The Pembroke Welsh Corgis are the smaller Corgis, with the bobtail, yes?

Oh yeah, we loved the five labs retrieving the one frisbee. Very lablike! What kind of dog is Bean?

Thanks for the photos, Jes. I taped the show and haven't seen it in its entirety, but I did see the Giant Schnauzer - beautiful. But all dogs are beautiful - except the Poodle and Pekinese and that hairless dog whose name escapes me at the moment. But, since I've never met a dog I didn't like, it's probably not fair for me to make such a comment, as I've never met a poodle, Pekinese or hairless dog. I'm partial to Schnauzers, all three sizes, but the stray dog that followed me home one day, and was a breed all her own, was my best buddy for 15 years. She watched the show only once. I caught her just as she was lunging at the TV, and when she realized it was just a picture, she sat in a corner of the room with her back to the screen. From that time on, anytime a dog appeared on the screen, she went to the nearest corner and sat or lay down with her back to the screen.

In protest, I wonder.

I think the hairless dog you may be referring to is the Chinese Crested. They kind of have a punky hairdo on their heads but no fur elsewhere (some are born with hair all over, just like other dogs. This variety is called Powder Puff). Poor things wear sweaters nearly all of the time and sunscreen in the summer. Kind of like us, I guess.

That's it Jes, Chinese Crested. I couldn't remember that for the life of me.

Yes, probably "in protest", Jes Laughing , although I don't think "Annie" really ever gave a darn what others thought of her looks. She could strut with the best of them.

I can vouch that Pacco is better looking. Way better. That mutt last night was (literally) pale in comparison.

I once gave a Westminster Dog Show party, invited 10 friends and their dogs to join me and my two in my 1300 sq ft house, bought (get this) two standing rib roasts and gallons of ice cream and wine, friends brought salads and homebaked breads and beer. I garlicked and roasted those fat ribs to perfection, if I do say so myself... We watched the show, fed ourselves and the dogs till we bust. Floor was a mess afterwards, but who cares.

Last night I was rooting for the Ibizan, hoped she'd show next year with a little more maturity, but am told she's going to be retired and bred. Don't think she should be retired. Kerry Blue deserved the Best of Show, but then so did the Newfie. Couldn't get my dogs to look at the screen last night...

Tartarin, I think I love you, not to get smaltzy.
I know I love you, I agree with your other posts too, oh, no, you will have to deal with a crush, but, in the mean time,

I have a good abuzz friend with really thoroughbred corgis, as it happen, but that was not why we were friends, and I forwarded a picture of pacco to her and so through her to her dogs' breeder and the breeder said, "Oregon".

M'pacco was picked up by the humane society on highway 101, not far from kmart, where I presume someone threw him out of the car for barking.

Pacco is much bigger than the pembroke in the show, even at his thinnest, he is longer and stronger. There are show corgis, I gather quite refined now, almost lap dogs ---- and field dogs, and Pacco is one of those. Short, beefy, at your service.

Bean is a Miniature Pincher usually their ears and tails are cropped for show and the one at Westminister was the red. Bean is a black and tan.

Bean is delicious, isn't he! Excellent name, too. If Joanne could explain to me how to get an image into a post (I've worked out the avatar thing), I'll post a pic of two, um, thoroughbred corgies, one of each brand! Technically thoroughbred, actually ranch dawgs. Thanks, Osso. The crush is mutual! Pacco in the flowery hat is on the rogue's gallery bulletin board over my desk. He is a biggie, not like those cuddlers now in fashion. In size and style, he could be the brother of mine Pem. Looks like a real working dog. Sean Connery, not Macauley Culkin.

Bean's a cutie! :-D

I love the natural ears on any dog.
