I liked the book, for sure, but it had a different cover at the time.
I read this book when it was still relatively new, but developed amnesia about it. I did not recall it at all, until gus recommended it and I bought a copy not so many years back. Now I rate it up there with Grapes of Wrath in my list of favorites.

Not because it's a dog. Well, okay, I was drawn to the book because of the cover.
I just love the rich colors and composition as well as the dignity of the posture.
