One more and then I'm off and swinging.

Aba Daba Honeymoon -
Way down in the Congoland
Lived a happy chimpanzee.
She loved a monkey with long tail
(Lordy, how she loved him!)
Each night he would find her there,
Swinging in the cocoanut tree,
And the monkey gay,
At the break of day,
Loved to hear his Chimpie say:

"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
Then the big baboon one night in June,
He married them and very soon,
They went upon their aba, daba honeymoon.

"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
One night they were made man and wife,
And now they cry, "This is the life,"
Since they came from their aba, daba honeymoon.

Well, you should have heard that band
Play upon their wedding day,
Each Chimp and Monkey had nutshells
(Lordy, how they played them)
And now it is ev'ry night,
High up in the cocoanut tree.
It's the same old thing,
With the same old swing,
When the Monk and Chimpie sing:

"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
Then the big baboon one night in June,
He married them and very soon,
They went upon their aba, daba honeymoon.

"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Chimpie to the Monk,
"Baba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Said the Monkey to the Chimp.
All night long they'd chatter away,
All day long there were happy and gay,
Swinging and singing in their hunky-tonkey way.
"Aba, daba, daba, daba, daba, daba, dab,"
Means "Monk, I love but you."
"Baba, daba, dab," in monkey talk
Means "Chimp, I love you, too."
One night they were made man and wife,
And now they cry, "This is the life,"
Since they came from their aba, daba honeymoon.

Wow, folks. Our Raggedy is hot today and swingin' every which way.

How about a little of Phil, folks:

Oh, the power to be strong
And the wisdom to be wise
All these things will
come to you in time
On this journey that you're making
There'll be answers that you'll seek
And it's you who'll climb the mountain
It's you who'll reach the peak

Son of Man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you'll walk tall with pride
Son of Man, a man in time you'll be

Though there's no one there to guide you
No one to take your hand
But with faith and understanding
You will journey from boy to man

Son of Man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you'll walk tall with pride
Son of Man, a man in time you'll be

In learning you will teach
And in teaching you will learn
You'll find your place beside the
ones you love
Oh, and all the things you dreamed of
The visions that you saw
Well, the time is drawing near now
It's yours to claim it all

Son of Man, look to the sky
Lift your spirit, set it free
Some day you'll walk tall with pride
Son of Man, a man in time you'll be

Son of Man
Son of Man's a man for all to see

The moon is bright above
Oh what a night for love
And as I hold you near
I whisper in your ear

I go ape everytime I see you smile
I'm a ding dong gorilla and I'll carry you cave man style
I'm gonna bump you on the head and love you all the while

Well, I'm a monkey's uncle who's a cousin to a chimpanzee
Like I was reelin' and a-rockin' and a-swinging from a coconut tree
Oh honey can't you see you bring out the monkey business in me

Chorus
Oh, ranga tanga ring ting tong
I'm related to old king kong
Honey won't you say you're mine
With a honky tonky monkey shine
When you hold my hand I'm a pre-historic man,
I go ape !!!

Like a barrel on monkeys on an abadaba honeymoon
I go screechin' and a-squealin' and a-howlin' like a big baboon
Oh honey I'll explode if you don't come and kiss me soon

Music

Honey you know that I'm gonna be true to you
I'll keep you in bananas and bring you coconuts too
And we'll settle down in the nearest county zoo

Oh, ranga tanga ring ting tong I'm related to old king kong
Honey won't you say you're mine
With a honky tonky monkey shine
When you hold my hand I'm a pre-historic man,
I go ape

Last night, my wife and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

She got up, unplugged the TV and then threw out my beer.

My,my folks. This is what I call monkey business.

Thanks, McTag for that delightful cave man style song. Love it. and edgar.......groan.

Mary Hopkins:

Once upon a time, there was a tavern
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours,
Think of all the great things we would do

Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way

Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di

Then, the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If, by chance, I'd see you in the tavern,
We'd smile at one another and we'd say

Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days

Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di

Just tonight, I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass, I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me?

Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days

Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di

Through the door, there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh, my friend, we're older but no wiser
For in our hearts, the dreams are still the same

Those were the days, my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we'd choose
We'd fight and never lose
Those were the days, oh yes, those were the days

Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di
Di di di di di di di di di di

Dancing in The Dark Lyrics

I get up in the evening
and I ain't got nothing to say
I come home in the morning
I go to bed feeling the same way
I ain't nothing but tired
Man I'm just tired and bored with myself
Hey there baby, I could use just a little help

You can't start a fire
You can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
even if we're just dancing in the dark

Message keeps getting clearer
radio's on and I'm moving 'round the place
I check my look in the mirror
I wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face
Man I ain't getting nowhere
I'm just living in a dump like this
There's something happening somewhere
baby I just know that there is

You can't start a fire
you can't start a fire without a spark
This gun's for hire
even if we're just dancing in the dark

You sit around getting older
there's a joke here somewhere and it's on me
I'll shake this world off my shoulders
come on baby this laugh's on me

Stay on the streets of this town
and they'll be carving you up alright
They say you gotta stay hungry
hey baby I'm just about starving tonight
I'm dying for some action
I'm sick of sitting 'round here trying to write this book
I need a love reaction
come on now baby gimme just one look

You can't start a fire sitting 'round crying over a broken heart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
You can't start a fire worrying about your little world falling apart
This gun's for hire
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
Even if we're just dancing in the dark
Hey baby…

"George Of The Jungle"

George, George, George of the jungle
Strong as he can be
Ahhh
Watch out for that tree

George, George, George of the jungle
Lives a life that's free
Ahhh
Watch out for that tree

When he gets in scrapes
When he makes his escapes
With the help of his friend
An ape named Ape

Then away he'll schlep
On his elephant Shep
While Fella and Ursula
Stay in step with

George, George, George of the jungle
Friend to you and me
Ahhh
Watch out for that tree
Watch out for that (Ahhh) (Oooh) tree
George, George, George of the Jungle
Friend to you and me

and, listeners, while Try is dancing in the dark, we're back to the jungle, soooooo

Jethro Tull
» Bungle In The Jungle

Walking through forests of palm tree apartments ---
scoff at the monkeys who live in their dark tents
down by the waterhole --- drunk every Friday ---
eating their nuts --- saving their raisins for Sunday.
Lions and tigers who wait in the shadows ---
they're fast but they're lazy, and sleep in green meadows.

Let's bungle in the jungle --- well, that's all right by me.
I'm a tiger when I want love,
but I'm a snake if we disagree.

Just say a word and the boys will be right there:
with claws at your back to send a chill through the night air.
Is it so frightening to have me at your shoulder?
Thunder and lightning couldn't be bolder.
I'll write on your tombstone, ``I thank you for dinner.''
This game that we animals play is a winner.

Let's bungle in the jungle --- well, that's all right by me.
I'm a tiger when I want love,
but I'm a snake if we disagree.

The rivers are full of crocodile nasties
and He who made kittens put snakes in the grass.
He's a lover of life but a player of pawns ---
yes, the King on His sunset lies waiting for dawn
to light up His Jungle
as play is resumed.
The monkeys seem willing to strike up the tune.

Stranded In The Jungle"

Recorded by: "The Cadets"

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I crashed in the jungle
While tryin' to keep a date
With my little girl
Who was back in the states
I was stranded in the jungle
Afraid and alone
Tryin' to figure a way
To get a message back home
But how was I to know
That the wreckage of my plane
Had been picked up and spotted
And my girl in lovers lane
And meanwhile, back in the states

Baby, baby, let's make romance
You know your old time lover hasn't got a chance
He's stranded in the jungle flat as he can be
So come on pretty baby just you and me
Meanwhile back in the jungle

The boys in the jungle had me on the run
When something heavy hit me like an atomic bomb
When I woke up and my head started to clear
I had a strange feelin' I was with cookin' gear
I smelled something cookin' and I looked to see
That's when I found out they was a cookin' me
Great Googamooga let me outta her
Meanwhile back in the states

Baby, baby, let's make romance
You know your old time lover hasn't got a chance
He's stranded in the jungle flat as he can be
So come on pretty baby just you and me
Meanwhile back in the jungle

I jumped outta the pot and finally got away
Frantic and worried about what my baby would say
So I jumped in the ocean and started to swim
But my chance of survival was gettin' mighty slim
So I thumbed down a whale who was headin' my way
And I reached the states in 'bout a half a day
And when I got to lovers lane I was almost dead
When my soul was gone, here's what I said

Baby, baby, your man is no good
Baby, baby, he should've understood
You can trust me as long as can be
So come back pretty baby where you used to be
'Cause I love you, 'cause I love you
'Cause I love you, 'cause I love you
'Cause I love you

speaking of Monk, listeners:

"IT'S A JUNGLE OUT THERE"
The Emmy-winning current main title theme from Monk by Randy Newman

LYRICS:
It's a jungle out there
Disorder and confusion everywhere
No one seems to care
Well I do
Hey, who's in charge here?
It's a jungle out there
Poison in the very air we breathe
Do you know what's in the water that you drink?
Well I do, and it's amazing
People think I'm crazy, 'cause I worry all the time
If you paid attention, you'd be worried too
You better pay attention
Or this world we love so much might just kill you
I could be wrong now, but I don't think so
It's a jungle out there

Goodnight, my friends. Tomorrow

Blackmore's Night
» Morning Star

There are shadows in the sky
Dancing in the air
Calling to my heart
Saying, "If you dare,
We're running fast
We're running far
Trying to catch the morning star..."
And time and space
Our only sheild
keeping secrets
Unrevealed
Falling night
Breathes in the dark
Trying to catch the morning star...
I can fly through my mind when I see them as they shine
Can it be so hard to try and charm the elusive morning star...
So within the chase
We soon will find
The light of the moon
those left behind
Try to free the gypsy in their hearts
By trying to catch the morning star...
Now that the time
Has come and gone
Illusion has past
And we're on our own
Know the dream is never far
When trying to catch the morning star...

From Letty with love.

Hold On Hope
Guided By Voices

Every street is dark
And folding out mysteriously
Where lies the chance we take to be
Always working
Reaching out for a hand that we
can't see
Everybody's got a hold on hope
It's the last thing that's holding me

Invitation to the last dance
Then it's time to leave
But that's the price we pay
when we deceive
One another/animal mother
She opens up for free
Everybody's got a hold on hope
It's the last thing that's
holding me

Look at the talkbox in mute
frustration
At the station
There hides the cowboy
His campfire flickering
on the landscape

That nothing grows on
But time still goes on
And through each life of misery
Everybody's got a hold on hope
It's the last thing that's holding me

Good morning, WA2K people. and a glorious morning it is here.

dj, that song was awesome, Canada. I listened to it a couple of times. <smile>Thanks, dear.

"....hope springs eternal.....". I think there is a Hope Springs in Virginia, but I will have to check that out.

Well, listeners, I watched the new version of The Ten Commandments last evening. I really liked the slant that Dougray Scott evoked with his interpretation of Moses. Probably very close to the way things were.

Coffee time!

Fox? My word.

Well, listeners, let's get back to the animals.

Samantha Fox - Don't Cry Wolf Lyrics

You say you want me, you say you need me
Can you tell me this time love's for real
It's all the same, it's just a game
You break the rules and break my heart again
I tell you baby that you better beware
Someday boy I won't be waiting there
I'm left alone and then you phone
The words so hot but they turn me cold
You better be careful I could lose control
Someday boy I might not hear you call

Don't cry wolf, if you wanna get my love babe
If you want my love stop playing with my heart
Don't cry wolf, it's gotta be all or nothing
Or I'll find myself a new love
Don't cry wolf (if you want my love)

You think you can't miss with your sweet kiss
But I don't want your empty promises
I could be free, can't you see
You're not the only guy that satisfies me
And one day boy you're gonna take it too far
And one day I might forget who you are

If you imagine my heart is weak you've got it wrong
When you phone, when I come running
Baby no way I'll be gone

So you think you can be a sly fox with my love
Maybe that don't work with me
I'm tired of hearing you howl so little boy blue
If that's you, don't cry wolf

This time I won't be mislead
I'm warning you, you better watch your step

Don't cry wolf, if you wanna get my love babe
If you want my love, stop playing with my heart
Don't cry wolf, it's gotta be all or nothing
I'm warning you, don't cry wolf
