Mold Under Sink

Hello,

I moved into an apartment and I noticed a strong mold smell under the sink. I opened up the sink and it looks like there's mold there. I attached some pictures.

What do you think from the pictures? I was thinking about cleaning it with Borax but I'm worried that even after that it might not be safe to live here. What do you think?

@netman,

Wipe down the area with diluted bleach/water solution. Let set for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Leave the door open to air out.

Is this area damp? Can you see any water dripping from above or from the side?
