The problem with your story is Trump himself. He is classic ADHD and will be easily be distracted (IMHO) if a real world crisis arises. Lets hope that the Kim jung un's dont start stirring the pot. Im not sure Trump will know how to handle it. He seems to have minimal skills at planet level negotiations .

I believe that we are seeing his party starting to treat him as if he were irrelevant .

You've repeated the ADHD thing enough that I don't think you know much about it. All of your observations of Trump come through the lens of the media filter that despises the man. The meida jumps around more than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest going to from one "fire" to the next without ever taking time for a breath.

Meanwhile, Trump and his team are getting their heads and hands around all the things that Trump said he would do and actually doing them. I know it's hard to comprehend after 8 years O"yawn"ma and his inability to do a single thing that he promised to do when campaigning. It has to be a shock for your side to see a President doing something.

Stop watching the country through Bernie's lens and take a breath and look around at what is actually happening. Take off the liberal bias glasses and see the good things happening.

@McGentrix,
How about the International community are we all biased ??? Have you any clue how Trump is hated and mocked all around the world ?...you need a new pair of glasses Sir, maybe a new pair of eyes, or lobes...

Trump is not just the winner of the worst American President ever beating Bush by a light year, he is a serious candidate to the worst President of a Democratic nation on the all planet...get real !

...guess what not surprised...you are the perfect example of a self-centred idiot that missed the point about a global community a couple of decades ago. No wonder you defend Trump... idiots tend to cluster and like each other.

A global community? Laughing Is that some kind of new age hippy thing? Or is it that thing where the US pays for everything while the rest of the world complains about it?

I think a little US nationalism will do the world some good. Maybe Russia or China will pick up the slack and keep your "world community" thing going.

Well, that fills me with all sorts of evening sadness. (Lets make believe I have enough knowledge to have an opinion). Remember, I was a teacher of college kids and there were many many of that spectra who were Mostly smart to very smart kids whose wiring was a bit fucked up. I spent many hours getting help for my charges and, my biggest challenge was to convince parents ( many sounding like you) who didnt trust a layman's view of a handleable challenge to their kids "mental state". Most of them began by feeling that ADHD had a negative prognosis and was for other kids.. Most parent early on, did not want to recognize the problem.
Trump's on the spectrum. Ill bet he has an IQ of at least 125 yet would bail out of truly difficult problems and is impetuou and unable to focus, hes quick to anger, and must work hard on acquiring certain emotional traits (I think his own emotional shortcoming is a profound lack of a sense of humor)

I can see if I cant get some of my old U shrinks who,while at the U med school, would spend their own research time in personality--learning disabilities.Ill ask whether my lay assessment isnt on the money.

My experience is based Almost 20 years of at least 2 students pr year who were full on ADHD nd ADD spectra.The U made a project out of keeping kids that they amitted who qre clearly on the curve

@farmerman,
Seeing a guy on the news and interacting with students personally are very far apart from one another. Now you are being authoritative and making a prognosis on someone you've never spoken with. Trump is not a rock. I'd take your word on a rock every day of the year but not an analysis of someones psychology whom you've never met.

Un huh. There's news of what Trump did, said, tweeted every day. Anybody's guess if something comes he can't deal with by executive order or Twitter.

You must have no understanding of logic. When you see smart people reach a conclusion, does it seem like magic to you?

Do you meen a chain of simple-minded linear thinking that happens to coincide with a highly complex Reality ? By the way what's the Weather forecast for the next month?

Trump's on the spectrum.

While professional psychologists are discouraged from making assessments of the mental health people they've never met, average people aren't restricted in this regard. It's been pointed out that if you look at older videos of Trump, he uses a larger vocabulary and speaks more fluently. We can draw our own conclusions.

Well, he has to talk to Democrats now so has had to simplify his vocabulary. I thought that was known?

Trump sounds like an idiot these days because he represents mostly idiots. Most of them barely understand grunting, let alone the English language.

@McGentrix,
Good point — although I don't recall him addressing supporters at his campaign rallies with an extensive vocabulary and mellifluous prose. I wonder if he thought they were all Democrats?
