Should religions be classified as Fake News? The bible seems to say yes.

Fake News is what many are calling lies or distortions of the truth these days.

No organizations distort the truth and outright lie about Gods than the organized religions.

Should religions be classified as Fake News?

The bible seems to say yes.

Isaiah 56:11) "They are shepherds who have no understanding; They have all turned to their own way, each on to his unjust gain, to the last one" But do not despair, for the day of judgment is at hand, for the day of judgment and the day of the LORD occupy the same time frame. All the dross will be burned away. (Zech 13:9) & (Malachi 3:3). In that day, "you will distinguish between the righteous and the wicked" (Malachi 3:18)

Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Absolutely amazing how you can make anything appear as anything you want when linking up several bible quotes from different bible books.

(well, not that amazing)

So anyway, the bible cannot be classified as fake news, mainly because it has been around in various forms for centuries and is no longer new..

Is the bible true? Who knows? It was written by dozens of different men- human beings, mortals - each one put their own spin on things and varnished things in the way they thought it'd attract the most customers, who would then put money in the coffers. It was quite possibly true to them. Use it as an extra guidebook for simple lessons on how to live a decent life and as a storybook to read to children.

Fake? Does it matter?

@Sturgis,
Good post, I appreciate your objectivity.

A decent chunk of the Bible has been historically substantiated through non-biblical scrolls, tablets, and other ancient writings. From a historical point of view, it's safe to say that the Bible is probably about as accurate as any other history book that details the goings on 2,000+ years ago.

The religious part of it, as with any religion, is taken with faith and it's an individual and personal thing.

Modern organized religion is very, VERY different than what the original churches were outlined to be. The "church" is a group of people that meet, worship, and fellowship. The modern church is a business with payroll to meet and bills to pay.

This is just one man's personal opinion, but modern organized religion is a mockery of what God / Jesus established in biblical times.

Yes, because the guidebook for simple lessons on how to live a decent life, is promoting the notion that a genocidal son murderer is moral and should be followed, when obviously he is not.
