moving from perth to sydney

hi we are a couple living in perth at the moment. we both are non australians and have enough of perth and looking forward to the big move.

* how easy to find a short time accommodation, very central, so we can look in comfort for a nice rental place

* we look to settle in suburbs like newtown, enmore, stanmore maybe hurtsville or northern suburbs. what would be best for a young couple who enjoy cafe shops and a good lifestyle. and where can she walk home alone at night without any problems?

* we looking to buy a new car. is there any forum to suggest the best deals, where you get more percent and how much you really pay?
