Is there an Australian "silicon valley"?

I'm a software engineer living in Silicon Valley in California. I'm considering emigrating to Australia. Is there an Australian version of Silicon Valley? (And if so, where is it?) Are there any particular areas of High Tech companies concentration? Or are they evenly spread around the various metropolitan areas?

Thanks for the info,
J.

Not to my knowledge. We have technology parks, but there a pretty lame attempt to create an artificial concentration of tech heads in one place.

Generally hi-tech companies base themselves in Sydney and/or Melbourne with a side office in Canberra if there work has a government angle.

I've heard from someone that Brisbane is becoming a tech capital.
