, MIT, for exmple has a free series of undergrad courses on geology . Go Google the "MIT Open Courseware"
Theres a syllabus of each course and pdf's which you can downlod and study as lectures.
Videos are pretty much to be taken with a degree of skepticism . A University will usually attach its faculty to help in the on-line version of their programs.
I know that the MIT version even has field trips within the continental US. So you can even get a road trip.
