Hair or non hair.....I'm stuck between three
AC/DC
Dave era Van Halen
Judas Priest
Can't get enough of Dave Era...a great, subtle band.
Diamond Dave rules, now let me ask you..Bon or Brian?
Heeheehee
AC/DC or Iron Maiden.....? Hmmm, Van Halen never really seemed like metal to me, even though they sort of were.
For that matter, AC/DC didn't seem like metal to me either.
So.... Maiden....? Hmmm. That first album by G&R blew my mind. Of course, I was stuck out in the middle of the desert for 8 weeks when I first heard it. Neil Diamond might have blown my mind by that point.
I was a big Metallica fan, and I'd pick Master of Puppets from their 80's releases. From a broader rock palette, I'd pick G n' R.
Good thread BPB.

ooooooookay...
ok already, how about Focus?
I like Iron Maiden, but they lack the bottom and the balls of Priest, and everything has the galloping horse tempo.....they are bad ass though and right up there with my favorites. GnR barely makes it into the 80's category as Appetite was released in late 1989, but on the other hand, VH, AC/DC, Priest, all crossed over from the seventies....
I consider Motorhead and AC/DC to be more along the lines of hard rock and VH to be more beach/noodle rock.
you lost me at beach/noodle rock.....
Yeah. Um, VH was more pop-y than metal is. They noodled, but there wasn't the driving, metalic tone to the music.
did you ever see them live?
nope, I never did see them live.
heavy as freakin lead.....thick as snot...
So, do you guys see a difference between hard rock and heavy metal? How about between heavy metal and glam metal?
I was a huge Motley Crue fan. I just read "Dirt," and it was pretty damn good.
Dirt is a crue digest? I loved them too, the only glam metal band I really loved - well, until G&R.
