So what's more important - sleep or exercise?

If you are already sleep deprived - meaning you get less than 8 hours of sleep (and I need 8 hours to feel completely rested) and you also have little time for exercise....which would be better health-wise: getting an hour less sleep and getting in some exercise? Or getting the sleep?

This would be for some one who is relatively healthy - meaning no health issues and no weight issues.

@roger,

me too.

don't think that a sleep-deprived body gets the full benefit of exercise...

@demilovato,
I had a doctor tell me once to take sleep over exercise as like you state I was healthy and didn't have weight issues. Your body needs rest and if you are already healthy you might be getting some exercise just running around doing stuff. You can sneak some in by taking the stairs rather than elevator for example and simply by moving through your daily routines.

@demilovato,
The exercise helps our body to improve blood circulation perfectly and it also improves our sleep. You must need sufficient sleep to become healthy and fit. Sleep is more important than exercise.

@demilovato,
I personally choose exercise over sleep. I don't know if that is scientifically correct, but it makes me feel better to get hard exercise a few times a week.

It just takes a few minutes when you get up to do a few calisthenics and manipulate a few dumbbells.

Sleep is very much important than exercise. Adequate sleep helps you to become healthy. Exercise is needed only for the fitness of our body. Few things can help you to get a comfortable night sleep such as a good bed, maintain a daily sleep routine, taking exercise daily, go to the bed asap etc.

@demilovato,
I think both matter.
Exercise first and then sleep.

@andrehoss,
I am agreeing with Andre. Sleep is an absolute biological necessity... you will die without it in a fairly short period of time.

Exercise is good and important for optimal health, but walking is fine. It isn't a biological imperative.
