, six-to-one

You better cross over, you better walk humble or you're gonna stumble
And Satan is waitin' to take your hand
You walk on the wild side, you walk on the wild side
Away from the Promised Land
One day of prayin' and six nights of fun
The odds against going to heaven, six-to-one

The odds against going to heaven six-to-one

Mother
John Lennon
Mother, you had me, but I never had you
I wanted you, you didn't want me
So I, I just got to tell you
Goodbye, goodbye

Father, you left me, but I never left you
I needed you, you didn't need me
So I, I just got to tell you
Goodbye, goodbye

Children, don't do what I have done
I couldn't walk and I tried to run
So I, I just got to tell you
Goodbye, goodbye

Mama don't go
Daddy come home
(repeat 9 more times)

Barbie's Gone Bad
(Janis Ian/Bill Lloyd)

BARBIE GONE BAD
BARBIE GONE BAD

SHE WAS A GIRL WHO WAS LOVED
BY THE WORLD, AND SHE KNEW IT
SHE COULD GET A DATE EVERY NIGHT
AND STAY A STRAIGHT A STUDENT
THEN ONE DAY SHE REALIZED
EVERYBODY LIVES AND EVERYBODY DIES
SHE RAN OUT OF TRUTH
AND SHE RAN OUT OF LIES

NOW BARBIE'S GONE BAD
SHE THREW AWAY THE RULES
BARBIE'S GONE BAD
SHE QUIT HER PRIVATE SCHOOL
BARBIE'S GONE BAD
SHE REALLY HATES HER MOM AND DAD
BARBIE'S GONE BAD

ALL HER LITTLE FRIENDS
KNEW THEY ALWAYS COULD DEPEND ON BARBIE
SHE NEVER TOOK A DRINK, NEVER
THREW UP IN A SINK AT A PARTY
LIFE WAS ALWAYS SUGAR-COATED
'TIL SOMETHING IN HER HEAD EXPLODED
NOW SHE'S LIKE A GUN
THAT'S LOCKED AND LOADED

BARBIE'S GONE BAD
SHE THREW AWAY THE RULES
BARBIE'S GONE BAD
SHE QUIT HER PRIVATE SCHOOL
BARBIE'S GONE BAD
SHE REALLY HATES HER MOM AND DAD
BARBIE'S GONE BAD

SHE LIKES BOYS NOW
SHE LIKES GIRLS NOW
SHE LIKES ME NOW
SHE LIKES ME

BARBIE'S GONE BAD
SHE THREW AWAY THE RULES
BARBIE'S GONE BAD
SHE QUIT HER PRIVATE SCHOOL
BARBIE'S GONE BAD
SHE REALLY HATES HER MOM AND DAD
BARBIE'S GONE BAD

Hey Dys you can go to the place called Beddgelert in Wales and see a memorial to that.

And you can stay at a bedd-y-brekky. Smile

Francis, it seems that in a poll done by your countrymen concerning the top ten most admired people, Napoleon didn't make it.

Letty, you are absolutely right.

See here some results : French polls

Even he doesn't hit the top ten, he comes second when you ask people to whom they would like to speak for a hour.

Well, Francis, they just didn't poll the right people, did they? Razz

What about that underwater man, Jaques Cousteau? I was always impressed with him just as I was with Thor Heyerdahl. Of course the sea is a succubus, is it not? Yes, it would be nice to talk with the little general. Never hear his name that I don't think of a palindrome.

Well, listeners, I just recalled a short story that I read called "Beware of the Dog" by Raold Dahl. What a great writer.

Back later, listeners, with more music and items of interest.

This is cyberspace, WA2K radio.

Well, the least we can do is dedicate a song to the little general:

Met the girl that I love,
In a town way down in Texas.
'Neath the stars up above,
She was the sweetest girl I ever did see.
So I held her in my arms and,
Told her of her many charms,
An'; I kissed her while the fiddles played,
The Bonaparte's Retreat.

All the world was bright as I held her on that night,
And I heard her say: "Don't you ever go away."

So I held her in my arms and,
Told her of her many charms,
An' I kissed her while the guitars played,
The Bonaparte's Retreat.

Instrumental break.

All the world was bright as I held her on that night,
And I heard her say: "Don't you ever go away."

So I held her in my arms and,
Told her of her many charms,
An' I kissed her while the guitars played,
The Bonaparte's Retreat.

Instrumental close.

Good morning all. The snow has finally melted on the streets so I can venture out in my car today.

Did you hear the one about the skeleton who went into a bar and asked for a pitcher of beer and a mop?

Raggedy, my dog Maddy was named after James Madison, the father of our constitution. My other dog had to be named Dolly, of course.
