Hey, TTH, that "goat-footed" man with the balloons was most likely a paedophile. My older sister and I have discussed that many times, along with Shakespeare's meaning behind his sonnet CXVI.

Hey, folks, there's our Raggedy. Thanks for the photo's, cute puppy. I love your balloon man ceramic. He's quite harmless, no? Laughing

Ah, our brooding Brando. Vivien always depended upon the kindness of strangers. I suppose a lot of us fall into that category.

Didn't Tennessee Williams write A Streetcar Named Desire? If so, we need to caution our dj. Hee, hee.

Hmmm, Is that last picture someone by the name of Doris?

I'm taking a chance that it is, folks.

Doris Day

Que Sera Sera
When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother, what will I be
Will I be pretty, will I be rich
Here's what she said to me.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

When I was young, I fell in love
I asked my sweetheart what lies ahead
Will we have rainbows, day after day
Here's what my sweetheart said.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

Now I have children of my own
They ask their mother, what will I be
Will I be handsome, will I be rich
I tell them tenderly.

Que Sera, Sera,
Whatever will be, will be
The future's not ours, to see
Que Sera, Sera
What will be, will be.

hbg

Quote:

(by charlie chaplin , so the site says ?)

Birds are calling.
Skunks are crawling.
Wagging their tails for love!
Spring is here.
Whales are churning.
Worms are squirming.
Wagging their tails for love!
What is this thing
Of which I sing
That makes us all bewitched?
What is this thing
That comes in Spring
That gives us all the itch?
Oh, it's love, it's love,
It's love, love, love, love, love
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love,
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love,
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love,
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love!

Well, my goodness hamburger. I'll bet you know this quote, Canada.

Name the poet.
In the spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love

And here's a song as done by Hank Snow that is the perfect oxymoron considering his last name.

For you and Mrs. hbg, then

The twilight shadows deepen into night dear

The city lights are gleaming o'er the snow

I sit alone beside the cheery fire dear

I'm dreaming dreams from out the long ago

When it's springtime in the rockies I'll be coming back to you

Little sweetheart of the mountains with your bonnie eyes of blue

Once again I'll say I love you while the birds sing all the day

When it's Springtime in the rockies in the rockies far away

[ steel ]

I fancy it is springtime in the mountains

The maple leaves in first sky green appear

I hear you softly say my queen of May time

This springtime you have come to meet me here

When it's springtime in the rockies...

When It's Springtime In Alaska (It's Forty Below)
Johnny Horton
Written by Tillman B. Franks and Johnny Horton
Not released as a single

I mushed from Point Barrow through a blizzard of snow
Been out prospectin' for two years or so
Pulled into Fairbanks, the city was a-boom
So I took a little stroll to the Red Dog Sea-loon
As I walked in the door, the music was clear
The purtiest voice I had heard in two years
The song she was singin' made a man's blood run cold
When it's Springtime in Alaska, it's forty below
(When it's Springtime in Alaska, it's forty below)
It was redheaded Lil who was singin' so sweet
I reached down and took the snow packs off my feet
I reached for the gal who was singin' the tune
We did the Eskeemo Hop all around the sea-loon
With a Caribou Crawl and a Grizzly Bear Hug
We did our dance on a Kodiak rug
The song she kept singin' made a man's blood run cold
When it's Springtime in Alaska, it's forty below
I was as innocent as I could be
I didn't know Lil was Big Ed's wife-to-be
He took out his knife and he gave it a throw
When it's Springtime in Alaska, I'll be six feet below
(When it's Springtime in Alaska, he'll be six feet below)

Clyde Mcphatter & Drifters - Lover Please (come Back)

Lover please, please come back
Don't take the train comin' down the track
Don't, please don't, don't leave me
Don't leave me in misery

You would never hold me so near
You would never call me "Dear"
Dontcha know I'd die for you?
Now you're gone, that's what I'll do

Lover please, please come back
Don't take a train comin' down the track
Don't, please don't, don't leave me
Don't leave me in misery

Old old story, not too long
About a love that went all wrong
The girl left the boy, just as bad
Now she's gone, she's so sad

Lover please, please come back
Don't take a train comin' down the track
Don't, please don't, don't leave me
Don't leave me in misery

You would never hold me so near
You would never have called me "Dear"
Dontcha know I'd die for you?
Now you're gone, that's what I'll do

Lover please, please come back
Don't take a train comin' down the track
Don't, please don't, don't leave me
Don't leave me in misery

Jackie Wilson

Just a kiss, just a smile
Hold my hand, baby
Just once in a while.
That's all need, that's all I need
And I'll be satisfied!

Think of me when you're away
Call me darling
Just once a day
That's all need, that's all I need
And I'll be satisfied!

True love came to me when I met you
True love makes me know I won't forget you
When you're around me, it makes me feel
Life is worth living, baby, love is so forgiving!

Hey, edgar (she says as she limps into the studio)

Love Jackie, Clyde, and Johnny, Texas, but I ain't gonna do "North to Alaska". Instead, folks, let's hear these two.

Johnny Cash

I left a little town
A little south of Hudson Bay
I couldn't find a thing, to make a rounder want to stay
I fought the wind across the baren waste in the crystal doom
Going for to marry the girl in Saskatoon

I'm glad I realized that no one could take her place
My heart was beating for her like the winter beat my face
But knowing that I'd see her made my spirit bright as June
I'm freezing but I'm burning for the girl in Saskatoon

South and West and following the cold December sun
I bedded down in the Carragana when my daily trek was done
Then up and pressing onward by the light of the morning moon
A prodical returning to the girl in Saskatoon

Then I found the trail that had packed beneath the snow
I made the final miles where the prairie lillies grow
The steeple on a church glistened by the prairie moon
I'm freezing but I'm burning for the girl in Saskatoon

My journey was forgotten
When I held her in my arms
My wonderlust was stiffled
By possesion of her charms
And even beneath the steeple
Where we couldn't wait till June
I found eternal spring with the girl in Saskatoon

and, this one as well.

Barbra Streisand

Sky was blue and high above
The moon was new, so was love
This eager heart of mine was singing
Lover, where can you be
It came at last love had its day
The day is past, you've gone away
This eager heart of mine is singing
Lover, come to me
I remember every little thing we used to do
I'm so lonely
Every road I walked alone,
I walked along with you
No wonder I am lonely
The sky is blue, the night is cold
The moon is new, but love is old
And while I'm waiting here
This heart of mine is singing
Lover,, come to me
When I remember every little thing we used to do
Oh...I'm lonely
Every road I walked alone I walked along with you
No wonder I am lonely
The sky is blue, the night is cold
The moon is new, but love is old
And while I'm standing here
This heart of mine is singing
Lover, lover, get here to me...
Now!!!

Jerry Lee Lewis - Hand Me Down My Walking Cane

Hand me down my walking cane
Hand me down my walking cane
Hand me down my walking cane
Lord, I'm leaving on the midnight train
All my sins are taken away

Well, hand me down my rocking shoes
Hand me down my rocking shoes
Baby, hand me down my rocking shoes
We'll rock to the rhythm and blues
All my sins are taken away

Well, hand me down my white sports coat
Hand me down my white sports coat
Well, hand me down my white sports coat
We'll start rocking and, boy, we'll go
All my sins are taken away

Well, hand me down my walking bone
Hand me down my walking bone
Well, hand me down my walking bone
We'll start rocking, we'll be a rolling stone
All my sins are taken away

Ah, edgar. Since I was the baby of the family, I got lots of hand-me-downs. <smile>

Tonight I stepped outside and looked in perfect silence at the stars.

Well, listeners, although it is very dry here, I thought I would do this song for my neice since her birthday is in April.

Walk me out in the morning dew, my honey
Walk me out in the morning dew today
Can't walk you out in the morning dew, my honey
I can't walk you out in the morning dew today

I thought I heard a baby cry this morning
I thought I heard a baby cry today
You didn't hear no baby cry this morning
You didn't hear no baby cry today

Where have all the people gone, my honey?
Where have all the people gone today?
There's no need for you to be worrying about all those people
You never see those people anyway

I thought I heard a young man mourn this morning (note 1)
I thought I heard a young man mourn today
I thought I heard a young man mourn this morning
I can't walk you out in the morning dew today

Walk me out in the morning dew, my honey
Walk me out in the morning dew today
Can't walk you out in the morning dew, my honey
I guess it doesn't matter anyway
Well I guess it doesn't matter anyway

Those April showers that bring May flowers are instead bringing PA some snow flakes this evening, or so the weatherman says. It's cold here.

Today Maya Angelou is celebrating her 79th and Robert Downey, Jr., his 42nd birthday. I thought he was really good in "Chaplin"/

Hey, Raggedy. Odd about your weather, PA, but I did tell someone that the worst snow storms we ever had in Virginia were in April, and it was doubly bad because it was usually that wet type that compacted into drifts.

Ah, Maya. I can tell you one thing about that lady. She did NOT give autographs. Some of my students went to see her at a local black college, and she was quite adamant about that.

Loved Robert Downy in Chaplin, but was always getting him confused with Rob Lowe. Razz

One of my favorites by Maya

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

The free bird leaps
on the back of the win
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wings
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with fearful trill
of the things unknown
but longed for still
and is tune is heard
on the distant hillfor the caged bird
sings of freedom

The free bird thinks of another breeze
an the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

Maya Angelou

and a song from the movie of Chaplin who loved a woman named Hetty. <smile>

Countess from hong kong she moves so lightly
Like the summer rain
Everytime I see and I think about her
It ends up the same
Walkin' the streets out in singapore
It was a funny sight
But let me say the countess from hong kong
She did everything right

Countess from hong kong
Oh, countess from hong kong

Countess from hong kong she moves so lightly
She's like the summer breeze
And all of the princes they came from india
They fell down on their knees
Silks and satins, what a purple suede
She cut among the trees
Countess from hong kong believe me baby
Now you're, ooohhh, like a summer breeze

Oh, countess from hong kong
Countess from hong kong

from way back to here

Jefferson Airplane White Rabbit Lyrics

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
To call Alice
When she was just small

When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen slowly dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's off with her head
Remember what the doormouse said:
Feed your Head
Feed your Head!

Wow! Ge, welcome to our wee cyber radio. Great to see you, honey. Love your Jefferson Airplane song and thought for the longest time that James Taylor's "Fire and Rain" referred to that group. Let's hear it and see what you think.

Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone
Susanne the plans they made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just cant remember who to send it to

Ive seen fire and Ive seen rain
Ive seen sunny days that I thought would never end
Ive seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that Id see you again

Wont you look down upon me, jesus
Youve got to help me make a stand
Youve just got to see me through another day
My bodys aching and my time is at hand
And I wont make it any other way

Oh, Ive seen fire and Ive seen rain
Ive seen sunny days that I thought would never end
Ive seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that Id see you again

Been walking my mind to an easy time my back turned towards the sun
Lord knows when the cold wind blows itll turn your head around
Well, theres hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things
To come
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground

Oh, Ive seen fire and Ive seen rain
Ive seen sunny days that I thought would never end
Ive seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that Id see you, baby, one more time again, now

Thought Id see you one more time again
Theres just a few things coming my way this time around, now
Thought Id see you, thought Id see you fire and rain, now.

Refuse to edit the mistakes. Sorry folks

She Belongs to Me

She's got everything she needs,
She's an artist, she don't look back.
She's got everything she needs,
She's an artist, she don't look back.
She can take the dark out of the nighttime
And paint the daytime black.

You will start out standing
Proud to steal her anything she sees.
You will start out standing
Proud to steal her anything she sees.
But you will wind up peeking through her keyhole
Down upon your knees.

She never stumbles,
She's got no place to fall.
She never stumbles,
She's got no place to fall.
She's nobody's child,
The Law can't touch her at all.

She wears an Egyptian ring
That sparkles before she speaks.
She wears an Egyptian ring
That sparkles before she speaks.
She's a hypnotist collector,
You are a walking antique.

Bow down to her on Sunday,
Salute her when her birthday comes.
Bow down to her on Sunday,
Salute her when her birthday comes.
For Halloween give her a trumpet
And for Christmas, buy her a drum.

Love Minus Zero / No Limit

My love she speaks like silence,
Without ideals or violence,
She doesn't have to say she's faithful,
Yet she's true, like ice, like fire.
People carry roses,
Make promises by the hours,
My love she laughs like the flowers,
Valentines can't buy her.

In the dime stores and bus stations,
People talk of situations,
Read books, repeat quotations,
Draw conclusions on the wall.
Some speak of the future,
My love she speaks softly,
She knows there's no success like failure
And that failure's no success at all.

The cloak and dagger dangles,
Madams light the candles.
In ceremonies of the horsemen,
Even the pawn must hold a grudge.
Statues made of match sticks,
Crumble into one another,
My love winks, she does not bother,
She knows too much to argue or to judge.

The bridge at midnight trembles,
The country doctor rambles,
Bankers' nieces seek perfection,
Expecting all the gifts that wise men bring.
The wind howls like a hammer,
The night blows cold and rainy,
My love she's like some raven
At my window with a broken wing.

Hey, edgar the last chorus of that Dylan song reminded me of a poem that I have never been able to find. The special line was "....golden birds with broken wing...", and it was attempting to do the direct metaphor visualization of how leaves fell toward the end of autumn

Well, Texas, here is an answer to your No Limit by 2 Unlimited. I can tell, this is going to be one of those evenings.

Let me hear ya say yeah! (yeah!)

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no ,no ,no, no there's no limit!
no, no, no ,no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no there's no limit!

No no limits, we'll reach for the sky!
No valley to deep
No mountain too high
No no limits, won't give up the fight!
We do what we want and we do it with pride

Let me hear ya say yeah! (yeah!)

Hard to the core, I feel the floor
When I'm on stage, yo, ya answer more
I'm on the edge, I know the ledge, I work real hard to collect my cash!
Tick tick ticka tick take your time, when I'm goin' I'm goin' for mine
Open your ears and you will hear it
I tell you this 'cause there's no limit!

No limits allowed
Cause there's much crowd
Microphone check as I choose my route
I'm playing on the road
I've got no fear, the south from my mouth is on record here
No valley too deep no mountain too high
Reach the top, touch the sky!
They tried to diss me cause I sell out
I'm making techno and I am proud!

No no limits, we'll reach for the sky!
No valley to deep
No mountain too high

FEVER

Never know how much I love you
Never know how much I care,
When you put your arms around me
I get a fever that's so hard to bear

You give me fever, when you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight.
Fever, in the morning,
Fever all though the night.

Sun lights up the daytime,
Moon lights up the night
And I light up when you call my name
And Oooh I'm gonna treat you right

You give me fever
When you kiss me
Fever when you hold me tight
Fever, in the morning
Fever all through the night.

one could almost feel THE HEAT coming out of the TV !
