In geology, I've been asked to look at original rocks and determine the "depositional environment." 28 samples of shale, one sample of limestone. 2 samples of Graywacke and 2 samples of igneous mafic intrusive. How can I determine the depositional environment?

@Fragile,
What level of detail are you being asked to report??
Youve given the answer to several of them just by their names.
Are you sure that youve got grywackes? or plutonics? Were these given to you by your instructor? If so, just go to the AGI GLOSSARY OF GEOLOGY
