Well, Letty is rather like Lily, cause she is on dial up. Razz

song in honor of dial in and dial up:

Telephone Song

by Stevie Ray Vaughan / Doyle Bramhall
recording of 1990

Woke up this morning I was all alone saw your picture by the telephone,
I was missing you oh so bad
Wish I had you here to hold all I've got is this touch-tone phone,
so I guess I'll give you a call

Operator help me please get thru to my baby way overseas,
time's a wastin' oh so fast
Hello baby tell me is that you I don't know what we're gonna do,
but for now I'm glad I got you on the line

Well it feels so fine knowing you're all right,
but you're miles away Lord it's not the same

Well I woke up this morning I was all alone saw your picture by the telephone,
I've been missing you baby oh so bad
I love you baby with all my might come on home and squeeze me tight,
long distance lovin's gonna drive me out of my mind

Well, folks. Our hawk may or may not fly in, so I will do a brief bio for him:

Yvonne De Carlo's Mini Biography:
Source, The Ghoul Guide by Steven Cox

When Margaret-Yvonne Middleton stepped foot onto the Universal sound
stage decked in her shroud like gown and silver streak in her hair, she was no
newcomer to the show business. Twenty years earlier, she was signed by the
studio for her first motion picture starring role in Salome, where she danced.
This launched a career of lead roles in more than forty roles in television and
stage musicals. Of those in the Munsters cast, she as the most prolific in motion
pictures. Born in Vancouver B.C. Yvonne trained at the Vancouver School of
Dance and came to Hollywood with her mother at age seventeen. She enrolled
in the Franchon and March Dancing school and danced professionally at the
Florentine Gardens and the Earl Carroll Theater in Hollywood. Her first break
in movies came when she was cast for a small role in The Gun For Hire in
1942 and for the next three years she took small roles and cameos
(secretaries, a harem girl, a dancer and others) until Salome Where She
danced in 1945. De Carlo was the first in many aspects of her career. She was
the first Hollywood actress to star abroad in a foreign language film, The
french-made CASTIGLIONE.. She appeared on the first hour long live
television show in the Untied States the late Sherwoods , Backbone of America.
As one of films true glamour girls, De Carlo found her self romanced by many
of Hollywood's top male stars, prominent world figures, and a few truck drivers
in between she says, Her 1987 autobiography Yvonne (co-authored with Doug
Warren), candidly describes her flings with Sterling Hayden, Howard Hughes,
Ray Milland, Rudy Callee, Prince Aly Kahn, Jack Mahoney, Burt Lancaster and
others. While filming her role of Sephora in the THEN COMMANDMENTS,
she met stunt man Bob Morgan, who eventually became her one and only
husband, They were married in 1955 and had two sons, Bruce and Michael.
In 1962 Morgan was severely injured while working in the film, How the
west was won, and lost on of his legs, After that incident, Yvonne immediately
dropped her career to care for her husband and nurse him to health. Eventually,
her money began to run short and she grabbed every acting role that was
offered including The Munsters. After her two year run as Lily Munster
Yvonne continued to act in films and do numerous television appearances.
She toured with a nightclub act and went on to star in such productions as Hello
Dolly! which went on the road and Follies, produced on Broadway . In 1974
she and her husband divorced. Yvonne continued to work in many facets of
entertainment and during the 1980's her career slowed down with only
sporadic appearances each year. Now in her 80's she lives just an hour
outside Los Angeles and continues to work whenever a role she's interested
in comes along. Currently she is unmarried, (If I cant have the best, I'll
be content to be single.) She's satisfied with her long career and happy
she still receives fan mail, especially from Europe, everyday.

Sorry for the disjointed form, folks.

Frank Zappa - Let's Make The Water Turn Black Lyrics
[includes a fragment from Ronnie Sings?]

Now believe me when I tell you that my song is really true
I want everyone to listen and believe
It's about some little people from a long time ago
And all the things the neighbors didn't know
Early in the morning Daddy Dinky went to work
Selling lamps & chairs to San Ber'dino squares
And I still remember Mama with her apron & her pad
Feeding all the boys at Ed's Cafe!

Whizzing & pasting & pooting through the day . . .
(Ronnie helping Kenny helping burn his poots away!)
And all the while on a shelf in the shed:
KENNY'S LITTLE CREATURES ON DISPLAY!

Ronnie saves his numies on a window in his room
(A marvel to be seen: dysentery green)
While Kenny & his buddies had a game out in the back:
LET'S MAKE THE WATER TURN BLACK

We see them after school in a world of their own
(To some it might seem creepy what they do . . . )
The neighbors on the right sat & watched them every night
(I bet you'd do the same if they was you)

Whizzing & pasting & pooting through the day . . .
(Ronnie helping Kenny helping burn his poots away!)
And all the while on a shelf in the shed:
KENNY'S LITTLE CREATURES ON DISPLAY!

Ronnie's in the Army now & Kenny's taking pills
Oh! How they yearn to see a bomber burn!
Color flashing, thunder crashing, dynamite machine!
(Wait till the fire turns green . . . wait till the fire turns
green)
WAIT TILL THE FIRE TURNS GREEN!

This would be a little bit of vocal teen-age heaven, right here
on Earth!

Great and prophetic song, edgar. Yes, the water turns back and so does the moon.

Artist: Emerson Lake And Palmer
Song: Black Moon
Album:

Every day I see a new cloud coming
There's one more hole in space
Every time I walk across the street
I feel the gas blowing in my face
We never learn even deserts burn
And all politicians lie
They don't do nothing till we reach high noon
Black moon

Ain't nobody gonna walk on water
When it falls like acid rain
Nobody gonna fake you out
Every poison stains
We're all struck here right in the middle
We never call the tune
If we don't get active we'll become immune
Black moon

In the night see the red sky burning
There's fire on the mountain
Oil slicks on the sea
The black moon is rising
How long will it be

you take a look around the world
The future never waits
We're skating on the thin ice
And we're in the hands of fate
What we need's a little redirection
To find our blue lagoon
You know it wouldn't come a moment too soon
Black moon

Dark Moon

Dark moon, a way up high up in the sky
Oh, tell me why, oh, tell me why you've lost your splendor
Dark moon, what is the cause your light withdraws
Is it because, is it because I've lost my love

Mortals have dreams of love's perfect schemes
But they don't realize that love will sometimes bring a

Well, Texas, we're playing moon songs tonight, and this one is held in trust for someone I used to know:

DIANA KRALL Song Lyrics

The Night We Called It a Day
(From the album "THE LOOK OF LOVE")

There was a moon out in space
But a cloud drifted over its face
You kissed me and went on your way
The night we called it a day
I heard the song of the spheres
Like a minor lament in my ears
I hadn't the heart left to pray
The night we called it a day
Soft through the dark
The hoot of an owl in the sky
Sad though his song
No bluer was he than I
The moon went down stars were gone
But the sun didn't rise with the dawn
There wasn't a thing left to say
The night we called it a day
There wasn't a thing left to say
The night we called it a day

Allegheny Moon I need your light
To help me find romance tonight
So shine, shine
(Shine on tonight)
Allegheny Moon your silver beams
Can lead the way to golden dreams
So shine, shine, shine

High among the stars so bright above
The magic of your lamp of love
Can make him mine
Allegheny Moon it's up to you
Please see what you can do

Ah, edgar. I think most of us here remember Patti, and our moon is getting less dark, Texas.

I cannot believe, folks that Ray Charles did this song:

MOON OVER MIAMI,
SHINE ON MY LOVE AND ME,
SO WE CAN STROLL BESIDE THE ROLL,
OF THE ROLLING SEA.
MOON OVER MIAMI,
SHINE ON AS WE BEGIN,
A DREAM OR TWO THAT MAY COME TRUE,
WHEN THE TIDE COMES IN.
HARK TO THE SONG OF THE SMILING TROUBADOURS,
HARK TO THE THROBBING GUITARS,
HEAR HOW THE WAVES OFFER THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE,
AFTER EACH SONG TO THE STARS.
MOON OVER MIAMI,
YOU KNOW WE`RE WAITING FOR,
A LITTLE LOVE,
A LITTLE KISS
ON MIAMI SHORE.

Pinky and the Brain

They're Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
One is a genius
The other's insane.
They're laboratory mice
Their genes have been spliced
They're dinky
They're Pinky and The Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain, Brain, Brain, Brain
Brain.

Before each night is done
Their plan will be unfurled
By the dawning of the sun
They'll take over the world.

They're Pinky and The Brain
Yes, Pinky and The Brain
Their twilight campaign
Is easy to explain.
To prove their mousey worth
They'll overthrow the Earth
They're dinky

Elvis Presley - Hound Dog Lyrics
-------------------------------------
You ain't nothin' but a hound dog
cryin' all the time.
You ain't nothin' but a hound dog
cryin' all the time.
Well, you ain't never caught a rabbit
and you ain't no friend of mine.

Ya, they said you was high classed,
well, that was just a lie.

Good morning, WA2K listeners and contributors.

dj, it is great to see you back again. You are amazing, Canada, and we love the new you, along with Pinky and the Brain. Don't ask me why, but that meter puts me in mind of Benny and the Jets.

Elton John

Hey kids, shake it loose together
The spotlight's hitting something
That's been known to change the weather
We'll kill the fatted calf tonight
So stick around
You're gonna hear electric music
Solid walls of sound
Say, Candy and Ronnie, have you seen them yet
But they're so spaced out,BuhBuhBuhBuh Bennie and the Jets
Oh but they're weird and they're wonderful
Oh Bennie she's really keen
She's got electric boots a mohair suit
You know I read it in a magazine
Ah ha, BuhBuh Bennie and the Jets
Hey kids, plug into the faithless
Maybe they're blinded
But Bennie makes them ageless
We shall survive, let us take ourselves along
Where we fight our parents out in the streets To find who's right and who's wrong
Say, Candy and Ronnie, have you seen them yet
But they're so spaced out,BuhBuhBuhBuh Bennie and the Jets
Oh but they're weird and they're wonderful
Oh Bennie she's really keen
She's got electric boots a mohair suit
You know I read it in a magazine

Keanu Reeves
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Keanu Charles Reeves (born September 2, 1964 in Beirut, Lebanon) is a Canadian actor. He is perhaps best known for his role as Neo in the action film trilogy The Matrix and also for roles in Speed and comedies such as Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure. He was also a member of a grunge band, Dogstar, during the 1990s, as a bassist.

Biography

Early life

Reeves was born in Beirut, Lebanon, to Samuel Nowlin Reeves, Jr., an American geologist, and Patricia Taylor, an English showgirl and costume designer who was working in Beirut when she met Reeves' father at a local nightclub.

His paternal grandfather, Samuel Nowlin Reeves, was born in Hawaii to Charles Armistead Reeves, a Tennessee-born Irish American, and Rose Lokalia Miguel, who was of Chinese and Hawaiian descent. Reeves was named after his uncle Henry Keanu Reeves. The name originated with Reeves' great-great-uncle Keaweaheulu, whose name means "cool breeze over the mountains" in Hawaiian. When Reeves first arrived in Hollywood, his agent thought his first name was too exotic, so during the early days of his film career he is sometimes credited as K.C. Reeves, Norman Kreeves or Chuck Spadina (an avenue in Toronto).

Reeves has a sister, Kim (born 1966 in Beirut, Lebanon), a half-sister named Karina Miller (born 1976 in Toronto, Canada), and another half-sister named Emma Rose Reeves (born 1980 in Hawaii). Kim has battled for years with leukemia, and continues to struggle with the disease. Keanu visits her often at the home he purchased for her on the island of Capri.

Keanu's parents divorced in 1966, and his mother moved to New York City with Reeves and his sister in 1969, where she met, and subsequently married, Paul Aaron, a Broadway and Hollywood director. The couple, who divorced in 1971, then moved to Toronto, Canada, where Reeves grew up.

Reeves' mother was later married to Robert Miller (between 1976 and 1980), and he has a half-sister, Karina Miller. Reeves grew up in Toronto and worked at a pasta shop, sharpened skates at an ice rink, and was voted MVP on his high school ice hockey team (De La Salle College). Within a span of five years, Reeves attended four different high schools, including a performing arts school from which he was expelled. Reeves began his acting career at the age of 15, appearing in a stage production of Romeo and Juliet at Leah Posluns Theatre. After leaving the Catholic boys' high school where he played hockey, he attended a free school, which allowed him to obtain an education while working as an actor; he later dropped out, never obtaining his high school diploma.

Citizenship

Keanu Reeves is eligible for U.S. citizenship through his American father.[1] and British citizenship through his English mother.[2] While living in Canada, Reeves became a naturalized Canadian citizen.[3]

Britain and Canada accept the concept of multiple citizenships, so he is eligible to hold both contemporaneously, but he does not. Reeves considers himself a Canadian; Canada being the country where he grew up, went to school, and got his start in show business. Although Keanu Reeves was born in Lebanon, he is not a Lebanese citizen because his parents were only temporary residents of Lebanon and were not themselves of Lebanese descent (cf. jus soli and jus sanguinis).

Career

Reeves made his screen acting debut in Canada, in a 1979 CBC production, Hanging In. Throughout the early 1980s, he appeared in commercials (including one for Coca-Cola), short films and stage work in Toronto. His first studio movie appearance was in the Rob Lowe hockey flick Youngblood which was filmed in Canada. In it he played a Hockey goalie. Shortly after the movie release Reeves obtained a green card and drove from Toronto to Los Angeles in his 1969 Volvo. His ex-stepfather Paul Aaron, a stage and television director, gave him a place to stay and got him a manager, Erwin Stoff, and agent before he even arrived in Los Angeles.

After a few minor roles gained the notice of the critics in 1986's River's Edge, a teenage drama which received positive reviews. Following the film's success, he spent the late 1980s appearing in a number of movies aimed at teenage audiences, including Permanent Record, a dark film about teenage suicide, and the successful 1989 comedy, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, which (along with its 1991 sequel, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey) typecast Reeves somewhat during the next few years, as much of his subsequent portrayal in the press has been influenced by his portrayal of the comically airheaded character, "Ted." Reeves was originally offered the role of Pvt. Chris Taylor in Platoon (1986) but turned it down as he disliked the violence involved; the role went to Charlie Sheen.

During the early 1990s, Reeves appeared in both high-budget action films like Point Break and lower-budget independent films, including the well-received 1991 film, My Own Private Idaho, and the critically-hated 1994 film, Even Cowgirls Get the Blues. In 1993, Reeves starred in Bram Stoker's Dracula, which was a box office sucess however his acting is criticized by many and director Francis Ford Coppola claims that Reeves was only cast because he wanted a male character that teenagers could look up to. In 1994, Reeves also starred in the action film Speed, which was a commercial success and raised his profile, leading to his casting in films like Johnny Mnemonic and Chain Reaction, both of which failed at the box office.

Hitting a low in his career, Reeves then did the unthinkable and turned down the role of Jack Traven in the Speed sequel. He was reportedly offered $11 million dollars for the sequel but opted instead to star in the horror/drama The Devil's Advocate with Al Pacino and Charlize Theron. Reeves deferred his salary for The Devil's Advocate so that Pacino would be cast, and he did the same for The Replacements, guaranteeing the casting of Gene Hackman. In 1995, Reeves performed the title role in a Manitoba Theatre Centre production of Hamlet in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

His 1999 science fiction hit, The Matrix, re-established him as a Hollywood leading man after a few years of films that received only moderate box office success and mixed critical reception.

In between the first Matrix film and its sequels, Reeves appeared in several films that received mostly negative reviews and average box office grosses, including The Watcher, Sweet November and Hardball. However, the two Matrix sequels, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions, as well as his 2005 horror-action film, Constantine, proved to be box office successes and brought Reeves back into the public spotlight.

On January 31, 2005, Reeves received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Reeves accompanied former Speed costar Sandra Bullock to the 2006 Academy Awards, which caused some controversy as Bullock is married to bike builder Jesse James. It was later revealed to be a publicity stunt to coincide with Bullock and Reeves having a movie rolling out that same year (The Lake House).

His film A Scanner Darkly was released on July 7, 2006, shortly after the June 2006 release of The Lake House, in which he played a starring role.

Private life

In December 1999, Reeves' girlfriend, Jennifer Syme, gave birth to a stillborn daughter who was named Ava Archer Syme Reeves. In April 2001, Syme was killed in a car accident. She was buried next to their daughter in the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.

Reeves has never reconnected with his estranged biological father (see [4]), who served time in prison; he was paroled after serving two years of a 10-year sentence for selling heroin at Hilo Airport in 1992.

Reeves enjoys riding motorcycles and coined the term "demon ride" to describe how he often rides with no headlights at night. On one of his demon rides in 1988, he crashed near Topanga Canyon and broke several ribs and ruptured his spleen; he has had an abdominal scar ever since - when the paramedics arrived, an emergency medical technician trainee dropped one end of the stretcher by mistake.

For nearly a decade following his initial rise to stardom, Reeves lived a vagabond existence in hotels, opting not to buy a house or find a permanent place of residence, despite earning millions. Reeves has lived in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles since 2003, but also has an apartment in New York City. He does not formally practice any religion, although he has a Christian background and is interested in Buddhism.

Reeves is fond of chess, motorcycles, ice hockey, and table tennis. He is left-handed, but plays the bass guitar right-handed and loves punk rock bands such as The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, and The Clash, as well as legendary R&B singers such as Stevie Wonder and Otis Redding. In a 1992 New Year's Eve party show, Reeves filled in on bass for punk rock band The Vandals while bassist Joe Escalante was at a wedding. He began playing the bass with the rock band Dogstar, which has now gone "into hibernation." Reeves also had a part in New York thrash metal band Anthrax's "Safe Home" music video. More recently, he played bass in a band called Becky with former Dogstar drummer Rob Mailhouse, guitarist Paulie Kosta and singer Rebecca Lord. In early 2005, he announced that he is leaving the band and his musical career for good.

Reeves is reported to be very generous with his time and money, lending both to a variety of causes. He took a significant amount of the profits from his Matrix series and treated the twelve stuntmen who worked on the films to motorcycles, among other things.

His sexual orientation is matter of dispute - bisexual or heterosexual - according to some interviews he has given. Keanu Reeves had always been subjected to the rumors of being homosexual or bisexual - one time the yellow press even married him to an actor he barely knew -, but has always kept a very tight lid on his romantic and private lives. He has denied being homosexual, but he refuses to answer if he is bisexual or heterosexual.[1] In June 2006, he said that he would like to get married and to have children [5].

He has a tendency to re-team with actresses after a number of years:

Charlize Theron in The Devil's Advocate and Sweet November
Uma Thurman in Dangerous Liaisons and Even Cowgirls Get the Blues
Winona Ryder in Bram Stoker's Dracula and A Scanner Darkly
Sandra Bullock in Speed and The Lake House
Rachel Weisz in Chain Reaction and Constantine
Monica Bellucci in Bram Stoker's Dracula, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions

Well, folks, our hawkman is back with his bio's. Thanks, Boston, and we all loved those puns. Reminds me of one long ago:

When our Raggedy arrives with pictures, we will acknowledge both celebs and rightly so.

In trying to locate a dog song for Cleo and Bailey, I ran across The Four Lads and was quite surprised that they were from Toronto, Canada; however, I can alter this one:

Two Dog Night. Razz

Well, I tried to run my game
She said Man, that's the same old thing I've heard before
And I'm too tired to go for your show (again and again)
And she started to explain
She said Man, I ain't sayin' what you're playin' just can't make it
But I just can't take it anymore
Play somethin' sweet, play somethin' mellow
Play somethin' I can sink my teeth in like Jello
Play something I can understand
Play me some Brickyard Blues
Play somethin' sweet and make it funky
Just let me lay back and grin like a monkey
Play something I can understand
Play me some Brickyard Blues
Well, I started to sweat
She said Don't get upset 'cause you just might break a string
And that won't do a thing for your show
So I said to myself
I said Self, do you see what is sailin' through my soul?
And I gotta have some more, don't ya know
Play somethin' sweet, play somethin' mellow
Play somethin' I can sink my teeth in like Jello
Play something I can understand
Play me some Brickyard Blues
Play somethin' sweet and make it funky
Just let me lay back and grin like a monkey
Play something I can understand
Play me some Brickyard Blues
It's enough to make it light in the dark
It's enough to make a bite just a bark
It's enough to make a body move around
It's enough to make a rabbit hug a dog
Play somethin' sweet
------ instrumental break ------
Well, I tried to run my game
She said Man, that's the same old thing I've heard before

How I'd love to be around you
When the lonely night surrounds you
How I'd love to be alone with you

What I'd give to have the power
To read your mind one hour
How I'd love to be alone with you

Just to be with you one night
You and me alone
Kiss your lips and hold you tight
Have you for my own

This would be a joy unending
Could be a real beginning
How I'd love to be alone with you

---- Instrumental Interlude ----

How I'd love to be around you
When the lonely night surrounds you
How I'd love to be alone with you

If I only knew for certain
I'd cut out all my flirtin'
How I'd love to be alone with you

Just to be with you one night
You and me alone
Kiss your lips and hold you tight
Have you for my own

Won't you try to be my baby
Just for once and then well maybe
I could always be alone with you

Won't you try to be my baby
Just for once and then well maybe
I could always be alone with you
And I could always be alone with you

Well, there's our Raggedy. Hey, PA. Now I remember Mark Harmon. Great pictures, and the movie that I really enjoyed with Keanu Reeves was "The Devil's Advocate." The ending was perfect, incidentally.

Well, we have four celebs on our little radio. Cleo and Bailey and Mark and Keanu. Hmmm, folks, wonder if Keanu plays the pianu. <smile>

Here's a question for our Aggie. I have tried to locate an actor that recently was on TV in the movie, "Haven't I met you Before?" It was about reincarnation and the man is great. Hope you can help, gal.

Well, Monday is Labor Day in the U.S. and I found this song with a bit of history as well:

"The original celebration of Labor Day was May 1st, commemorating those workers killed in Chicago's Haymarket demonstrations for the 8-hour day on May 1, 1886. Most countries around the world still celebrate Labor Day on May 1."

In school we learn the well-known names
The ones whose money was their fame
Who ran the railroads, bought the West
Today we mention all the rest
Who blazed the trail that brought us here
Whose family names we'll never hear
Who laid the track and dug the coal
The brain and muscle, heart and soul.

Chorus:
Labor Day, Labor Day
September or the first of May
To all who work this world we say
Happy Labor Day.

The ones who work behind the plow
The ones who stand and will not bow
The ones who care for home and child
The ones who labor meek and mild
The ones who work a thousand ways
That we might celebrate this day
The ones who raise our cities tall
For those who labor, one and all

Chorus

In history books I often find
That children worked in mill and mine
No time to play, to learn, or grow
Just send 'em in or down below
Today too many have forgot
The goals for which our parents fought
When I grow up I hope to be
As strong as those who fought for me.
